Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Minot, ND

Toilet wasn't cleaned when we arrived. It was disgusting. Told staff. No one came until the next day and housekeeper was rude and made us feel like we were lying. When she cleaned the toilet ahe set the toilet brush holder on our bathroom counter. And never cleaned it after. We were apalled. Pool was disgusting and cold. You could not see through the water it was so cloudy. I would never stay again.

The front was under construction, which is fine, there was a makeshift front desk set up. The worker checking us in seemed exhausted, and noted she had been there all day, it was 7pm when we got there. The pool area was out of towels, drinking fountains were broken, the ice machine on the 1st and 3rd floor was not working, and I couldn’t find a Kleenex anywhere.

Room was ok. Bathroom can use a little tidying up.

The. breakfast! Yes, the main area is being re-done. But they were sadly underprepared. No yogurt....they said because no refrigerator. But there are refrigerators in every room.. And one had to ask for a glass of juice. Why not a pitcher set out? Someone dropped the ball there. And there were too many thing plugged into one outlet: toaster, microwave and waffle maker. Turn more than one on, it flipped the circuit and you had to figure out how to fix it..

When I first checked in, the room they gave me was dirty. Back to the front desk. They are under construction so you could barely hear each other. Not sure why they didn't build a temporary wall instead of hanging plastic between the construction and the lobby. They only had one room left and it was a King Suite. The manager was in an audit so the desk clerk wasn't sure what to do. I asked if she could put me in that for now and I could move later if that was what they decided. She was worried as it would dirty the room. Well, since the other room is dirty, how is it different with no other options available? She decided to put me in the suite, which I did appreciate. Things should have been done without me having to be defensive and upset. The construction (jack hammering) went on until approximately 10 PM. Finally, I received a text in the morning that said check out is noon. Housekeeping came in at 11. They asked if I was staying another day and I said no, I would be out by noon. They said checkout is 11 and it is posted in the lobby. People at the desk are not sure why "they" (who are they? As employees, shouldn't they take ownership of things as representatives of the company they work for and try to get it changed) continue to send out that text. My parents' room's toilet overflowed and was loose. Which is awful for my mother, who already has mobility issues. My aunt's room smelled of cigarette smoke. Usually, I have good luck with Comfort Inn and Suites. Not in Minot.

The outside door closer didn't work, door stayed open all night. There was no hot water, so no shower for me.

The hotel must have just been updated recently. There was some paint smell everywhere. Some rooms still under construction. The gym and one of the stairways were still pretty dirty from renos. The waffle maker didnt give you a signal when done. So that made things a bit uneasy in the morning. I suggest set your watch or phone timer 2ish minutes then the waffle should be fine. Use lots of that oil spray provided there. When we arrived - The first room they put us in, the door wouldnt lock. So that took a bit of extra time. I know, it wasn't the staffs fault. But it adds a bit of unexpected stress & back and forth to a nice little mother daughter trip on a beautiful summer day. The water in the shower would not turn off. After 10 min of trying to turn and tap it the right way it would finally stop. Whoever did the renos recently must have been super lazy and rushed. This wastes so much water. If there's someone with less patience they would just let it run the whole time they aren't in the room.
