Loved everything fantastic hotel great location food was excellent
Breakfast staff were slow and perhaps under pressure, we were asked on way in if we wanted tea/coffee before we even given table, had to ask several times to take our order, one cool dude just standing with his hands in his pockets while tables overflowing with plates etc. very young weekend staff seem untrained and uninterested
In a suite
Reception staff were welcoming and helpful, and the hotel was clean, warm, and comfortable
The breakfast staff’s attitude was rude and intrusive
The room
Perfect location, spacious rooms, great selection on the dinner menu our meal was gorgeous.
We have family living nearby and have stayed at the Parkview a few times but I'm afraid it is looking a little tired now and in need of a refresh. Its not a large town and I suspect not many people book a hotel room here, but I'm a little sorry to say I think next time we may look for a different hotel.
Our room was at best adequate, with decor and soft furnishings that need a refresh. The furniture is well-worn and marked. To be fair the bed was clean and comfortable and everything in the room worked, but having toured the south of Ireland on this trip we paid similar prices for rooms in other hotels that were much better appointed. The bathroom also looked tired and I never understand when a hotel is unable to provide a toilet seat that doesn't slide around when you sit on it!
The restaurant staff were very friendly and did their best to please, but the restaurant itself is just part of the public bar and it is much more like eating bar meals than anything else. Unfortunately there aren't many other places to eat nearby without driving so there aren't any alternatives.
Although the breakfast staff were friendly and did their best, the breakfast was just ordinary (again in comparison to other hotels where we stayed). Neither the tea nor coffee tasted good and we headed to a nearby coffee bar afterwards.
A tired bedroom, not a great breakfast and just adequate food for dinner.
