In our view one of the best if not the best hotel in Switzerland. Outstanding service during the entire stay.
Third visit. Three nights. This trip we were joined by family.
Two very average rooms on the first floor. Minimal view. The bad part it was the side of the hotel where construction was going on. From 8am to 6pm large construction vehicles and pile driving made the patio unusable. If we had known we would have gone somewhere else.
The staff of the hotel just shrugged when we brought up the noise and room. Said they were very busy and booked-up. At this price point($2000 per room per night) I would have expected a little more of a response.
Food OK, but nothing outstanding. Hey it’s Switzerland so expect $50 for a cocktail.
Great hiking in the area and the concierge team is helpful with planning.
We had a memorable stay at The Alpina. The location, the view from the suite, the atmosphere, the service, the restaurants and breakfast are just amazing. Peaceful rest 👍😉
We had such a wonderful stay at The Alpina Gstaad. It's the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a few relaxing days in the mountains. The pool deck is absolutely beautiful and was our favourite spot during the warm summer days. Service throughout the hotel was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. We also had dinner at Megu, which was outstanding, probably some of the best Japanese food we've had. A lovely touch was the complimentary Vespas, which made exploring the area so much fun. It's the little details that really make this hotel special.
Nothing at all!
WOW - 5+ stars!!!!
We spent 3 days in the Gstaad area staying at the exquisite Alpina and can honestly say this hotel was hands down our favorite in the entire Switzerland (and we stayed at some nice properties)!!
Definitely a must when visiting the area! The room was superb; the hotel team could not be friendlier or more helpful, and the room was amazing with a spectacular view of the countryside! The spa was amazing with a beautiful in-house pool and hot tub area. Unfortunately, the restaurants were closed so we had to go off-site for dinner, but the facility and team members made up for that!
Our experience was so amazing my wife actually started crying the last morning!
You simply cannot go wrong with the Alpina!
The hotel is located away from the town. It’s not really set up to walk. A fleet of cars will take you back and forth and is very efficient.
The hotel is not really set up to ski either. It’s more to loll and spa.
The spa is lovely, service varies but the reception ladies are lovely and go above and beyond.
The rooms are dark and the light switches have a delay and seem to need to be updated. The style is dark. Hard to read in bed.
The hotel is expensive, but I feel like it’s built for people who do not care.
Really it is the best hotel in town as it is the newest.
Concierge team is terrible.
This really affected my rating of the property.
They seem to have one man who knows everything and the rest of the team are awful. At this price point it needs to be flawless.
A beautiful welcome set up in the suite, but was it an overall five star wow experience?
For me no, but that’s not to say I will not go back!
As always we had a fantastic stay at the Alpina Gstaad! What truly made the difference were the personal touches. The staff remembered our names, paid attention to our preferences and made us feel genuinely valued throughout our stay. This level of attentiveness is rare and made the experience very special.
Everything from service to facilities is top 5 star. I would recommend to try the restaurant Megu, which cuisine is outstanding. We will definitely come back and can highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Gstaad!
Amazing property within unique setting. Spent one week and loved the concierge recommendations - lovely and scenic discoveries and a culinary ‚wow‘!
Megu was a thrill - great food and top-notch service.
Will be back in sommer, for sure!
Highly recommend the Gstaad-side rooms for the view.
The best hotel in Gstaad, with outstanding service, excellent food, and an incredibly friendly staff. An absolutely perfect stay – highly recommended!
The Alpina Gstaad is an exceptional hotel that combines genuine Alpine character with quiet, refined luxury. From the warm welcome on arrival to the beautifully designed rooms and stunning mountain views, everything feels considered and effortless.
Service is discreet, attentive and genuinely personal throughout the stay. The restaurants are consistently excellent, with creative dishes and an impressive wine selection. The Six Senses Spa is another standout calm, beautiful and perfect for switching off.
The Alpina is the kind of place where you can simply slow down, switch off, and fully relax.
Our experience at The Alpina Gstaad began perfectly, as we were warmly welcomed and picked up directly at the train station.
The entire team is attentive, professional and sincerely friendly, always going the extra mile without ever feeling intrusive. Special mention goes to Nadine, whose leadership is clearly reflected in the exceptional standards throughout the hotel. Her warm presence, professionalism and attention to detail truly elevate the guest experience.
The rooms are beautifully designed and even though we stayed for only one night, it truly felt like a relaxing holiday.
A clear 10/10 recommendation!😊
The welcome at The Alpina was very professional and incredibly warm. The staff are courteous at all times and the atmosphere is incredibly glamorous yet familiar. The music performance made the evening fantastic. The stay was simply perfect and was the best hotel experience we have ever had.
I stayed at this hotel last week and it was absolutely terrible from the second. We walked in. There were only mistakes. The servers of the hotel has nothing to do with a five star SWISS to hotel in the Alps and when we addressed all of the mistakes and the things that went wrong, no one cared and no one find a solution. I cannot recommend this hotel or spent this money it is overhyped outdated.
Checking in the Alpina, I expected to get an upgrade but a lady at the front desk told me they were full. This was lie and confirmed to me by other staff members that told me the hotel was maybe around 50% occupancy. As a Centurion holder I should have received one.
The staff there is hit and miss. The concierge team there is or vey professional like the older concierge or rude and arrogant like their young male concierge who kept arguing his point with a hotel client. Very unprofessional.
The waiters in the lounge are nowhere up to the task or professional like the ones from Gstaad Palace hotel.
Restaurants are good and offer a variety.
Rooms are probably the only category where I would place the hotel above the Palace hotel.
Ski room staff and drivers are all quite professional.
I would not recommend asking the conceirge to book ski instructors as they are some of the worst I have seen in Europe.
Staff needs to be more professional and accommodating to merit a 5 star review.
Breakfast is very good and with a wide variety on buffet and a la carte.
I would probably choose Palace hotel next time and it has a better lounge atmosphere than the Alpina.
As usual, it was great. It was our fifth time. It's gotten significantly more expensive, though. Last year we paid 1665 Swiss Francs for our junior suite and this year it was 2070 Francs for the same room. But it was still worth it..
Location, staff.
From the moment you walk in til the moment you leave was a wonderful experience. It did rain two days out of the three we were there so we enjoyed all the hotel amenities. Gym, sauna, salt room, pool with a fabulous juice bar
