So disappointed in this hotel. To start, the room was dirty - had long dark hairs on pillow on bed & dust or something gritty on night stand. Too late to switch when we found this out, so wiped off whatever was on night stand and threw pillow with hair on the floor.
Speaking of pillows, they were horrible. I can’t believe I’m writing that….I’ve stayed at a 100 hotels at least an d am not real picky about my pillows but have never had pillows this bad - so full and hard. They were miserable. Oh, and no thermostat or fan in the room so when it got warm in the middle of the of the night, absolutely no way to cool off. Also, never had to comment on that in any hotel I’ve stayed in. Finally, I was surprised that they didn’t provide water bottles in the rooms. It’s been awhile since I’ve stayed in a hotel that doesn’t offer water bottles. Not huge deal, but on top of everything else, paying $5 per bottle from the stocked fridge was not going to happen.
Finally, not impressed with attached restaurant either. I obviously won’t be staying here again which is unfortunate.
The location was amazing, central to practically every Columbia and Mizzou attraction, the staff was friendly and helpful and the room was SO comfortable.
Could use a deck of cards at the main desk for us to use! ☺️
The customer service is really bad! Accidentally booked 4 rooms and tried to cancel the 2 rooms on the day and should get partially refunded as it said in the booking.com policy but never get the refund.
Tried to talk to the front desk, manager of the hotel but they keep avoiding to answer and keep telling us that the manager is not around when we tried to talk to him or contact him. Booking.com tried to contact them but also no answer. Overall the stay and the hotel is good but service is bad. We ordered room service but never clean or took it away for 2 days. Very unfortunate that such a nice hotel with a history had a really bad customer service.
Clean. Old school. Downtown location.
Wondefull stay. Started off on a great note as Drew at the front desk welcomed us warmly and provided a history of the hotel. Also upgraded us to a suite (IHG status) and offered free breakfast and drink tickets. To top it off he delivered two drinks to our room while refusing a tip. Couldn't ask for a better start. Room was nice and quiet and the location was ideal. Not as updated at the Broadway but better location. My only complaint is the extra charges tacked on to the bill, particularly one for employee health insurance. That is a cost of doing business and it's frankly offensive that they add that to the bill. What's next? Will they archangel customers for the electric bill?
Staff found an item I left behind and I received it via FedEx w/in 24 hours of submitting my info. So appreciative of the swift action due to my mistake.
Everything
Location was excellent, right in downtown and minutes from University
There's an automated bird call siren that goes off every few minutes at the parking garage across the street. Seemed to go on all night. Very annoying.
Beautiful building! Luxurious aesthetic! Loved the cozy and very comfortable beds!!
Only one small complaint - front desk clerk checked us in but didn’t ask if we were first time guests and didn’t tell us about the accommodation with the parking garage across the street. Also didn’t share any info about the restaurants.

It is a nice hotel but I cannot trust the customer service or recommend staying here. You may be overcharged based on inaccurate information. I traveled on MU business and had to extend my stay one night, and was told I would receive the "university rate" when I made the extension, which was $149/night on the original reservation. I was billed $299 for the extended night, and when I called to inquire about it was told they have multiple university rates and it's my fault for not understanding the different ones (which were not explained to me at the time of booking) and they completely unwilling to revisit the situation.
