Mercer Hotel Barcelona

We arrived two days late because of the UK air traffic issues but when we arrived the staff were very helpful in arranging tours and restaurant bookings.

Hi class boutique hotel that had exceptionally attentive staff, great rooftop bar and pool and stunning rooms.

Our stay at the Mercer Hotel in Barcelona was wonderful. The hotel itself is a destination in its own right: it is tucked into the Gothic Quarter, and parts of the building date back to the first century, incorporating remnants of the old Roman wall of Barcino. But what made our stay truly memorable was the staff, and in particular a team member named Gabriel. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made our visit special. He really went above and beyond. Between the hotel's rich character and Gabriel's outstanding service, we left already looking forward to our next stay at the Mercer!

In going to such a magical city with so much art, architecture and history, I researched to find the best experience. I desired a place where my wife and I could experience first hand the history and glory of Barcelona. The Mercer excelled across every category.
I wanted to be in the heart of the history of the city (the Gothic Sector) and be able to taste it. Most everything is so close or easily accessible.
The staff is so knowledgeable, so incredibly helpful and friendly. They greeted our every encounter with energy that was focused on our successful stay in every detail. The room was tremendous!
I will be back. I highly recommend the Mercer!

We had a wonderful family stay at Hotel Mercer! We were a couple traveling with two small children and stayed in one of the suites. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, especially by European standards, and the hotel thoughtfully set up a baby cot and an extra small bed for our kids. Our parents stayed in another suite and friends stayed in a separate room, which made the hotel a great fit for our larger family group.

The breakfast was excellent, with a great continental selection as well as à la carte Mercer breakfast options. We also loved being able to grab coffee downstairs each morning. There’s a small bar, several comfortable areas to relax, a rooftop bar, and the option to order food by the rooftop pool. The food throughout the hotel was consistently very good.

The service was exceptional, the AC was wonderfully cold, and the location was a 10/10. Being in the Gothic Quarter meant we were surrounded by great restaurants and shops and just a few blocks from the metro. The area felt very safe and was extremely walkable. Taxis can drop you right in front of the hotel, although the narrow Gothic Quarter streets can make access a little tricky.

Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend Hotel Mercer to families who enjoy walking and exploring. It’s tucked just slightly off the main roads, which gives it a quieter feel while still putting you within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, the metro, and everything else you’ll want to see.

I chose this beautiful hotel to stay in because of the reviews, the location and the look of the hotel. But the final reason was the lovely young woman, Nienke, who answered so kindly all my questions before I booked. The hotel exceeds expectations, but for me it is always the people, their hospitality and their willingness to go the extra mile. Beautiful hotel, no fuss, nice staff, rooms are spacious with high ceilings. Located conveniently with lots of restaurants and bars you can walk to.

Great room. Lots of space. Nice staff. Private hotel in a quiet street. The area the hotel is located in is nice.

The only thing I have to point out is the pool was a little filthy.

Great, modern hotel in a very prime area. We had so much fun wandering the streets and everything is so close. Mario at the front door was exceptional. He walked with us to get a taxi and carried our luggage for us. It was such a hot day so we were so grateful. We would stay here again for sure.
