Don't bother.
Pros:

I'm currently staying here but it's not the best of places. The room itself is nice and large, there is a fridge which is useful. The bed needs a new mattress, it's seen better days and is rock hard. There is no kettle but some cups and saucers, no tea or coffee either. This part of the hotel is on a steep hill so unless you enjoy walking up and lots of steps to get to reception you should not book this. I'm sure it was once a nice place but the management seem to be neglecting it in favour of a newer part. Also there is no WiFi in the old part and the phone in my room doesn't work.

Pros:

The location was phenomenal for reaching the beach however the hotel room was dirty, had black mold, as well as cockroaches. The hotel staff was not very friendly, it was very difficult to get their Attention. You have to pay for everything including coffee which was not included in the rooms.

You Get What You Pay For
Pros:

This is actually two hotels. The front portion adjacent to Reception has been updated. The rear buildings are overdue for an update. Our bath would not hold water, the shower hose was too short to reach my face, the toilet blocked twice ... pretty average even if it is cheap. The upgraded rooms are worth the premium

Scam at Royal Crown Hotel 7daysinn
Pros:

The scam involved the management and all the receptionists.

We stayed at the royal crown hotel in patong beach.

We rented a motorbike for 200 baht per day, they took the passport as a guarantee.

On the last day of the rental I left the key in the bike at 9:49 pm and went quickly to the bathroom (diarrhea). I soon feel asleep not returning to the bike.

The next day I check out and told the counter I forgot the key in the bike last night.

They said the key is missing you must pay 3000 baht. They said a replacement key costs 3000 baht. I went to a local store where the replacement key was 500 baht. I went back to the hotel and asked to see the surveillance video. They would not let me see who took the key.

I went to the police station. The police escorted me to the hotel. We watched the video of me arriving leaving the key, but they would not let me see after.

I went back to the police station, the Captain of the police station Captain Charad did not want money, at first, but asked why I would not pay. I said because it's not right someone took a key and I have to pay 3000 when the key costs 500.

The captain charad escorted me and my mother back to the hotel. We watched the entire video. You could clearly see a man with a brown shirt, same color as hotel employees go to the motorbike with a light phone flashlight and take the key. The captain said he could not see this, but it was clear as day. The recceptionist who was fighting with us all day finally felt ashamed. I told the captain I would only pay the key value of 500 since an employee of the hotel took the key.

The captain Charad got angry and said I was lying to him that I should pay more. I said this is a scam, you and they are trying to scam me. Someone who worked for the hotel clearly took the key.

The police and receptionist said some thing in thai, I got my passport back and paid nothing. We wasted at least there hours.

I noticed at least once similar situation with a Russian couple at this hotel.

We took a picture ofof me receiving my passport and I signed a document saying I wanted the video to show my embassy the scam. They would not let me have a video.

The captain Charad would also not let me file a police report or get information regarding the hotel such as names of employees.

Do not visit Royal Crown Hotel also know as 7 daysinn to Chinese and Russian customers. They are doing scams.

Pros:

On arrival took us to a separate part of the hotel to rooms that were less than a one star & no where near to what was advertised & booked. Upon complaint moved us to the room that was booked but still not to the standard viewed on website.

Great holiday here off season
Pros:

Stayed here in September 2018 and found the quality of service and accommodation to be excellent. From breakfast through to dinner here we were amazed at the pleasant and courteous manner in which we were treated. Looking forward to coming back soon.

A complete rip-off
Pros:

I have stayed several times in this hotel in the past but I was very disappointed to find the overall standard of the hotel has declined considerably, as has the general locality. Though I had booked in advance and prepaid for my room, I was manipulated into paying an additional charge of Thai Baht 100 per day in cash (they said they would charge a 5% premium on my credit card) to upgrade because the room they first showed me as a "standard single" was a very depressing room and not even in the main building, accessible only by a long flight of deserted stairs and without any elevator. Though the "upgraded" room I finally got was large and had a nice balcony, there was no closet space at all and the hotel corridors were shabby and ill-maintained. The swimming pool was deserted and virtually unusable and the garden unkempt. The pictures they show on the Internet are not representative of the reality. If I had not been faced with a heavy cancellation charge, I would have switched to another hotel in a better location.

Centrally located
Pros:

Overall a nice hotel that is centrally located with many eating joints close by. The hotel has free shuttle service twice a day to Jungcylone shopping mall. It has many shops and restaurants and many local shops close by. Beach is about 1.2 Km from the hotel.
The rooms could do with more amenities like drawers, cloth racks, suitcase stand etc.

Stay somewhere else
Pros:

I stayed with my boyfriend for 3 nights at the end of a 3 week holiday. It’s in the Gay district which not a problem for us. Pool is small and in full sunlight with little shade. Unless you can relax in full sunlight. Rooms are nice we were on the 21st floor. Get a corner balcony. Aircon was hard to regulate and blockout curtains were average. Shower very small. And an awful smell of urine coming up through bathroom drain that I put bin over drain. Checkout was awful. No notice or policy about soiled bed sheets from fresh tattoo. Extra charge was ridiculously high. Didn’t mind paying but reception staff totally went about it so unprofessional that they nearly brought me to tears. The room cleaners came down the lift and through the lobby through all the public with the folded sheets for everyone to see. Nothing was discreet about the whole process. Lucky I didn’t have a menstural accident. Please stay at GRACELAND as you will never be disappointed as I’ve stayed there 3 times and never been disappointed with many pools to choose from and beach just across the road which beach is so much quieter than beach near Royal Paradise
Very disappointed with checkout at Royal

Pathetic Hotel! Worst Experience!!!
Pros:

I have booked this hotel through booking.com one month well in advance and then arranged for the confirmation from hotel's side which was confirmed with all amenities. Since we were supposed to arrive late, though the hotel is fully booked we were assured that we will get the best available room.

We arrived late around by 01:00 Hrs however nothing was ready. We have been asked to wait for couple of minutes till they check where can they allot the room to us. Finally we got two rooms just above their Spa room in hotel where the rooms were truly un-managed and highly low class. There was no lock in both the room's washrooms and the bathing area was covered with filthy plastic curtains.

We immediately reported to Reception regarding the same where we got ill-treated (booking copy was literally thrown on our face by one of the reception staff with abusive language) by hotel staff stating we can empty the hotel immediately if we can't stay in that room. Since we were travelling with three kids we didnt had any option rather than to stay back.

Next morning while leaving for city tour we requested again for change of room which was promised to us but stating that ok they will do the needful but would be done late evening after some guests check-out of the room.

While roaming across the hotel, we noticed that they market their hotel with a nicely decorated building which they call to be 4 star category hotel however on booking and on check-in they provide rooms available on this building only to chinese guests and none other. This way they discriminate other country's guests by offering them filthy rooms by marketing .

Hence guests travelling to Phuket and planning to stay at this hotel should beware of malpractices conducted by this hotel people.

Old, dirty, noisy
Pros:

I booked this hotel through RCI. I would have to say their standards have declined.
The hotel is in a noisy location; lots of noise all night long from the road.

The hallway carpet was filthy. The bathroom had mold in the shower.

The mattress was very hard - like sleeping on a bench. The pillow was thin and also hard. I saw some pillows for sale (or rent) in the lobby; now I know why.

We spent one night, then moved to a different hotel.

Peaceful
Pros:

Peaceful, a good location, very friendly staff, a good level of cleanliness. It's on the hillside so it has great views. The beach is a ten minute walk away and so are bars. For the money this hotel can not be beaten.

Good service, average rooms
Pros:

Very good welcoming service. Breakfast is average, a small selection of breads and pastries. You can have eggs the way you like it, and there's an option of French toast or pancakes. Yoghurts and cornflakes and fresh fruit. Nothing too spectacular. Rooms are quite small but neat. Bathrooms not too clean. Nice place to backpack of you're not looking for something fancy.
