Brilliant public onsen but dated hotel with disappointing food
Pros:

The public onsen was great and the outdoor area was beautiful. We also walked down to a nearby lake (about 20 mins walk) which was nice and had a few restaurants. We travelled to the hotel by bus from Odawara which took just over an hour. The bus was very crowded but affordable and the bus stop is a fairly short walk from the hotel. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service to the bus stop/cable car but we did not use this personally.

Cons:

The food was not very good and I had expected it to be much better. The decor of the hotel in general and in the rooms is very old fashioned. I felt that the marketing of a fairly luxury hotel was misleading.

Miejsce fantastyczne. 3 min od kolejki Hakone. Piękny widok na Fuji. Mieliśmy pokój z onsenem i to było bardzo wygodne. Bardzo dobre śniadanie. Bus hotelowy podjechał po nas na przystanek. Wspaniały relax pp tygodniu zwiedzania

Pros:

Room was traditional Japanese, you make your own futon, view when the cloud disappeared was great.

Cons:

As I have a full arm tattoo it was too difficult to cover up so I couldn't use the hot springs. Its 2026, time to get over the tattoo thing, I think.

Jamás contraten algo con booking. A mi me estafaron. Tenía mi reserva confirmada y pagada y justo antes de mi viaje me la cancelaron cobrando todo supuestamente por política de cancelación.

Hotel Green Plaza Hakone offers a truly fantastic stay thanks to its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and its peaceful, quiet surroundings. The setting is very relaxing and feels secluded, making it perfect for unwinding. The hotel is conveniently located near the ropeway station, making it ideal for starting the Hakone loop, and the shuttle service provided is very helpful. The staff are kind and welcoming.
Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a wide variety of choices and very good quality food. The room was massive compared to typical Japanese hotels and included a private onsen, which was a real highlight and made the experience even more special.

Cons:

The bathroom in the room definitely needs renovation, and overall the hotel structure looks dated. While everything was clean and functional, parts of the property would benefit from a general refurbishment to match the otherwise high standard of the experience, something also noted in other guest reviews.

La chambre était magnifique, le onsen super, le buffet soir et matin varié copieux et très bon, le personnel gentil et serviable.
