Enjoyed our stay overall
Pros:

Location, lovely interior and spacious bedroom

Cons:

We were told no Latte or cappuccino at weekends while at breakfast. We mentioned to receptionist on check out it would of been nice to have a good coffee, staff said we could of purchased one which we replied we were not given that option, even though it would of been a nice touch to have included with breakfast

great hotel ....... but staff are a little 'none customer centric'
Pros:

great hotel in superb location

Cons:

I had breakfast at 9am and asked if they had more of the unsliced bread as only a small piece left ....... ' we only put out 1 loaf per day" was the response ? ..... lucky early risers !

1 meal had to go back and took 25 mins to return ....... 3 of us had to eat our meals and our friend had to eat hers on her own whilst we sat and waited ........... surely take back all 4 diners meals ? and why was their no offer of a complimentary meal for our friend ?

Beautiful historic hotel, wonderful staff & delicious food
Pros:

The room was a good size, bathroom lovely and spotless, a little bit tired looking with peeling paint and water stained mirror. Don't like feather pillows but one call to reception and anti-allergy pillows brought up to the room in 2minutes. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Beautiful hotel with stunning entrance hall.

Cons:

The car park was full and with a big car it was stressful turning round.

8 out of 10
Pros:

Overall very good, warm, friendly staff, comfortable albeit a little tired and a bit creaky but that's down to it's age. Central for access to the new forest. Free parking a bonus.

Cons:

Not a lot, some paintwork etc needs refreshing. Breakfast buffet could be enhanced by adding more pastries, walls a little thin.
