Iris Hotel

I can only repeat the superlatives others have shared, and it still would not be enough! Iris was exactly the cozy place that we needed for our vacation.
The hotel is ideally placed a few minutes walking from the beach (it's an uphill climb from the beach to the hotel) and the bus stop and a longer but beautiful walk from Forio's center and port.
The staff was incredibly welcoming and responsive even before our stay as they booked a transfer from the airport for us. Gianluca is a trove of knowledge about everything to do and see on the island - from the shop where tickets for the bus can be bought to the best bays and beaches - and adapting his recommendations depending on the weather as well! He spoke so much and put the spotlight on the beauty of Ischia but maybe did not realize that his hotel played a big part in making our vacation so enjoyable.
We were fortunate that upon arrival the woman at reception asked us if we would like to stay for dinner as we wanted to try it but were worried there would be no spots left. We were in for a treat! The delicious dishes (created by Gianluca's father) and Domenico's care and humor made it feel like we had the privilege of being invited into the most hospitable Italian family's home. We had the choice between meat and fish dishes for each course, and those changed every day to highlight the diversity of the Neapolitan and Italian cuisines. We ended up having dinner at the hotel each of our 7 nights thereand I was looking forward to the moment when Domenico would tell us about the dinner menu at breakfast every day!
We had no issues whatsoever and only had a request for extra toiletries as we were staying for longer which the room attendants quickly took care of too. They also maintained the hotel always spotlessly clean.
Even the joy of the other guests' company is worth noting as the hotel obviously attracts those who appreciate quality. I consider ourselves lucky for staying at Iris!

L'emplacement nous convenait car nous avons loué une voiture au débarcadère de Ischia Porto (30€/jour). Parking gratuit à l’hotel. La vieille ville de Forio à 20 mn à pied et la plage à 5 mn.

Abbiamo soggiornato all'Iris Hotel per tre notte. Era la nostra prima visita ad Ischia. Siamo state davvero fortunate ad aver scelto questo hotel. Abbiamo solo ricordi meravigliosi! Innanzitutto, vogliamo ringraziare tutto lo staff per la loro cordialità e la calorosa accoglienza. Il team ha fatto tutto il possibile per rendere il nostro soggiorno confortevole. Abbiamo prenotato una camera e ci hanno offerto un upgrade con una splendida vista al mare. L'hotel è ben curato, con splendide viste sulla montagna e sul mare. Si trova in una posizione molto comoda, con i mezzi pubblici nelle vicinanze. L'hotel era tranquillo. Dormivamo bene lì. I letti e i cuscini erano molto comodi. Al mattino si sentivano gli uccellini e i galli cantare.
La spiaggia è a pochi passi. Il centro storico di Forio, con i suoi negozi e ristoranti, è raggiungibile a piedi. Anche un bellissimo giardino botanico (la Mortella ) è raggiungibile a piedi. Il percorso è molto panoramico e offre viste mozzafiato.
Il personale ci ha consigliato i migliori luoghi da visitare ed è stato sempre felice di rispondere a tutte le nostre domande.
L'hotel comprende due piccole piscine, oltre a lettini prendisole. Abbiamo apprezzato molto la colazione. Vito, che si occupava delle colazioni, è una persona meravigliosa con un grande senso dell'umorismo. Le colazioni erano varie, deliziose (c'era tutto il necessario). Gianluca è una persona molto gentile e raffinata. Anche la sua assistente è una ragazza gentile e dolce.
Purtroppo, non ricordavamo il nome della donna responsabile della pulizia. Le esprimiamo anche la nostra gratitudine per il suo lavoro e la sua cordialità!
Il nostro unico rammarico è di aver prenotato una camera solo per tre giorni.
Grazie di cuore a tutti per il vostro impegno e il vostro atteggiamento caloroso e amichevole! Ho viaggiato per Ischia con mia madre. Volevo davvero che si godesse tutto. Ne è rimasta assolutamente entusiasta, così come me.

Emphasis on personal service and local knowledge.

The place was immaculately tidy and clean, the staff was very kind, flexible and helpful, the food was delicious, like home cooked meals. The bus stop and the sea were a few minutes walk from the hotel, and the staff was so very king and thoughtful that they packed a lunch box for us because we had to catch an early ferry back to Napoli. I loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

All good. Would recommend taking advantage of the evening meal. We decided to try the evening meal on the first night and ended up having the evening meal for the remainder of our stay.
Authentic Italian food at its best.
The waiter Dominic was excellent and looked after our every need.
The room we had was super and if you get a Seaview the sunset is amazing to watch. This can also be observed from the first floor patio.
All in all my wife and myself enjoyed our stay at the Iris Hotel.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. It started even before we had even left for Italy, with Gianluca recommending Ischia taxi, who organised the ferry trip and transfers to and from the hotel for a very good price and with perfect service. Our welcome to the hotel was exceptionally friendly, and our stay exceeded our expectations the entire time. The hotel is super clean and well kept, comfortable, and has plenty of nice seating options to relax and enjoy yourself. All the staff are super friendly and helpful, the room was great and breakfast was a real highlight every day. Throughout our stay the big gestures and little touches by the staff have made this a truly memorable holiday!We don't usually go back to the same place again, but we will
definitely be back at Hotel Iris!

Super clean, quiet, great food and service :)

We absolutely loved our stay here . The rooms are immaculately clean, as is the whole hotel and grounds. The pool area is a little oasis and the roof terrace is perfect for an aperitif.
The location is quiet and peaceful , just a short walk to the beach where you can then walk into Forio centre along the coast. Or you can catch the bus from the end of the road into Forio and around the island. All the staff are brilliant, we were made to feel very welcome and we had great advice on where to visit on this beautiful island.
We stayed half board, and the food was really delicious and plentiful. Perfect stay 👌
