Hotel Sur

Very good location, clean and good value hotel . Swimming pool was too small but if you like me the beach was only 5 minutes away ,the main beach was another 5 minutes walk

Please don’t be put off by the 2 star, attributed to this hotel. The atmosphere is better than the 4 star hotels I have previously stayed in within Cala bona. Rooms are small but spotlessly clean. Bar area is good value and we watched some good entertainment. Pool area clean and tidy and a great afternoon sun trap. Food was fantastic, but not a great choice, but we were well catered for, always found something I liked. The reception staff are fantastic, and so friendly. All in all great stay, and should be 3 star rated.

Had a great evening there on Tuesday singing and dancing with Sandy Vega. Well worth a watch. Staff all helpful and friendly and drinks are at reasonable price

I don't understand how people think this hotel is better than a 2 star superior room is same size as normal room just has a settee in which makes room smaller kept banging my leg on it bed frame about 10 inches smaller than mattress shower room clean but water in shower sometimes hot sometimes cold
But the biggest thing for me was meal times restaurant just looked like a prison canteen you have get cutlery to set your own table talk about hygiene god knows how many hands go in there and get your salt and pepper food is very average and you have to clear your own table return salt and pepper after 2 breakfast and 1 evening meal I have had enough eaten out since spoke to hotel and rep waste of time

I booked this hotel based on location.price and reviews.I must say I booked 10 days at the hotel sur and was well impressed at the standards and cleanliness.For a 2 star hotel I was not expecting much but got more than I expected,the room was very clean and was cleaned daily with fresh towels.The staff on reception were very welcoming and friendly,the cleaning staff always had a smile and done a really great job.Bar downstairs, with entertainment and supermarket a step away.Our room had a lovely sea view and the sun shone on our balcony every morning.10 to 15 minutes walk to cala millor with a beautiful beach and plenty of restaurants and shops.will definitely visit again.loved my stay here..

Arrived at the hotel sur,early hours in the morning, we had a room booked for ourselves, and a room booked for my 81 year old dad, there was a bit of confusion which came to light a couple of days later, we ended up in the single room, and my dad got our room, but we stuck with the single room as it was unfair to ask my dad to pack up and move.
The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes to the beach and the marina, the rooms had air con which was a big plus, the bed were very comfortable, everything was very clean. The food choices were fabulous 👌, there was something for everyone, we went half board, breakfast was lovely too, full English or continental, with cereals, fruits, cheeses, yoghurt, and lots of pastries to choose from.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, we did get asked later in the week if we wanted to move to the front of the hotel, but tbh we were ok in the room we were in, on the whole I would visit here again, 2 stars doesn't do this hotel justice, it should at least be a 3 😁,
There is a British bar attached to the hotel that puts on a show from 9pm each evening, there's an 🏧 right next door as well as a supermarket.
Dinner out was at Smithy's we went most days there, come out of the hotel turn left and walk straight down you can't miss it, it's on your left, beautiful food, lots to choose from and the staff there are fabulous, they must have been for my dad to tip lol.
We did the glass bottom boat, great few hours on the sea, but ve warned the seats are very uncomfortable, and if you get on it at cala bona you'll be hard pushed to get a seat upstairs. We also booked the island tour, a full day out, 9pm till 6.45pm, on a coach, then a boat, followed by a tram ride then a train, then back to the coach, some great moments and beautiful views, all the way up the mountains ⛰️ 😀, long day out but worth it.
Great holiday had by all.

Myself and my partner stayed here from the 1st sept till 11th sept. My 2nd time here and my partners 1st.
What an amazing holiday! Cannot fault this hotel one bit. The rooms are lovely and clean. We had pool view that gets the sun all day long. The pool area is great with an adequate size pool. A little cold to get in but soon gets warm once you’re in. Handy pool bar for refreshments and ample sun beds.
We stayed bed and breakfast. The breakfast is great with plenty of choice.
The bar area is amazing with evening entertainment every night. We had a lot of fun.
All the staff are exceptionally friendly and work so hard. They all made our stay feel special but I would like to give a big shout out to Pedro and Maria who went above and beyond and were both great fun.
We will definitely be returning next year!

Great little hotel, clean and tidy. Breakfast well worth the money. Pool clean although deep, staff were really pleasant and nothing seemed to much trouble. Great location near to some great restaurants. Pool view rooms lack storage a small chest of drawers would be great and very useful. Entertainment in the bar below every night which could be loud but never caused us an issue. Seaview rooms will be directly above the bar and entertainment however. Majority of guest had Been before which says something about hotel. Would stay again for the price we paid.

We had such a lovely holiday here. We had a sea view room of a larger size and stayed full board. Wholesome food in the evening with fresh salad every night. Solid breakfast with a wide variety of fresh fruit every day. Spotlessly clean. Excellent air conditioning. Music in the bar stops at midnight. Can't fault this hotel really. Friendly, family staff. Extremely reasonable price for late checkout. We didnt use the pool area but when we looked it seemed more than adequate. Really good location. Nice traditional feel. Great price as well. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A brilliant little Hotel staying 10 nights on a half board basis. We last visited here in 2014 and I gave it 4 out of 5 as it was really really basic back then. It's obviously been updated slightly since then , with the introduction of air conditioning especially, hence the upgrade to 5 out of 5.
Yes it's still basic, but the rooms are adequate, if like us as long as its clean (cleaned daily and fresh towels except on Sundays) its only somewhere to sleep after all. For the price don't expect 5 star luxury, but the food, staff and location are excellent .
Other than that I really can't say much more, as it's just how we remembered it from 11 years ago. You'll find when talking to other guests many have been going there for years, and will be continuing to do so. Therefore for me that's testament enough, and we'll probably be returning ourselves, probably not leaving it so long next time.

My partner and I booked a last minute holiday here and it was good! The rooms were small but clean, the pool are also small but clean and never any problems getting a lounger. The air con in the room and the fridge was good. Bring your own shampoo and shower gel as you do only get a little sachet that lasts one wash per person and a bar of soap but there are plenty of shops nearby to pick some up. The towels are a bit small and don't dry very well also, not very absorbent. The sports bar below is very loud but reading the reviews we were well warned about that and I brought earplugs and it was no bother so as long as you're prepared you can avoid being disturbed hopefully. Didn't hear any noise from the rooms beside us either, all you can hear are chairs moving across the floor when the cleaners are in but no talking noises etc. We had breakfast every day - the food was nice, the usual selection you would expect and it was tasty. We had dinner twice- at €15 per person can't complain - small selection of main meals but the food was nice. There are lots of resteraunts and cafes around also. The reception staff were nice and the WiFi was good. There is air con in the room which is great but there was also a ceiling fan - we had no information on how to use this but didn't need to find out as the aircon was enough. They have a small luggage room for storing luggage when you check out but it only fits about 4 cases so be warned if it's busy. Honestly for a 1* hotel it was much better than I expected. Only a couple of minutes walk to a stoney beach with lots of snorkelling areas or a 15min walk to a sandy beach.

solo traveller stayed in room 325 that's at the back of the hotel and it was lovely quiet not like the front very loud.......
staff very friendly spoke good English front desk always someone there.......
menu fantastic one thing stuck out clear away your own dishes i thought this was a good thing not having some one hover over you........
drink price ever good 3.40 for a pint of beer.....over all the hotel sur 2* should be 3*.....
be a wear on your guard out side the hotel there is a cycle lane it runs the full length off cala bona to cala millor.....
the beach there's no quiet part but still you cant have everything.......
oh the rooms don't have kettles.....and watch out for people trying to sell you things there is a by law its you that gets fined........over all my experience of cala bona was very good and YES i would go again..........

Shower was fast to regulate and powerful enough. Fridge was basic but handy to have. Wall mounted TV and comfy beds. Excellent A/C. Two minute walk to the marina, if even that. The hardworking staff was very friendly and pleasant. Would happily stay again but preferably once the construction work next door is completed as there was a lot of drilling. Pool area was fine and sunbeds always available.

Perfect hotel. For no fuss but very clean. Cleaners everyday. Great staff. Great craic at night.. Fridge in the room.. Air conditioning worked a treat... Building site next door. That could annoy most travellers but didn't bother us too much.. All in all.. No fuss hotel and very reasonable... If you enjoy more up market hotels then I would recommend to stay elsewhere but for 5 days away it was the perfect location.. Thank you Hotel Sur..

Great location and very clean Hotel. Originally thought it should be rated a 3 star as opposed to a 2 star, however the reason it probably isn’t is because of the extremely loud noisy Sports Bar below it. The loud music starts at 15:30 & goes on until midnight every single night. I even felt sorry for the 4 Star Hotel Guests opposite, who had to endure this while sitting on their balconies in the evenings.

Just returned from another fantastic week at hotel sur. It's our 4th time here and the value for money is excellent.
Room basic with air con and fridge - what more do you need.
Hired an iron for 5 days 10 euros.
Pool lovely as always and great to see the same faces on our favourite week in July.
Entertainment fantastic as always.
Location is perfect.
Had the most wonderful honeymoon in cala bona surrounded by wonderful people!
We were aware of the building work next door before arrival and as a couple that work outside on the tools it didn't affect us.

Went as as a group of 4 girls (ok maybe a bit older!). We were advised of building work next door but it didn’t bother us. Room was lovely for a street view. You get morning sun. A little tight for space so you may walk into the bed frames, but, this is a 2 star hotel in an amazing hotel, that puts on entertainment at night, fantastic breakfasts, really clean, hardworking staff. Honestly, the chances of 4 of us all agreeing on how good somewhere is proves the quality of this hotel. I think we may be back. The only thing we found difficult was the pool area, not that we wanted to be there much but it did seem a bit compact and sadly beds reserved….need I say more….how do you lovely Spanish hoteliers tolerate….

Just had a fantastic week alone in the hotel, its a fanstic family run hotel from the moment I arrived the night porter was welcoming and helpful. You get a good feeling of comfort from both the rooms and the staff. The bar has a good atmosphere all day and night great table service. Also the pool bar is very convenient and with the huge supermarket next door providing everything you would need at a reasonable price. Already looking forward to going back in September.

So, let’s start with the positives, the rooms are spotless and cleaned every day (except Sunday) clean towels etc. leave you some sachets of shower gel & soap in the bathroom. Rooms are quite small with no coffee/tea making. There is a fridge but even at the highest setting it didn’t chill anything. The staff were friendly but mainly only saw the reception ones.
So, the hotel I believe has 102 rooms. For a hotel this size, the pool was way too small and nowhere near enough sunbeds (I counted 41). The beds have towels put on them from silly o’clock in the morning so you have little chance of getting anywhere near them so we ended up going to the beach and having to pay for a bed there.
We went half board but really wish we’d only done b&b as the evening food was just not what you’d expect from a hotel in Spain, being vegetarian there was nothing for me (unless I wanted to eat green beans and chips) so we ended up having to eat out every evening at a further cost. It’s a bit like a canteen and you have to clear your own table/plates at the end of your meal.
We had a pool facing room with a small balcony as had read it was quieter with the bar being underneath, we could still hear the music but didn’t really affect us, however the noise from people returning to their rooms was super noisy (but on holiday so that’s not so bad)
It’s super close to shops/restaurants and a couple of bars. The beach around 5 mins away is beautiful and the sea is warm and clear.
Cala Millor is about a 25 mins walk and much busier with a bigger beach but way more packed with people.
If you’re looking for a hotel to just use as a base it’s okay and in a great spot for a quiet relaxing holiday.
Would I return, not too sure but still had an amazing break.
