This hotel is a little run down in the rooms my door wouldn’t lock properly the shower leaked and is a bit dated but it is situated in a beautiful place with amazing views breakfast isn’t that nice but lunch and dinner is definitely better all the staff were amazing except one man on reception my purse was lost/ stolen at the airport so I only had Apple Pay or pound sterlings which no one excepts and I had a trip booked which I needed to pay €16 on arrival in cash the morning lady receptionist sent me to another hotel which was a 30 min walk away to change up my cash when I got there I was told they no longer have this service so when I walked back to my hotel I went to reception to tell them and the man on reception was extremely rude his name was gordan jozie (so he says) he was very unsympathetic rude and basically said “so what do you want me to do about it “ and spoke with some aggression tbh I didn’t want him to do anything maybe just apologise and I was only informing them so they did not send anyone else there but he was talking to me with so much anger I felt I was in the wrong for some reason I was already very upset as loosing my purse being in a foreign country is quite scary and I was very hot and had blisters on my feet from walking so far for no reason but yet he felt the need to be rude to me on top of that I got the impression he either does not like women or does not like English people and I was somewhat of an inconvenience to him I left in absolute tears this is shocking behaviour of a a hotel receptionist and even more so from a man to a woman it was very intimating being a hotel manager myself I did expect more and definitely put a downer on the rest of my holiday
Dom borde städa runt bad och solstols området massa disk å annat skräp.Matsalen är väldigt högljud borde göra något åt stolarna skrapar i golvet otrevligt ljud .
Super god beliggenhed.
Food for an all inclusive was good
The shower did not work and was loose on the holder. Tired room.
Views beautiful views and pleasant staff.
+ Fantastic location and great pool area, also with child pool and trees for shadow near the pool. Nice sea view from balcony.
- But the hotel is dated and needs a complete renovation. The all inclusive warm food was very low quality, we only eat there for convenience and no restaurants nearby. If they make a major improvement to the warm food quality, it would overall be a much better experience. The cold food (salads etc was good).
Hotel val, the staff were very friendly! But sadly the hotel itself wasn’t the nicest! The sun loungers were extremely uncomfortable! The pool area was very nice and clean! The pool itself was very clean and refreshing - the ‘beach’ was not a beach it was a slab of concrete with metal steps going into the sea, the concrete slab was covered in sea urchins! So be careful!! There was no outdoor bar or water facility near the pool or ‘beach’, so you have to make your way into the dining room to get a drink. The food, for an all inclusive hotel I don’t tend to expect the most amazing food but this hotel limited options and near to no diary free options (I am dairy free myself, and there were a few dinners where I really struggled to pick food out for myself.) The rooms, I was in a double room and the friend I was with was in a single room - both rooms felt very dated and dirty. I found multiple insects in my room when I first arrived and the shower head in the single room was broken and went very cold very quickly. The other issue we found was that the cleaners would come in and clean your room while you were still in bed - and would clean your balcony at 7am very loudly! The other thing we found was that the price was dramatically different from a double room over a single room for not really much of a reason other than the extra bed, and extra towels… The location of the hotel was not great either - there isn’t much around if your walking to and from places but if you are getting Ubers then Trogir is about a 10-15 minute drive away, at a cost of €4.90. Overall this hotel had very helpful and kind staff, but unfortunately that’s about it. So sadly I wouldn’t recommend Hotel Val.
Recomended for hollyday
You will gate everything you want
Dont forget bring your family also best friend to make story for your life.
Service and food will giveing you feel like home.
Come and gate sensational for your live
And enjoy for your hollyday
Edit after 3 days: Avoid at all costs!
Initially, I was having a lovely hiking holiday with my friend until a power trippy head waiter got involved and completely ruined the experience.
So there is no drinking water in the room, no shops open close by or on site... and I was chastised for filling my small 70cl bottle with water for my hike. I genuinely thought it might be because he thought I was filling up with fizzy but when I showed him it was water, he had a go at me again.
Honestly, this is beyond a joke, he's the main bartender as well... being that there was about 15 guests staying in total, he knows I don't drink. To embarrass me for getting just water.. wow... Just wow.
Original review (1 day in):
Came just before season starts, no mention of no pool. That's fine as we were here for a walking holiday.
Asked for a simple Sun bed to lie on and the man said of course, I'll send someone to unlock them now, so I trotted off very satisfied.
We waited patiently for an hour and nothing... I walked up to reception again and the man had left. A lady replaced him. She firstly didn't apologise on behalf of the man for not coming to find us (2 minute walk) and secondly informed me it was not possible to provide us with a sunbed. So I asked if we could borrow a cushion or a towel to lie on for a couple of hours, nope...
It was something so very very simple but definitely an unwillingness to help.
Food is local and absolutely delicious, definitely not catered for fussy western children. I don't drink so can't comment.
The rooms are very basic, but very clean. Unfortunately no fridge, kettle or water provided. Comfortable place to rest our legs after our long hikes though.
Shower was also broken.
Final thought:
After these 2 really bad experiences in such a short space of time, I would definitely come back to the area but I would avoid this hotel with the some of the staff they have. The chefs, I want to take home with me though.
I had a great stay at Hotel Val All Inclusive! The service was excellent, the food options were delicious with a lot of variety, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the all-inclusive experience made everything super convenient. The only downside was that there was no light on the balcony, which made it hard to enjoy the space in the evenings. Other than that, everything was wonderful and I’d definitely stay again!
The reception and cleaning staff were very good. Restaurant staff must have hada hard season. Food was the worst I've ever experienced. All hot food cold normal light bulbs above hot plates. Only saw animation team when they ate their meals.
The hotel is clean and tidy but is in need of an update . We hadn’t read any reviews before booking so can only blame ourselves. If you are elderly or have mobility issues , it’s not necessarily the hotel for you! No lifts and lots of steps ! The hot food at lunch and dinner were disappointing but it saved the waistline from expanding 😂
The pool is lovely but the access into the sea is not easy. No beach towels provided , but we used our room towels.
A sea taxi very nearby to take you into Trogir which is definitely worth a visit , a lovely ancient town with narrow cobbled streets and dozens of restaurants with lots of choice.
If you’re a foody this is not the hotel for you but there are restaurants within a very short walk of the hotel !
Fabulous location.
Hotel entrance, was dark, depressing and dated.
We always found something to eat, but must admit breakfast was very unusual, ie sprout and cauliflower.
The sweets were a pleasure.
We loved Trogir, fabulous place and a must see. We used the water taxi, 8 euros return. To walk takes over 30 minutes.
Overall the hotel requires renovation, although our room, number 506 was clean and comfortable. The views from our balcony were breathtaking.
The whole site includes lots of steps, possibly problematic for folk with difficulties. Apart from the pool area a concrete platform provides sunbathing area and access to the sea. Steel ladders enable swimmers to get in and out, but are slippery and possibly hazardous.
The staff were good, a special mention to Ady. Whereas Leonardo alias ‘Happy Harry’ serving at the outside bar…..well! He was just rude. Also on some afternoons the outside bar was closed.
We loved Croatia and intend to return, but not to Hotel Val.
This is a 3-star hotel so expectations were that we would be staying in an average hotel however if it wasn't for the location it would definitely be a 2 star. The room was clean if a little dated but we had ants all over the balcony and at one point my wife had a man brushing them off her back when we were queuing for our meal. You are paying for the view only NOT the service, amenities, entertainment (unless you are French) or the food.
Service; all the staff were pleasant with the exception of Leonardo on the terrace bar. He never once made eye contact let alone interacted with either of us when we went for a drink, but did with the French and Croatians. Mustiko was lovely as were all the Indonesian staff. The room was 'cleaned' daily. When I say 'cleaned ' I mean they folded the bed sheet and emptied the bin. Wedding get clean towels once. end of.
Amenities; None.
Entertainment; The animation team got the crowd going every evening. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy or take part as it was all in French so couldn't understand what was being said. This was a shame because there was nothing else to do in the hotel so we missed out greatly.
Food; The food! Pros - Beautifully cooked beef/pork, both in delicious sauces. Fresh bread daily. Nice selection of sweets. Cons - Cauliflower or sprouts for breakfast. Deep fried greasy french toast. Leftover meat from dinner used for tea. Powdered mashed potato which was a wet slop. Powdered egg for the scrambled eggs. Pasta pasta pasta. Cheap coffee and only hot vendored powdered milk available for tea drinkers.
The cocktail drinks are from a machine so not what you would expect a cocktail to be, more like a cheap watered down version. This hotel is sea front but not beach front. There simply isn't a beach but a concrete concourse with steps provided into the water. It has a few little concreted platforms along the walkway with sun loungers, if your lucky enough to get one.
The area is beautiful, having the marina and Trogir (a must-visit) not far with easy access in regular taxi boats and in the opposite direction is a very calm relaxed selection of small stone beaches and shops. Just past these through the woods is a cove, perfect for swimming and fish spotting. A kingfisher nearly landed on my head! We even had a visiting Praying Mantis in our room.
So....don't expect much from the hotel and you won't be disappointed. The view however is cracking overlooking Cîovo.
My problem is where to start. On arrival my Friend and I on being told that our room was on the second floor asked if someone could take the case up....simple request (we are both pensioners)...answer - not a service that they provided !!! So if it had not been for a lovely man who took pity on us we would have struggled... so thank you whoever you are...into our room - no fridge - no tea or coffee making facilities and no safe for valuables at this point we went for lunch...now to say it was a restaurant I feel gives the impression that the food would be reasonable .. mashed potato was powered and when put on your plate it was a slop..awful the rest of the meals followed in the same fashion Omelette for breakfast that you could bounce on the floor..veg as a breakfast option and I mean carrots etc ..so much so that we ate out at the caravan park along the road where the food was amazing. As for the wine .... if you want water in your wine then fine we again agreed that it was easier to take the water taxi and go to Trogir.
We arrived on a Thursday and when we had had no clean towels by Monday I went to ask why not....answer The washing machine was not working but someone would try to get us something... they did thankfully but if you do the fluffy towels bit then these were certainly not to your liking... a tad thin and hard.
Now at my age I have travelled over many continents and stayed in many hotels...NEVER have I experienced such bad food and wine as this hotel which in reality is in a beautiful spot and has a lot going for it. If anyone should say that this place had a Chef then I give up. My advice is think long and hard before booking this hotel it is not for the faint hearted.
Staff is excellent. Every encounter, service, and also Eklata animation team were amazing . I do not have enough words for their engagement, effort and kindness . For all the animation activities.
I can not say this for the food. Not tasty, many things are frosen ( cevapici for example etc...),not decently cut, but apparently not inviting...in the rooms you can smell mold...many things unkempt .
It would be ok for the cheaper price , specially it is too expensive for three star .
My worst nightmare. Buyer beware. There are 2 Jadran hotels, same name, entirely different locations. Taxi driver took me to wrong location. Then taxi back to right location. Euro 120 later and late. Hotel old, dated and inconvenient if you have luggage. Rooms very basic, not unlike my Grandmother's guest cottage, complete with English print on the wall and fabric from the 60s at the windows. They had held a plate for me as a late arrival. School dinner plate covered in foil. 5 types of meat and a hunk of bread. Not a vegetable in sight. Surly dining room attendant who was no less surly the following moment. Just an awful experience. Never again. Lesson learned.
Hotellet har bra läge och fantastisk utsikt. Vänlig personal. Acceptabla priser, helt ok mat, gammal inredning.
