Rooms very comfortable and spacious
Very friendly staff and helpful as we had a dog with us and they were happy to accommodate her staying with us whilst we ate
My wife found it difficult getting in and out of the bath when she showered also a mat in the bath would have been good to avoid slipping Comfortable
Nice hotel, decent bar, plenty of parking and a good breakfast
Mattress very springy and noisy springs
I was very pleasantly surprised and totally enjoyed our stay.
Just a suggestion, the breakfast - was good we need to wait for replenishment of the items. And the coffee, a nice filter coffee would be great in the morning instead of the instant. Otherwise well worth the money.
Location
Damp bed and strong smell of mould
Location was perfect spotless comfortable beds and the price with breakfast nobody could complain would definitely stay again
Had to send a bad drink back but l was still charged for it apart from that everything was great and enjoyable
I want to be nice on reviews but this place is just a bit sad. The pillowcases were stained. There was a chair on the driveway in front of our room. It is dated and dingy. The restaurant was fine but chaos at breakfast. The staff were so friendly though.
Lots. Read above.
There was one pleasant helpful woman on rececption.
My room was dark and because it looked directly onto a road meant I had to keep the curtain closed even in daytime to maintain privacy. The furniture was dull, dark and paint chipped. Pillows were lumpy. On arrival the person who checked me in seemed confused about what they should be doing. Room servicing was terrible.
I had an issued with water coming through the ceiling from the room above. I reported this and the fact the light was not working. Nobody sorted the light out. Two days later on my last night it happened again,
Breakfast was terrible and limited. Cooked food was greasy. No proper coffee at breakfast only instant.
I would like to emphasise there was one member of the reception staff who was pleasant and helpful.
WiFi either kept dropping out or was not working at all.
Lokatie was perfect. Op loop afstand kleine centrum dicht bij lidl.
Niks viel tegen. Alleen hadden wij geen warm water in ons eerste verblijf. Maar kregen na het melden meteen een andere.
Bar and restaurant staff very friendly and went above and beyond
Birds in roof and when we reported receptions staff were uninterested
Room had a musty smell
The room and bathroom were spacious and the bed was comfy.
The bathroom floor was very noisy/creaky. The lift was also very noisy and seemed to have a mind of it's own as to what floor it would stop on. The food offered was not the most appetising and all self service with only one poor staff member to assist everyone. On the whole the building seems a little neglected and dated.
Awesome service, location and rooms.
Ideal spot in Thurso to stay and enjoy your holidays.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
Rooms in the main building are spacious and comfortable.
2 rooms from our group weren't ready at check in despite it being 6pm. Restaurant/staff, whilst friendly, seemed completely untrained. Breakfast service was a little chaotic. The rooms in the main building are ok but the external chalets are in need of repair/refurbishment.
The only thing we liked was the location. Easy walking distance to Wolfburn Distillery or into Thurso itself.
Lodge looked like a toilet block. Inside of Lodge paper peeling off walls, no hairdryer, no teaspoon, only one saucer, cups were dirty and needed changed, hand basin wasn't clean, toilet had wee AND poo under seat, cleaners were called back twice to deal with it. Staff in the bar were more interested in chatting to each other instead of serving customers. Breakfast was chaotic, with one member of staff being told off in front of customers. Ran out of tea bags at breakfast time. I had to ask for teabags, coffee and milk in the lodge. I eventually got a hairdryer after previously being told there wasn't one. Very poor stay.
Nothing had to find other hotel they had given our room away offered another annex room but not what we were wanting so had to find another hotel late in evening
After room given away we had to find another hotel we sorted that out we then received a call from this hotel saying they had mixed things up and had moved our room to there sister hotel Ferry Inn but to late
Near to Scrabster and Orkney ferry.
Had a lodge which was very dirty and uninviting from outside (rat traps too). Cobwebs above door, curtain rail had discoloured masking tape holding it together. Window was so dirty inside as well as outside, the previous occupants had even drawn in the dirt and it hadn’t been touched. But at least the bed was clean!
When I spoke to staff , they seemed to have heard it all before and I heard another resident complaining at breakfast about how dirty their room had been.
Breakfast was ok, the young lady trying to keep everything going was lovely.
Location , good sized room, staff in bar /restaurant were pleasant.
No fridge in room, evening meal was the beef cheek pie needed gravy as pastry and mash made the meal dry.
