The location is very easy to find.
The staff is super supportive, specially Kudos to Daniel.
Very dim room lighting and one of the light bulbs was not even working.
Also, we were not able to close the window because its stuck and it got really cold in the night.
Large room. Restaurant & Bar on-site
Bit run down but OK.

Great location for ferry to Orkney. Good parking. Staff friendly & helpful.
Hotel generally tired. Entrances dirty, flower beds unkempt, litter everywhere.
We had room 24, a separate bit of the hotel by the lodges. Coach parties seemed to be accommodated in the main hotel. We were downstairs & had noise from the upstairs rooms, ? like ours, are they uncarpeted? The bed was next to the road & pavement, so we had to keep the curtains drawn. A net curtain or window frosting would have helped with privacy.
The room was large, but well worn & stale smelling, with smoking going on outside our door & drifting in.
The breakfast experience was not good. We had an early ferry to catch, so went to eat at 07.00, opening time. A large coach party was queuing before us & demolished the food put out. So many people, limited food supplies. Rolls, croissants, eggs, bacon etc gone before we got there.
There were no hot plates for hot food & an urn supplied water for tea & instant coffee, which isn't what you would expect in a hotel.
The toaster, hot drink facilities & food on one table caused chaos, as the coach party guests crowded everyone else out, letting their friends push in etc. We had to wait while they made their toast & drinks before we could get our hot food, what little was left.
We had just 30 minutes to have breakfast. Not a good experience.
Ideal venue for overnight stay whilst completing the NC500 route.
Room allocated for 3 persons had 2 beds and one sofa bed that had to be made up yourself on arrival. The sofa bed proved to be very uncomfortable (saggy mattress) so at least one person had a very poor sleep. No evening meal was available due to a large wedding party at the hotel. This was not relayed to us until arrival and we had to find an alternative venue in Thurso for a meal. Breakfast could have been better. A disappointing stay.
Room was squalid , dirty ,cold , no heating in the bathroom and wall panel radiator was extremly slow , no real facilities, TV didnt work no cups or spoons , bathroom was atrocious. Main hotel was grimy . Food was ok . It was more like a locals pub. Breakfast was very disorganised and had to wait even though it was a buffet type. I couldnt wait to get out.
