The Berkman

Location. It was very clean, the staff where amazing. It was like a home away from home. I would recommend The Berkman and will definitely be staying here again. I was in a studio apartment and loved having a kitchen space including dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer.

Very clean hotel. The employees were excellent. Very accommodating,my husband is disabled and they did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. They installed grab bars in the shower,brought in a shower stool and put hand rails around the toilet so he wouldn’t fall. The best place we have ever stayed at. Will definitely book again the next time we are in Rochester,Mn.

Close to St Mary’s hospital, clean.

Staff was helpful

When checking in, the staff was friendly and explained everything. Checking our was fast and easy. Had multiple things to do on level 4 like shuffle board, pool table, weight room, etc

Wonderful check-in experience. The room was spacious and clean. Nice and quiet. Great to have the Red Cow attached to the Hotel!!

We have stayed at the Berkman many times and they accommodate us and our dogs with kindness, friendliness and patience.

My husband and I stayed at the Berkman for 17 days while our son was hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic. It was an oasis from the stress that comes with having a loved one in the hospital. In fact, the Berkman kind of recharged my battery so I could go back to the hospital and be strong for our son.

The caring, welcoming staff made us feel at home throughout our stay. The staff member who works the night shift was particularly sweet. She greeted me (and everyone else) like an old friend each morning when I entered the lobby to catch the morning shuttle to the hospital.

The Berkman provides a free hourly shuttle to the Methodist Hospital. If I missed the shuttle, I walked across the street to St Mary’s Hospital and took the Mayo Clinic shuttle. It arrived every 20 minutes or so. This saved us from parking downtown and reduced our need to rely on Uber.

Sounds like a small point, but I appreciated the free FLAVIA coffee brewer coffee in the lobby, especially as I was out the door very early. Yes, I could have prepared coffee in the room because it came stocked with fresh coffee beans, grinder and drip coffee maker but the coffee from those little packets was great.

We had an airy spacious two-bedroom apartment style suite. It included a fully stocked kitchen with an oven so we could make proper meals and avoid going out to eat. There is a grocery store within walking distance (Fresh Thyme) and many other grocery store options with a few miles drive.

The hotel apartment was well appointed but we would have appreciated a coffee or side table in the living room space. The facility was spotless and included a large exercise room with lots of equipment. I had hoped to use that room/equipment more but had little time outside of the hospital.

If I could give the Berkman 6 stars I would. While I hope we don’t need to travel back to the Mayo Clinic, if we do, we’ll return to the Berkman.

We stayed at The Berkman while my husband was being seen at Mayo. The Berkman staff was very kind and helpful during our stay. The apartment we stayed in was clean, and peaceful which was wonderful to have post operatively for him.

The Berkman is our go to place to stay in Rochester, MN. If you’re coming to Rochester and want a place that feels like home, has every amenity you actually use, and puts you as close to Saint Marys as physically possible, The Berkman is the obvious choice. The rooms are excellent, the amenities are plentiful, the location simply can’t be beat, and the staff is quick to address your needs. We really enjoy staying there when in town and don't ever consider other options at this point.

Loved the place however the 2 fire alarms for a 2 day stay was a detriment to the ambiance. If you take the shuttle to the Gondo building be prepared for the hard working flamingo shuttle driver. She loves her customers and her job.

Excellent accommodations for the price and excellent service!! Will stay here whenever we are in Rochester! Plus if you have to go to Mayo the hospital is across the street or they provide shuttle service free!

Absolutely amazing hotel! All the amenities and staff is amazing! Extremely nice to have a full kitchen and space as my husband is battling cancer!

This was our second stay at The Berkman, and once again it was outstanding.
Pristine-clean, beautifully furnished, and consistently great service. The beds are super comfortable, the shower has amazing water pressure, and the gym is top-notch. The location couldn’t be better—right across from Mayo St. Mary’s, which is ideal if you’re in town for medical care. Plus, it’s an easy walk to plenty of restaurants. Highly recommend.

Great experience. Love the convenience of the location & free shuttle. The room was very comfortable & clean. Several great eating options nearby.
