The Berkman

The Berkman is a best-kept secret. It's like staying at a 5-star hotel for an incredibly reasonable price. The 4th floor game room and lounge is awesome and the pool is a welcome bonus. We loved our stay!

Absolutely Excellent. We have been staying at the Berkman for over 5 years and we have never had a poor experience. Their staff, amenities, rooms, and everything else about our stays have been excellent. The price for the stay does seem a bit steep when you first see the price. If you take advantage of the kitchen, in lieu of eating out, it makes the trip a great value. Being located next to the Mayo clinic is convenient and even with the construction the noise level is not too bad. Would absolutely recommend this stay

We stayed in a two bedroom unit for almost two weeks while my daughter was having testing done at Mayo. The location is very convenient to the main Mayo campus. The Berkman is a nice mix of luxury hotel with the conveniences of a condo rental. The pool was very nice to relax at after a long day. The amenities room on the 4th floor and the various lounge areas were really nice as well. The unit was clean and well stocked to cook. It was nice having the cleaning service every third day as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again!

The Berkman is one of a kind. The experience is an oasis in the middle of town with all the amenities you would need. Plus, the staff is upon incredible. It made my work week go by with added comfort. Almost, like I was home away from home. I would highly recommend the Berkman.

My husband and I stayed at the Berkman, Rochester, Minnesota in June 2026. The location was excellent, across from the hospital where one of us was a patient; it also offered nice, green and peaceful areas to walk around.
The hotel overall was very clean and hospitable and the apartment we stayed in had all the amenities needed for our one week stay. The personnel was professional and friendly and all our requests were met promptly.

It was so quiet! You could walk around the 4th floor pool area and look at the city below. The hospital is right across the street and easy to get to even with the construction.

I am particular. We just completed our 5th stay! From staff to rooms every thing is exceptional. We needed a lot of help on this trip and staff went way out of their way to support our needs in every way possible I give the Berkman our highest praise and gratitude.. You will not be disappointed.. 🤗

Wonderful staff and outdoor patios. The living room area was quite small and the bedroom had only one light and one bedside table.

The Berkman experience was exceptional in every way, staff, amenities, and location.

I recently stayed at The Berkman for a full week, and I cannot say enough good things about this property. Having a luxury apartment-style setup was an absolute game-changer. My suite was immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and featured a fully-equipped kitchen and an in-unit washer and dryer—which made a week-long trip incredibly convenient and comfortable.

The amenities here go way beyond a standard hotel. I loved taking advantage of the fitness center, the golf simulator, and the gorgeous rooftop terrace. If you have a car, the underground parking garage is fantastic.

The staff at the front desk and the concierge were always warm, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed.

Stylish design, beautiful renovation, and a very comfortable atmosphere overall. It was such a nice change from many older Midwest American hotels that can feel outdated after 40–50 years.

Spacious room, even though we booked a studio. Since the rooms are designed more like apartments, it truly felt comfortable for a family stay. My son even had enough space to sleep on the small couch in the living area.

We had absolutely everything needed in the room: a full kitchen with all cookware and dishes, plus even a washer and dryer inside the unit. Lots of storage space: several closets and storage areas, which made it feel even more like home.

Overall, The Berkman feels modern, practical, and thoughtfully designed, especially for families with kids or longer stays.

Overall great experience staying at the Berkman for 32 nights during and after my husband’s surgery/hospital stay and his extended recovery. We had a 2bdrm 2 bath suite with full kitchen. The location and amenities were incredibly convenient and comfortable, making a stressful health situation much more tolerable. The fitness center, bike storage, and concierge were all highlights. We can’t imagine a better place to stay if receiving medical care at Mayo for patients and extended family. The two bedroom unit gave us plenty of space with extended family/caregivers staying in the same space.

Our only complaint is that, as others have described, the HVAC system does not give you control over whether you are heating, cooling or on a fan-only setting— it is apparently centrally controlled and dependent on the outside temperature. We spent a few uncomfortably hot nights in our 14th floor apartment unable to bring the temp below 75. Opening windows was not enough to bring the temp down. The thermostat was set/stuck on heat only (no fan option), so we purchased our own plug-in portable fans at Target to bring outside cool air in, placed next to the small window openings. This was pretty disappointing for an otherwise very modern, well-equipped building, and for the cost—I hope they fix it!! But all of the other positives of the staff and building grossly outweighed this negative for us and we would definitely stay here again.

A great home away from home, especially if you are visiting the Mayo Clinic. The fourth floor has a great gym, common area, office space for working, and much more (including coffee!). The concierge and management team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. And they are pet friendly:)

There was an issue with the temperature in my room during the night. It was 82 degrees when I checked in and I used the AC to cool the room. However during the night the outside temperature dropped below 55 degrees and the building’s system switched from cooling to heat and my room got very warm during the night. The staff was very understanding and offered to provide a portable air conditioner on my next stay. I have been staying at the Berkman often during the last four years and this is the first time I have ever had an issue. The accommodations and staff are outstanding.
