Lovely
Pros:

We had a lovely wee overnight stay here.

The room was nice and clean, though it’s definitely in need of a refurb. The floors were quite noisy, the TV felt outdated, and the furniture could do with a lift. That said, it was a great size and the bathroom was spotless and well maintained.

The pool was great, and both the steam room and sauna were excellent. The changing rooms are a bit tight, but if you’re staying in the hotel it’s only a quick change and back to your room, so not a major issue.

The bar is lovely — beer was cold and, importantly, no complaints from the wife about the Prosecco! The only downside was that with the restaurant currently being refurbished, the bar area was extremely crowded, leaving nowhere to properly sit and enjoy a pint.

The food was magnificent — simply fantastic.

Breakfast was decent, but I have to ask… why no haggis or square sausage on a Full Scottish?

We had a wander around and both wedding rooms are absolutely stunning — the views really are a joy. The setting of this hotel is probably its jewel in the crown.

We’ll definitely be back next year once most of the refurbishment is complete.

Thanks for having us.

Just missed the mark
Pros:

Been wanting to stay for years and gifted meal vouchers finally made it possible. Decent sized family room with sea view but only a double bed (I looked back and this was in the description to be fair). I just would have expected a bigger bed for a hotel of this calibre. Couple of other small points for the room but overall it was clean and roomy. I do have to say the food was outstanding, the staff were lovely and that made the stay. We had guests with noisy young children next door but that could happen anywhere. Not the hotels fault at all.

Avoid - not as advertised, hotel is in the middle of refurbishment
Pros:

Due to a change of plans, we booked two nights DBB £642, for my wife and I as a last minute trip for my 40th.
Incredibly disappointed, ended up leaving after one night.
Nowhere during the booking process on the hotel website does it say that the hotel is in the middle of a major renovation. (Screenshots attached)
The hotel room was dated, TV was about 20 years old so not able to cast to TV, mould on the toilet ceiling, bedding had holes in it, bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, had to request towels as there was only one in the room.
Due to refurbishment, the only place to eat and drink is in the hotel bar.
On the first night, our meal was booked for 6pm and we were rushed by staff. No sooner was our starter finished, our main arrived and it seemed like they couldn't get us out quick enough so the next booking could come in, three course meal in 45 minutes!.
However, as there was an event on in the hotel on night one and a wedding on night 2, there was no other bar or anywhere else to sit and have a drink so we had to go back to our room.
On the second day, breakfast was OK, no better than a premier inn, not a 4 star hotel.
We used the spa on the 2nd day which was OK.
On the 2nd day, we went to the bar at 4pm, you have to wait to be seated as it was table service. We stood patiently for 10 minutes while at least four staff looked at us and then simply ignored us as a queue was forming behind us.
Eventually, what we assume was a manager came out of the kitchen, and we got a seat. We then waited another 10 minutes for someone to come to our table to order a drink before we decided to leave.
The fact that we had paid a lot of money to come to a 4 star hotel and we couldn't even sit anywhere and relax with a beer is a joke.
When we complained that the website doesn't state about the renovations, the duty manager Stephen was very unhelpful, and adamant that it was. The website only mentions the restaurant being closed if you try to book a table, not a room.
Stephen response was "thats not my responsibility, its the marketing team".
When we asked for a refund for our second night's stay, he refused and said its not their policy to provide a refund and we would need to speak to another manger tomorrow.
After a begrudged apology, we checked out and left, incredibly disappointed and weekend ruined.

Poor Value for Money

Very disappointing on various fronts.
Not anywhere near worth £250 for 1 night dinner, bed & breakfast.

Excellent Mini Break
Pros:

First class accommodation and food in very pleasant surroundings.
All members of staff at every level are extremely efficient and very polite in carrying out their duties.
Be very careful in mentioning any mobility difficulties in negotiating stairs as some accommodation can be at a distance from Reception involving stairs with of course the use of a lift as well.

Seamill Hydro Experience
Pros:

Fab hotel. Thoroughly recommend. Everything was top class. Bit of refurbishment going on but didn’t make any difference. Absolutely gorgeous bar with view it to Arran, could have sat there all day. Will definitely be back.

First visit
Pros:

The positive part of the stay was our dining experience and efficiency and friendliness of staff.
Spa facilities were very busy and not used by us.
Bed and bedding in the room requires an upgrade as it did not encourage a comfortable sleep experience.

Comfortable hotel with great ambiance
Pros:

Friend and I spent 2 nights in a classic sea view room. We were both impressed by the room. And both felt the deal was brilliant. The hotel is having quite a bit of work done but this didn't detract from our experience. Fabulous hotel with fantastic staff!!

another great time at Seamill Hydro
Pros:

from start to finish everything was great. We've been coming here for years and we always enjoy it and we've never had a compliant about anything. The staff are really good and go out of their way to get what you need. Our children and our grandchildren love going here over the years, so that shows you how good it is.

In need of updating
Pros:

I have just returned from a 1 night stay . The hotel is very nice but the room in the courtyard was tired and in need of updating . View was the car park . Maybe there are nicer rooms within the actual hotel ? A bit disappointing to be honest

Glen Rosa Suite
Pros:

We stayed in the Glen Rosa suite for valentines, the room was outstanding & the nicest touch with a rose & chocolate covered strawberry’s delivered.

The only thing that didn’t work was the instant hot water in the kitchen area but apart from that I could not fault it.

We had bathrobes & slippers which was lovely for coming out the jacuzzi bath.

Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding plates came out roasting & service was wonderful staff were really nice.

All in all I would highly recommend booking

Very Relaxing Stay
Pros:

Really enjoyed our stay. Good food choice, which was delicious and staff were very helpful and courteous. We used all the facilities, which helped make our stay so enjoyable. We were happy with our room, my husband slept soundly but for me the pillows were too soft, which gave me some issues sleeping, I use a specific pillow type and should have taken it with me. Overall a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend it.

Lovely stay
Pros:

We visited on 11/02/2025 for a dinner bed and breakfast deal. We had a lovely stay. Our room was nice and very clean on arrival. We used the pool which is lovely but we found the pool to be quite cold and the changing rooms weren’t the cleanest- the cubicles had dust inside them and looked like they hadn’t been clean for some time. There is renovation works going on in the hotel at the moment but this didn’t really bother us as the work seemed to finish around 5pm and not start until after 9am the following morning.

The highlight of our stay was the food and our service in the aura restaurant. The food was 100% the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was also the same.

The star of our stay was the lovely Zack in the aura restaurant. His knowledge of the menu was great and he was able to provide recommendations when asked. His service was 10/10 and his professional but warm, chatty and personable manner made us enjoy our meal more! He was even compassionate when I had a minor injury from burning myself in the room getting me ice for this- above and beyond! He really is an absolute asset to your hotel.

Needs better customer service.
Pros:

Hotel lovely but not a great stay. Booked 3 rooms for myself and 2 other couples. Requested courtyard rooms. The email confirmed 3 courtyard rooms with dinner reservations made.
On checking in only 2 rooms in the courtyard and one in the main hotel. Receptionists couldn’t explain why the email confirmation said 3 courtyard roams but only 2 allocated.
The suite we stayed in was nice but a little dated.
When for dinner to find out that although we had made the reservation 2 weeks earlier they couldn’t sit us all together. There was a large booth which would have accommodated us they have given it to a party of 3. There was plenty of other tables which could have been put together for us but they had already been given away. Kind of ruined the night. I wouldn’t dream of going out to a restaurant and the party put at different tables. Bad organisation.
The food was ok.
In the morning they said they didn’t have our reservation for breakfast even though I had watched the receptionist write it in.
My friend staying in the main building came done with wet hair as the hairdryer in her room was broken.
My friends and I have stayed many times in most of the RAD hotels over the years including the Seamill and have enjoyed ourselves but this time was definitely not up to the standard we have enjoyed before.
