Great location, excellent breakfast, very nice people.
The shower not very good.
Location was Brilliant for Pier , Beach, Pubs and Eateries.
Old and Dated Hotel with the need for some freshening up. Didn't eat at the Hotel but food looked OK.
Staff were excellent, and the food was delicious..
Shower unit was to small.
The location
Two single beds pushed together to make double,
Mould on the ceiling
Shower broken
No glasses for drinks in the room
Or drinking water
Fridge would have been nice
Our room had not been cleaned since the previous user, so unmade bed, dirty toilet, full bin, used cups etc. Were then allocated a different room. Room was tired and poorly maintained. Windows slammed if open, so we had to keep them closed. Shower pressure was awful. Won’t ever return.
As above.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The woman who checked us into our room on Friday 8 May was especially nice! The room was spacious and the location was great.
The floor in the bathroom was very uneven and felt a bit unsafe. It was difficult to keep the shower head aimed correctly, as it kept dropping. The pillows were very flat.
The location and the staff who were helpful when we had issues.
The cleanliness, beds and state of the rooms themselves. The first room we were given, had not been turned down. Went to the reception and this was rectified. However the second room had a broken window, and I found a pill on the floor. Felt the room was a little tired looking on the whole. Did not have time or the heart to complain again.
Location was excellent, access was good parking was close.
Everytime I have stayed there the staff are very friendly
There is nothing
When we arrived for our short weekend stay, we we're met by friendly staff.
Our room was spacious and clean with a sea view, service at the hotel was 1st class, as nothing was too much trouble.
We had a meal in the restaurant, which was cooked to perfection,
We would highly recommend the York hotel to anyone.
Many thanks to a very pleasant experience.
B Piper.
Close to the beach/restaurants and pier etc
The rooms we had had no resemblance to the photos on bookin.com,
The headroom was awful around the bed so be prepared to bang your head,
and the very low windows allowed everyone below to see right in and right up into the room,
Also our room stink of paint but for the life of me I couldn’t see anything in the room that had been repainted this decade, the chippies next door extractor fan blows chippy fat smell into the room,
Tv is tiny,
You wouldn’t operate the Shower door or turn the shower on/off buttons if you had any sort of arthritis or weak wrists,
Then there’s the questionable sticky substances on the floor around the bed,
I was walking round in my boxer shorts and Chelsea boots,
You couldn’t walk around the room barefooted,
Also the entrance hall floods when it rains and is slippery,
(no warning signs were put out)
this is a true and honest review, I have photos and video evidence to support my groans, I did ask for a 50% refund from the £108 per night paid as the room was basically a £50 a night room, to which I was refused, I genuinely wouldn’t stay there again,
Excellent location
It was a bit dated
Staff very friendly. Great location. Lovely food.
Very small room. Dated. Tired.
