Nothing much

The staff are fab, entertainment on the evening a great bonus. Breakfast was good .on the negative side, the room was very unloved. Mould in corner, rubbish from previous guest under one of the beds. Carpet and lino coming up from floor. Loose towel rail ,couldnt tell which was the hot tap and we kept getting a strange toilet smell wafting in the bathroom when we hadn't used it
Basic low budget hotel with evening entertainment and meals provided. Two coach tour parties there at the time of my stay. Unfortunately my single room was above the entertainment area and was very noisy until it finished approximately 11:30 p.m. I'm sure this wouldn't bother many people but as a cyclist I was looking to get my head down earlier.
Carpets were a little sticky, and the toilet was smelly, probably from around the base where urine had seeped under the toilet and into the lino flooring - difficult to clean I know but would benefit from a silicon sealant seal around the base of the toilet.
Bed was very soft and springy.
All things considered for the tariff I paid it was good value.
Great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and there was bingo and a singer which created a nice atmosphere in the evening
The lift would only take 2 people and took a long time and the stairs were very steep.I couldnt manage them easily due to a recent injury. the bed was not comfortable and the cupboard in the small corner room we were in was not sturdy atall so when opened it started to tip over. there was also a dirt mark on the bottom of the sheet and the windows had alot of condensation inside the double glazing. I dont feel it was good value for money staying in such a small room for 80 pounds for one night but i was told it is under new management so they might have new plans for the hotel. The other room that we booked was a bit bigger and had better furniture.
It was ok,just a tired building.
Nice and warm room for the night, a little small but that was for the cheapest room so only to be expected. And I'm a giant, if you're normal sized you'll be fine :-) Always nice to visit a proper hotel with reception, bar / restaurant staff etc rather than some converted terrace. Top brekky too.
Excellent value for money
Staff very cheery and helpful
Food great
Entertainment good

They had brand new fans available for us; iron and ironing board available as well. Drinks in the lounge were very reasonable. Games and quizes. Something for everyone. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. They even have dinners and will make you a sack lunch to have a day out. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Slight issue with the lidt and fire alarm, but nothing major. Will definitely return
Second time ive stayed at the silversands hotel, it was looking a bit drab and old fashioned, but its getting a bit of a faceift and looking quite nice.
Entertainment each evening is good.
But there is a Scottish bloke called steve, whos quite entertaining until he starts sing Penny Arcade. Ha ha ha worse still is when he sings Tequila. Staff are great especially Lauren and jenny. Im sure i will be back. Clare and Lulu xx
Excellent service and value 👏
Good stay for one night, really enjoyed the breakfast. Could be a bit cleaner.
Great value. Very clean. Excellent English breakfast Lovely friendly staff. 😊 x
Staff was great. Meals great room nice but small
Room was cosy, clean and bed / pillows very comfortable. Perfect for a place to rest your head after a full day / evening out.
Easy to find and just a short stroll to the water or Pleasure Beach.
Rooms and public areas clean and tidy. Staff very good.
Catering very poor, breakfast poor quality cheap ingredients and overcooked. Booked in for dinner on a pre-order only to be told at dinner time they didn't have enough beef, asked by the server did we won't roast pork which we said no. Astounded to be asked if we wanted a plate of veg and potatoes. Duty manager apologised and gave us a contribution to dinner elsewhere. You really shouldn't "run out" of items when dinner is on a pre-order. Had booked via Caledonian Travel for New Year but going to cancel now!
The hotel was clean staff where very friendly will definitely be going back .
Enjoyed my time there.
There was nothing to say about that
Couldn't fault then
Very average place at an average price...
Clean and safe, but dated decor and facilities.
WiFi only available in limited areas.
Breakfast like an episode of Fawlty Towers...
On day one It took three staff to decide where I should sit, then there was already a pot of (very weak) tea on the table. I asked for coffee instead and was told "every table gets a pot of tea!"
Day two, more tepid tea and no coffee... seemingly invisible as staff scurried past without taking my order then 3 asked within 5 minutes!
PS still waiting for day one's coffee...
