Only one working elevator, pool out of order, all ice machines not working, wall fall down in shower ceiling falling down in shower door to room could only open 45 degrees do to floor and carpet blocking it from opening i room had stains on floors and box spring of bed.

It was fine

Staff was nice. Pool is listed as a amenity and was not avaliable. I want a discount because it was not avaliable.

Terrible place to stay. Had to switch rooms b/c toilet broke. Carpets filthy. Will never stay there again.

Clean room

They charged me 3x for the same stay after their reservation systems kept having problems. They sent guests into our locked room at 1am even though we were already checked in. The same thing happened again the next day. They wanted my information again each time and assured me I wouldn't be charged again. No such luck. Charged 3x and both hotel phone numbers do not work and Wingate customer service sends you to a number that doesn't work. Avoid at all costs.

This hotel is located near a freeway, so traffic noise is to be expected. The hotel itself was ok, clean but had an old feel to it. Pool smell was obvious when you walk in the main entrance. Staff was friendly.

Good place to stay when visiting Virginia Tech. Front desk very pleasant. Beds comfortable. Pillows could be better. Room was very clean.

WE pay over $ 500.00 for one night thinking we were going to a nice hotel. WE will never use Expedia again.
Terrible experience.

This hotel is in deplorable condition and is shamelessly exploiting Virginia Tech families during Parents Weekend, charging an outrageous $433 per night for a stay for a sub par experience. This is not hospitality—it’s opportunistic gouging paired with neglect.

What you get for $433/night: 1) The hotel hallways smell. The odor is sour and stale, like it’s been sealed off for months; 2) A faucet in my room (207) did not have any water pressure, you get a dripping faucet to brush your teeth and attempt to wash your hands; 3) A towel bar falling out of the wall, not loose—dangling!! but don’t forget the broken tiles & drain plug in the tub; 4) No working ice machines. Every floor, out of order. No alternatives offered, or explanations; 5) No clean towels available. Guests are told they’ll have to wait until housekeeping catches up; 6) Rooms aren’t cleaned. Staff admit they’re short on housekeepers, so don’t expect fresh sheets or a tidy room-even after being gone for 10-hours; 7) No manager in sight. Donna Bryant, the listed manager, has been “unavailable” for 2-days despite multiple requests. No accountability, no follow-up.

This is not a premium experience. It’s a slap in the face to families who came to support their students and expected basic standards of cleanliness, service, and professionalism. Wyndham should be ashamed of this predatory pricing and lack of oversight.

I’ll be warning every VT parent I know to steer clear of using this hotel for any VT events.

I waited in line for an hour to check in to this dirty old run down hotel and ultimately left. I prepaid 581.00 for this over priced dump. The management is rude and they are understaffed. The pictures show a clean new looking hotel. It is not.

For a small, inexpensive hotel on a college road trip we were really impressed. Super clean and new. Would stay here again.

Everything was broken or in poor condtion. The room was hot, the shower was cold, even tje toilet seat was broken

I need to share my critique directly, but I cannot recommend this hotel.

While the hotel was a decent place to stay, the hotel backs up to Interstate 81, so all night you heard trucks going by. It might be different on the other side of the hotel, so if staying, ask for a front room.

Decent for the price, close to everything.

Everything is good except WiFi.

We've started here probably a dozen times, visiting our studentat VirginiaTech. The rooms are clean. The hotel has always been quiet. It's usually super cheap, but it gets the job done.

Room and bathroom is large. We have to ask for shampoo after checking. The car noise from I81 can be heard in room. It take forever to get elevator. Breakfast is total emptied at 8:30 AM, while it supposed to be served until 9:30. The manager told me they are making more while the server said they don't have anymore. It is not worth to spend the money here just to sleep, its not cheap.
