The Ambassador Hotel

we arrived on a Thursday afternoon upon check-in read a letter saying the pool was closed from April 21 through the 25th to learn that it was never going to be opened and no one alerted us of this prior to our arrival. The first room that was assigned us smelt like dogs because they rent out the rooms and have residence living there we got upgraded to an oceanfront with a balcony or oceanfront balcony. Glass door was bolted shut because lolly columns were holding up the six story structure. Overall the hotel did not compare to what was advertised on the website. It was extremely disappointing. There's a lot of character and charm that I expected due to the age of the hotel but I learned that it will be torn down this summer and replaced Palm Beach is beautiful. I would recommend that area, but I would not recommend staying at the ambassador the staff was very friendly and accommodating, but no one seemed to address the ongoing issues. The beach was not clean. The cabanas were broken. There were not enough chairs for guests

I checked in on a Monday and checked out on Friday. Staff were very kind and helpful. That was the only good part of the stay.

We booked an oceanfront view. We did not know until we got into our room that the balcony was closed. We learned the balconies had been getting work done since October 2024 (I booked this trip in March 2025 and stayed in April). Reading the comments, I guess the price was reflected to show the balcony being unusable. But no where in the booking or the website did it say this. I think that’s completely unacceptable. There needs to be transparency.

The pool was closed when we were there. Not sure if this was expected or not. Just adding to the amenities that were unavailable during our stay.

Per the information sheet left in our room, housekeeping was to come every third day. They did not and in the fourth day we went to the front desk to ask for clean towels.

We found what looked to be termites in our bathroom. I understand it’s Florida and there’s going to be bugs, but just added to the list of problems we were experiencing.

Lastly, the pictures on the website were nothing like the room. It was very outdated. Transparency goes a long way.

Like I said, staff were super kind and helpful, but would not recommend staying here.

Everything about the hotel was a deception. The hotel is falling apart with an empty pool. Parts of the parking lt were roped as it were a crime scene since I guess the parts of the celing were failling down. Room was clean but had towels that a high school gym would have. Really old linen with not blankets or comforter. I heard from other guest that the hotel is schedule for demolition. Then perhaps it should get on with it and not recieve guests.

Definitely would not stay here again. The property was run down. The swimming pool area was closed because it was under renovation--there was no warning that the pool would be closed. The staff was mediocre. They gave us two bath towels and two wash clothes--no hand towels. Room was very dated. Had to move furniture around to get to any outlets. Only one cheap plastic chair on balcony.

There were roaches all over my room. When I spoke with the front desk about it, they did not seem surprised or bothered. I couldn't even get a refund. DO NOT book this place.

Lots of roaches and dirty floors. Very unsanitary.

The staff was amazing

We did like the old nostalgia look in the main building, beautiful old doors. The walkway areas could use some cleaning. The beds definitely need to be upgraded along with some of the furniture in the room (stained fabric chairs). Liked the layout of the room, big refrigerator with an ice maker in the freezer was a plus, also has a nice balcony.

Building is very old. We were in one room when we arrived then needed to switch rooms. Glad we did, the 1st room was so old, outdated and no comfy furniture. Staff was nice.

All the staff, including the Manager Robert, are the kindest, most charming and helpful people in this hotel. The Ambassador hotel is the most peaceful place to relax, rejuvenate and spend time on a beautiful beach. The pool is great to swim in at the end of a perfect day, again a peaceful place to unwind.
We both absolutely love your hotel, the view from our beachfront room is amazing, the kitchen, spacious bedroom and living areas are perfect!
I was exhausted from my life back home in Canada, and staying 2 weeks at the Ambassador made me feel like a healthy, happy new woman again!
Many thanks for a most memorable time. This holiday was our 3rd time staying at the Ambassador and we look forward to returning in September!

Run down hotel with poor amenities and service. 5 cabanas for entire hotel and 15 chairs! Things broken. No tp in one bathroom. Balcony closed dining closed.

The location was perfect for us, however the cleanliness of the room was not good. We had to buy a cleaner and paper towels to clean the kitchen floor because it was really slippery with some kind of oil on it. I also had brand new white socks that were completely trashed from walking across the floors. The front desk staff was very helpful in getting us towels and Ice when needed. Check in and check out process was really good. Ample parking was available. Elevator made a lot of noise when riding in it and numerous people commented on it when we shared. The blinds in our room would not cover the entire window because some of the blades were bent or missing. So privacy was a concern. Beach was clean.

the location is good but the maintenance is minimal my room’s vertical blinds were in wretched condition barely useful room and bath were clean but property condition is old and ill maintained.

Location of property was amazing because of access to beach. Our "Studio Suite King with Balcony" and the property overall left quite a bit to be desired.
1) Hair on outside of tub upon arrival.
2) Asbestos inside closet on pipe immediately to left behind louvered doors where water heater and AC unit are.
3) Filter on AC unit is disgusting.
4) Heat lamps in bathroom in ceiling - orange one had mold build up inside.
5) Shower / tub combo with frosted glass doors. Water head was orange, faucet control was dated, faucet leaked during shower, caulking around tub dirty and deteriorated. Vanity and sink were the nicest things in the bathroom.
6) Dead roach on floor third day and live roach on ceiling last two days.
7) Overall "dirty" feeling of area - especially beam above sofa, kitchen stove bottom, trim.
8) Furniture was damaged and dated.
9) Arrived to two pillows on the bed and none on the sofa.
10) Disgusting remote with crusted who knows what stuck in the buttons!
11) AC when running at night caused blinds to smack against the sliding glass door and wake us up all night long. (Curtains and blinds, so your guests are not disturbed at night and cannot have the sunlight shining in if they want it dark!)
12. Continental breakfast is defrosted bagels, croissants, muffins and fruit. Along with some cereal and yogurt options - nothing hot except tea, coffee and oatmeal. Breakfast service should start earlier.
13. Pictures are NOTHING like what the place looks like!

Place was very clean beds wer comfortable however a couple more pillows would have been nice. We got an ocean front 2 bedroom and had a balcony that you could not use. I spend a ton of time on the balcony when im at the beach so that was a HUGE disappointment. Yes i could see the ocean if i stood infront of the sliding doors or looking out the hazey window in the living room but that is not what i was expecting. They had a restaurant but it was closed while we were there (they are only open Wednesday- Sunday).
It was clean and quiet.

Everything was perfect, except one day when we got home, our door had been opened. Nothing was taken, but there was an uneasy feeling after that.
