Everything was great
The property was extremely clean and well kept. It was in close proximity to several restaurants and the gym to which my son was playing AAU basketball. Every member of the staff was very nice and helpful.
Nothing
We arrived around 7pm after completing online check-in. The parking lot was already filling up and was nearly full by the time we returned from dinner.
Our first-floor room followed the standard Hyatt Place layout and felt tidy overall, with a comfortable bed.
Unfortunately, the shower had noticeable mold/mildew along the caulk and edges — dark discoloration that is clearly visible in the attached photos and video. As a World of Hyatt Globalist, I was disappointed to be assigned a room with this issue, especially after seeing similar complaints in previous reviews. We chose to skip showering due to hygiene concerns.
Breakfast included the typical mix of hot and cold items. The coffee was good with plenty of creamers and sweeteners available. Hot options featured an egg-and-cheese fold, turkey sausage patties, and biscuits and gravy. The eggs and sausage were sitting in quite a bit of liquid, but the food tasted acceptable for a standard hotel breakfast.
This was an okay one-night stay at the Hyatt Place. The room was comfortable aside from the shower concern, but the persistent mold/mildew issue (noted by many other guests) along with somewhat lackadaisical staff attention and middling breakfast quality still seem to be ongoing challenges. It’s a convenient option for a quick overnight if these don’t bother you, but I had hoped for better execution given the Hyatt brand and my Globalist status.
Everything
Nothing
We enjoyed our stay at the Rockwall Hyatt. Breakfast was great, room was clean, bathroom had a walk in shower. Bed was comfortable and pillows were nice and plump. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hospitality was Great!
Room was dirty. Dirt rags left under the sink upon arrival. Floor was not clean. Strands of hair located on towels, rags and furniture.

Great location, clean rooms, and good staff
Breakfast was just okay. It did what it was supposed to do. Need better protein option
Very clean, friendly helpful staff! The beds were comfortable and I could not hear outside noises, I loved how quiet it was once in my room!
This is one of my favorite Hyatts to stay at in the Dallas area. I have family who live here and stay here several times a year. The staff is very friendly in the hotel is incredibly clean. The breakfast is good and I feel like it’s a safe area
Breakfast was poor
this was second stay at this hotel. I am currently undergoing cancer treatment. MY son lives in the area and we came up to visit him. This visit we had to bring our dogs since we didn’t have a dog sitter. THey are pet friendly.
ON our previous visit the “free” breakfast wouldn’t have plates when we went down. they don’t have disposable just hard plastic plates. They would run out. so knowing I needed to avoid crowds due to treatment we brought up a container so we could get our breakfast and eat it in the room since the hotel didn’t have paper plates.
I did this the first 2 mornings, put my breakfast in container and went upstairs to eat with my husband. IT was easier for me to carry for 2 people plus I have lost 40% of my vision due to treatment. This was so convenient for me. MY husband would walk the dogs while I got food.
I didn’t have an issue till last morning when a member of staff was giving me the stink eye. She then looked at me and said very rudely “you have takeout containers”? IT surprised and upset me. I said “yes we have dogs in the room we don’t want to leave alone so I brought these so I could eat in the room”. I said “is there a problem?” And she said “no” but not very friendly. It upset me greatly.
when we got home I was sent a review to complete. I made mention of the interaction in the review. I got a response from an Arianna saying thank you for your kind words and we will let staff know. I was confused because I addressed the food container situation.
Arianna then responded back and basically blamed me because it is against hotel policy to use take out containers at their free breakfast. This was news to me because every day I did this and passed the front desk on the way to my room. I was told I wasn’t allowed to do this for my convenience, I had to take the plastic plates to my room. Which meant multiple trips because we didn’t want dogs alone in room.
I really don’t understand how the hotel handled this. I can see if I was taking food from the hotel. I was just going to my room with my breakfast. IT allowed me to safely carry the food by myself. I travel frequently during treatment breaks and we bring food with us or we bring food back to our rooms any time we can. I don’t understand why the hotel handled this and why the messages I got back from the manager were so disagreeable. We will find a different hotel when we visit our son.
