Very authentic hotel with amazing hosts
Pros:

If you’re looking for an authentic little hotel to stay while visiting Santa Cruz, Enrique and his family will be the best host to make you discover the area with the greatest hospitality! Enrique is indeed a real passionate of wine and knows everything about the different wineries and wine labels, along with the best activities and restaurants in the surroundings! He will be more than happy to help you organise your visits of the vineyards!
We really enjoyed our evening conversation by the fireplace with a bottle of wine!
When it comes to the rooms, Tierra y Vino only has 6 (among which 2 bigger ones). The rooms are simple but comfortable. There is also a small swimming pool to enjoy during the hot days!
Thanks again Enrique for the lovely stay and your incredible hospitality!

What do you like?
Pros:

I don't usually write a review, but I had to write this one to warn fellow travelers.
First if you enjoy staying in a place that is run like a household, this is just what you need. My wife and I on the other hand enjoy a room that when rented is ours. This "hotel"(more like a home with six bedrooms), is not secure. When we asked for a key to the room after agreeing with the owner on prices, he replied with "why do you need one." We felt very uneasy, but after traveling for almost 15 hours to get there we rolled with it for the first night. Upon awaking we where waited on hand and foot for our breakfast, which for some might seem nice, but for us it was very uncomfortable to have the owner in our face the entire time (moving stuff around on the table, taking napkins off our laps and moving them as he pleased). It made us feel like infants and our father was helping us eat! Again, we went with the flow and tried to enjoy it.
Next, we decided to go out to explore the town and asked for the key to lock our room, he again was hesitant but handed us one. We also asked for our room not to be cleaned as we were only staying one more night and it didn't need it. After being out for a while we went back to the hotel to get a little rest and relaxation only to find our door and windows wide open and all of our towels gone! We felt violated to say the least. We packed our bags and left.
Again if you wish to stay in a place where the owner would tuck you in if you would let him, this place is for you!
But for my wife and I... No Thanks!

A gem between wineyards
Pros:

Santa cruz, Valle the colchagua is an excellent place to visit.
You will find the best of the chilean winerys there and a lot of other attractions, such a Casino, great restaurants, and pubs.
Any hotel would be ok for you to spend the night get some breakfast and start the tours.
But this is a very unique place, not only because the hotel is run by its owners, and they will make you feel welcome and at home.
But because they will take care of you as nothing you have seen before.
Enrique, the owner enjoys so much to plan everything for you, so you only have to worry about be on time where he send you.
From reservations for lunch, guided tours at the vineyards, romantic sunset, dinner at fancy restaurants, schedules for museums, recommendations to go party. No matter what you do, you will get the feeling by the end, there are a lot of stuff to do still and you will have the need to come back!
The breakfast is generous and fresh. cooked and served by the owners, delicious and all you can eat! fresh eggs, fresh bread, and fresh conversation!
On top of all this, the owner recommend to arrive on Fridays, so you can enjoy an open wine bar in the terrace!

Highly recommended - best place in Santa Cruz
Pros:

Enrique and his wife made our stay wonderful. Wine 24/7, cozy place and nice chat made us enjoy every minute of this lovely small hotel. They threat you by your name, offer top attention and wine and make feel very special. At the end, we thought it should be called Vino & Vino instead of Tierra & Vino. Highly recommended.

Amazing, just amazing!
Pros:

As many have mentioned Enrique and Veronica were outstanding hosts. Our stay was fantastic due to the wonderful hotel, its location and the owners' suggestions, attentiveness, warmth, and caring. The lovely evenings by the fire, delicious wines and conversation, all made for an exceptional trip. Loved it, and are so grateful to our gracious hosts.

Best Place To Stay In Santa Cruz
Pros:

I'm finally sitting down and getting caught up on my vacation reviews! If you are ever in Santa Cruz, don't hesitate to stay at Enrique's place. He is the best host! I cannot even begin to describe how helpful he was, but I am going to try.
First, this was a trip for my wife and I, and we are Americans. I found Hotel Tierra & Vino on Tripdvisor when I was already down in Chile. We booked it and were not disappointed. We got there in the afternoon and Enrique had arranged a wine tasting for us at Laura Hartwig (which I would highly recommend), and had taken us there within an hour of our arrival. He took care of our dinner reservations and dropped us off and picked us up as well. The next day, he arranged for a driver to take us to three different winery tours. That was after we went to the museum in the morning (also highly recommend, about an 8 minute walk from the hotel). We came back each night and drank wine on the patio while visiting with Enrique and some of the other guests. Enrique was also able to take us to and from dinner our second night as well.
Enrique basically recommended, and set up more things for us to do in the short amount of time that we were there, than we would have been able to on our own. His English is also very good, once in a while he would search for a word, but there was never a lack of communication or understanding. We met his wife and two of his daughters the second night that we were there as well. His youngest daughter also speaks excellent English. Enrique also called and helped us book our hotel in Pichilemu, and back in Santiago.
Breakfast is included and was great. I like to eat a big breakfast, and there was plenty of food. Eggs, breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, coffee, juice, the works.
There are only six? (I can't remember exactly, maybe eight) rooms at Enrique's and he goes out of his way to make guests feel special and cared for. The rooms are not huge, but were very clean. The bathrooms were nice, and had great water pressure.
I know that I'm leaving out many other things that he did for us (including wine), and I should have written this review months ago while it was all fresh in my head.
In summary, Enrique made our time in Santa Cruz fantastic. He is the most hospitable hotelier that I have met in all of my travels. I wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else when we go back (hopefully next year!).

Great host!
Pros:

As the others have said, Enrique makes this place a great one! He was helpful before we got there and quick to respond to emails. In his emails he stated his English wasn't great, but it worked the majority of the time. When it didn't, his English speaking daughter was in town so she was able to help. Google translate would also work well if needed. He greeted us and gave us a cell phone to call him if there were any problems. After showing us our room, which looked out on the small pool, he gave us directions to walk to Laura Hartwig (the only winery to walk to from town). Enrique greeted us upon our return with our first of many glasses of wine. He taught us the proper way to drink, talked about Big Bang Theory (his favorite, he says he's Sheldon) and made us feel right at home. The next evening was New Years Eve and Enrique was able to arrange for tickets to the local party. We ended up turning him down after we found out the party didn't start until midnight and goes until 6am. We did spend the majority of the evening with Enrique and his family, enjoying drinks, snacks and conversation. The next morning Enrique walked us to a closer bus stop, near the casino (if you can figure it out, it's much easier to get on/off before the bus terminal, much shorter walk). He waited with us to ensure we got on the correct bus. Although this place is not the most updated, it's clean and with Enrique as the host, I would definitely recommend staying here again!

Like being with friends!
Pros:

I can only echo what others have said - this is a special little place, with a wonderful host, Enrique. Even before we arrived, Enrique was providing me with helpful information, given we were traveling during a major holiday, Fiestas Patrias. Traffic was horrible coming from Santiago, and he genuinely was concerned about us! When we finally arrived, Enrique had us put our bags down, and then we joined him and two other couples on the patio for many glasses of wine. Enrique made dinner reservations, and saw to it that we got in a visit to a winery, in spite of the holiday closings and our short time in Santa Cruz. Breakfast was simple, but plentiful, and the room roomy and comfortable. Just an all around pleasant experience!

Most caring host ever!
Pros:

We have spent wonderful three days at Enrique's little boutique hotel. We have met some extraordinary owners of charming places, but this is a different league. Enrique organized wine tours and even drove us there or negotiated a price with a driver. He spoilt us with his wine and made sure the guests of his hotel met and socialised. We spent brilliant nights on his terrace with guests, both local and foreign sipping wine, sharing stories, simply enjoying ourselves! Highly recommended!

Great value
Pros:

This B&B/home/hotel, just 2 blocks from the main plaza in Santa Cruz, is a perfect base for enjoying the Colchagua wine region. A clean and efficiently run operation, the host Enrique was there for all our needs. He helped organize our itinerary visiting wineries, suggested restaurants and local events, and was on hand at night to mull over the days winery tours and degustations! A friendly fellow, and an attentive host! I shared a room with a friend, and $100 for the two, which included a huge breakfast was a good price.

What a beautiful experience!
Pros:

My wife and I (older Canadians) arrived in Santa Cruz April 2014, with no reservations, hoping to stay in the Plaza Hotel. Thank God it was full and that they recommended the nearby Tierra y Vino. This is a small family run Boutique Hotel on a quiet street. All the rooms face onto a grassy courtyard with a swimming pool. Our room was quite large with a Queen sized bed, TV and WiFi and a great breakfast! The thing that makes this an outstanding Hotel however is the owner Enrique. We didn't have anything planned but he took us under his wing and for oir first afternoon, he organized a lunch at a local testaurant, a winery tour and a sunset supper at another winery near Santa Cruz. He even drove us to both wineries himself! The next day he organized a driver and 2 excellent winery tours. He even reserved us a room in a nearby oceanfront hotel for our last night in Chile. We couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Thanks Enrique, from James and Judy Brown

An oasis for travellers
Pros:

I found myself unexpectedly a lone Canadian traveller with little Spanish. Visited Santa Cruz for wine tours and museum. Enrique, hotel owner, took me under his wing and made my stay very memorable. From personally escorting me on wine tours, arranging for English speaking wine tastings, to finding an excellent restaurant, and finally (I was driving) directions and helpful advice for interesting sites around Santa Cruz. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location and personal service.

Like visiting a long lost friend
Pros:

The rooms and the hotel are great but it's all about the service. I had, unfortunately, only one day to spend in Santa Cruz. Enrique, the owner, helped me get 3 days of activities into that day. From personally taking me to 2 wineries for tastings to showing me where to eat and to see a few of the places the locals go in the evenings. Enrique is proud of his town and enjoys showing it to visitors. If I'm ever in the area again there is absolutely no question about where I'll stay

Very nice hotel, in the center of Santa Cruz
Pros:

The hotel is really good and the manager (Enrique) is incredibly nice and takes care of everything from very early in the morning to late at night when you come back from your long day of visiting wineries :) when we came back at night after our dinner, he offered to sit with him and opened several bottles of wine (free of course!) because he really wanted us to taste some wine that he likes from the Colchagua region.

The room we got was small, but fortunately it was clean and comfortable and the bathroom is good.

New owners have improved this hotel
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel in September 2011 under the old ownership and had an okay experience. In February, 2012 I returned for Vendimia and the new family owning this hotel makes all the difference. They are very attentive, friendly and kind. They will go above and beyond to ensure that you have the best experience possible in Santa Cruz.

Average service, for the price and the city level, but a great location and a trustable deal.
Pros:

The place has 1 to 6 rooms named with Mapudungun native words, a little hall and a pool at the side. The overall hotel is an adapted residential house.

The hotel is very well located, in a very quiet and a good looked street, and apparently safe where you can trustly leave your car (if any). Taxi cab service is not so regular, but hotel can call you one, at a really convenient rate (comparing the general overpricing infunded on the commerce of the overall city to tourists).

A little drawback is the 6th room and the pool being located at the same building but disconnected from the reception and the lounge - i.e. if you're at the 4th room you need to get out to access the pool, and if you book a room you'll probably will get that- but the place is so quiet that this is really a minimum disadvantage.

Room is fully equipped: cable tv, 220v, phone, clean bed, private bathroom with towel sets, hot water, soup & shampoo, nice decorative carpet & wall accessories, hair dryer, safe box, cooler (you must ask for their keys), so the price is good returned.

Location is excellent and the big deal with this hotel, actually just few meters from the Colchagua Casino, you can stay here and go to casino on foot and return late at night with no problem (other places can't say the same).

The breakfast is also good - not a free buffet, but a prepared service, that got you ready for the Colchagua Museum. Although not so publicited, this is a surprisingly comprehensive repository of historical objects of every kind - there is even a lot of local fossils from corals to animals - telling part of the  overall Chilean history. This is really a must of the zone, an requires about 3 hours to appreciate it in its complete dimension.

Like a Motel 6 run by a family
Pros:

Based on the Lonely Planet, we tried to book a night at Hotel Santa Cruz, which has been closed since the earthquake. We were referred to Tierra & Vino, which is a nearby house posing as a hotel. All of the rooms are off of one hallway, the doors are hollow, the beds are tiny. There's no place to put your luggage. The window opens to a view of the next house. The shower water starting running cold during my 3 minute shower.

Breakfast was some processed ham and cheese, white bread, orange sugar water, and highly processed yogurt. I had hot water and a teabag instead. On the other hand, free WiFi, free parking in front of the house, the neighborhood is quiet, the staff is friendly and tries to be helpful, even if the restaurant they suggested was closed.
