Budget-friendly, clean and good services
Pros:

Super Hotel is the second hotel of Lohas hotel group I’ve stayed with. I really like the way their hotels operate.
Firstly, although the room is quite small, but it is nicely and funtionally furnished. The room itself is clean.
Secondly, hot spring is free and is carefully organised (time for female and male is separate, lockers, shampoo and body lotion are provided for free).
Thirdly, the staffs are friendly, supportive and enthusiastic. They helped us a lot in finding bus schedule, introduced us to various tourist activities, etc. The buffet breakfast is fine, not the best I’ve tried so far but I still enjoyed it.
Last but not least, the location is okay. It takes ~10 mins walk from Hakodate train station, but it’s super easy to walk. There are many local restaurants and shops around the hotel, so finding a place to eat is convinient too.

Good functional business hotel - friendly helpful staff.
Pros:

This was our first time to travel to Hakodate on holidays - we just loved Hakodate city! We stayed at the very convenient Super Hotel Hakodate for 3 nights with my wife and 15yr old daughter. Don't expect luxurious Shangria-la Hotel amenities or swimming pool - this is a basic yet very typical, standard Japanese business hotel that's typically 'confined' and yet very functional - no big issue. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very modern. We had a small double bed with a small bunk above it and good views (SE) across to the ocean - Tsuguru Straits. (We really enjoyed watching the massive flocks of seabirds aggressively attacking the schools of fish on the ocean surface) All the staff at Super Hotel were just super friendly, helpful and attentive and spoke a small amount of basic english. I accidentally pre-booked a smoking room/floor - Yeelch :... - but the helpful staff kindly offered to change it the next morning (hotel was fully booked that night). Super Hotel is a short and easy 8min walk from the Hakodate station and seafood markets (uni!!!) - or if your feeling lazy 3mins by taxi. It's only 30seconds to the closest convenience store and drugstore. Hotel parking is immediately out the front and also in the hotel's car stacker. The complimentary 'all-you-can-eat' buffet breakfast (Japanese/Western) was the best part of the stay - that definitely made the stay very economical! Checkin time was from 3:00pm - quite standard really all around the world. There are hot spring baths, WiFi and a convenient coin laundry. The 'Super Hotel Hakodate' just can't be missed - it is clearly signposted with a MASSIVE yellow/blue sign across the whole roof width (floodlit at night) and further large yellow/blue signs on each street corner. We were VERY happy with the hotel for the price (AUD$180/night/3people - including breakfast!) Obviously expect to pay more during peak periods/holidays. During our stay the guests seemed to be mostly young Japanese families and a few Japanese couples. Would definitely stay here again for sure!

Good hotel for price
Pros:

Stayed here for a little trip to Hakodate. Budget hotel but good for what it was. Can choose type of pillow and Onsen was very small but nice. Breakfast didn’t have much choice for westerners but had scrambled egg. Would recommend if not spending long in room. Was quiet and we managed to sleep well.

Unpretentious Eco Hotel
Pros:

It was a last minute booking because the price was good and it's near to the JR Station. It's an easy walk from the train station, however, due to no English words on its sign board my friend and I actually missed it and walked another 2 blocks. Apart from this little inadequacy in not putting up the sign in English, the rest of the hotel stay was a pleasant & refreshing experience....from getting to choose our pillows, the in-house onsen and the healthy but delicious breakfast included at no extra cost. The staff were helpful & friendly as well. They really tried to live up to its Super Hotel name.

Nice stay!
Pros:

Stayed in the room with loft bed. Room is very spacious compared to the normal twin room. Breakfast spread was good. Hotel is a bit far from train station but still walkable. Overall, it was a good stay.

Discount hotel
Pros:

It's definitely a discount hotel. I stayed in spring with my son. We wanted to see the cherry blossoms and the fish market. The location is very good. The fish market is a very short walk. The rooms are very very small, even by Japanese standards. The bed was 80% of the room I would estimate. The bathroom is tiny. I'm 5'4 and I found it tight. A 5'10" foreigner is going to find it very challenging.

The staff are very nice and helpful. That's true of most of Japan however. :). It's a decent place to stay is you are Japanese sized and don't plan to spend any time in your room.

Good choice in Hakodate
Pros:

This is my second time staying in Super Hotel Hakodate. Cheap room rate includes nice breakfast. Although breakfast is simple and not much food to choose, it's tasty and better than other chained business hotels. Hot spring is simple and only allows maximum 6 people, it's not really a problem because it's not so attractive. Walkable distance from JR station and major sightseeing points. There is a big drug and cosmetic store just opposite to the hotel. Two different convenient stores are nearby. Room is standard Japanese hotel room size without any expectation. It's clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and pillow fits its subject" healthy and good sleep at night". Recommended!

Smaller Rooms Bigger Prices
Pros:

Japanese hotels seem to be in competition to cut facilities and charge higher and this one is no exception .
Hotel is not in walking distance unless you are willing to drag your luggage for nearly a kilometre from the station . You need to take tram and travel to the next stop ...to find the hotel which has no sign in english on top and you keep on asking people only to find Super Hotel written on glass with cars parked in front .
Then the usual Japanese refusal to give room before 3 p.m. and you reach your room to get shock after paying US $ 250.00 a day this is just a cubicle where bathroom has been fitted three hangers on wall( no cup board ) just 2 tooth brush ( no toiletries) .
Iron and iron board can be used only at reception not in room !
Thank fully staff understood and spoke passable english .

A super hotel indeed
Pros:

Room is small but very clean. All of the staffs are friendly. There are some pillow choices in the lobby which I found very unique . Their breakfast is also super, better than a 5 star hotel one. I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel

Near to Hakodate JR Station and at an affordable price
Pros:

We booked a triple room and stayed for 2 nights. This hotel is about 10-15mins away from the Hakodate JR station and morning market. The reception is closed from 10am to 3pm daily. During this time, You can press the bell to go into the lobby area but you cant check in. You can leave your luggage with the reception. Rooms in Japan is small so does this hotel. We were given a room on the highest floor, facing the seaview. Space is a tight for 3 luggage. The toilet seat comes with a warmer, nice to seat on a cold day. Towels and soap is provided. There's kettle and tv in the room. Very clean room. There is free wifi and breakfast. The hotel encouraged environmental conservation. Any unused toothbrushes could be returned to the reception and exchange for a piece of royce chocolate.. There is free hot spring in the hotel at given timings. Service was great.. no doubt in Japan. Nothing to complain about.

Easy stay
Pros:

Small budget hotel located just few steps from tram stop, and one stop from JR Hakodate station. Very easy access for tourist attractions by tram. Room, bed and amenities inside is small and acceptable for just stay after wandering around all day. Staff was polite and nice. Breakfast was japanese-style and moderate viriety of food.

Maybe too small but cheap
Pros:

Good quality, breakfast and onsen hot spring. It's relatively standard size among hotels in Japan, but well organized and equipped. 10 minutes walk from JR station or Taxi for 5 minutes(550yen). Strongly recommended if you have a tight budget for your trip;)

Business hotel; less generous on space
Pros:

Located about 10-15 mins walk from JR station although a tram (1 stop) would cut that to less than 5. Space is right for up to 3 adults but they allowed me, my wife and two young kids without extra charges. We had to sign extra disclaimer for any potential damages which was fair. Room comes with various tablet and smartphone charger but wifi was weak in room. Breakfast is local style and relatively generous (buffet style).

Bad internet connection, not close to train station
Pros:

You can walk to this hotel from Hakodate train station, I did. It's a 10-15mins walk. Or take the tram, 2 stations away. Nothing much around this hotel, and there is a convenience store within 5 mins walk.

Modern facilities, there is no room key, just passcode. Good if you have good memory. Free onsen on ground floor, but there is only one, so there are different times slot of men/women. If you're women, you will have around 4 hours per day to enjoy the onsen. The onsen is a very small one anyway.

Terrible internet connection. I am a freelance worker who rely on the internet connection to make a living, this hotel gave me a day of holiday because the internet just didn't work well. Rooms are clean, i had a nice sleep.

Reasonably near to JR station
Pros:

Good Super Hotel standards. Friendly and helpful staff. Room is reasonably sized for properties of this type.Comes with complimentary breakfast and use of hot spring. Less than 10 minutes walk to JR station, alternatively can take city tram (just 1 stop away). But do beware of small bathroom.
