Hotel mit Riesen Zimmer
Pros:

Unser Aufenthalt im KOKO HOTEL Kyoto Sanjo war hervorragend. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Größe des Zimmers – für Japan wirklich außergewöhnlich groß und eher mit einem westlichen Hotel vergleichbar. Dadurch hatten wir viel Platz und konnten unseren Aufenthalt sehr komfortabel genießen.

Das Hotel war sauber, modern eingerichtet und ruhig gelegen. Auch die Betten waren bequem und das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage eignet sich ideal, um Kyoto zu erkunden, da viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und öffentliche Verkehrsmittel gut erreichbar sind. Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die in Japan mehr Platz und Komfort schätzen.

One of the best stays of our trip—great location, amazing amenities, and genuinely friendly staff.
Pros:

We stayed at Koko Hotel in Kyoto during our trip to Japan, and it was easily the highlight of all the places we stayed. The location is perfect. Everything you need is close, and getting around is simple.

The breakfast buffet actually delivers. Plenty of options, fresh, and worth it. The 24/7 complimentary drinks were a huge bonus. Soda, tea, juice, coffee. It’s always there when you want it.

The shower pressure was strong, which matters more than most hotels realize. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful without being over the top.

This was hands down our favorite hotel of the trip. Would stay here again without thinking twice.

Cons:

Top Lage, ansonsten nicht zu empfehlen.
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels war der Grund, warum ich es gebucht hatte. Man ist innerhalb von 5 Minuten bei der Bahn, mit der man zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten gelangt. Generell ist man auch fußläufig schnell. Von der Lage daher top!
Die Betten sind bequem und man kann das Zimmer lüften, was auch notwendig ist... Zimmer für Japan groß und geräumig.
Das Personal ist freundlich.
Die Handtücher werden, so man möchte, jeden Tag gewechselt. Der Mistkübel kann auch zum Entleeren rausgestellt werden.
Man kann sich jederzeit beim Getränkeautomat bedienen.

Cons:

Einem 4-Sterne Hotel (zumindest booking.com nach) entspricht das Hotel nicht. Hätte das Hotel 2 Sterne, wäre ich darauf eingestellt gewesen (und hätte aber preislich auch weniger gekostet). Die guten Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.

Frühstück: wenig abwechslungsreich, hauptsächlich (teils auch eher fettige) Fertiggerichte bzw. aufgewärmt, die Rühreier waren höchstens lauwarm, auch wenn sie frisch nachgebracht wurden. Eigentlich esse ich sehr gerne Japanisches Frühstück. Es gab aber jeden Tag nur Curry und eine deftige Suppe mit Gemüse und Schwein; eine simple Misosuppe wäre mir lieber gewesen, aber das ist natürlich Geschmacksache. Die Brötchen/Croissants waren nie frisch aufgebacken, sondern Gefrierschrank-kalt. Das bereits aufgeschnittene Baguette hätte gut vom Vortag sein können. Daher wurde wohl ein Backautomat zum selber Aufbacken zur Verfügung gestellt... In einem 4-Sterne Hotel wäre es toll, wenn es nicht nur Papierbecher für die Getränke gäbe. Der Getränkebereich war sehr unansehnlich und dreckig, vor allem die Stelle zum Entsorgen der Flüssigkeit und leeren Becher. Die Fotos vom Frühstück im Internet (und im Hotelaufzug) sehen vielversprechend aus, entsprechen aber tatsächlich nicht der Realität.

Sauberkeit: am meisten gestört hat mich die absolut mangelhafte Sauberkeit im ganzen Hotel. Ich musste beim Check-in in ein anderes Zimmer wechseln, weil noch Müll vom Vorgänger herumlag und es sehr gemieft hat und staubig war. Obwohl ich es einem Mitarbeiter gezeigt hatte und der Zimmerwechsel kein Problem war, hatte ich den Eindruck, dass sich der Mitarbeiter nicht am offensichtlich dreckigen Zimmer gestört hatte... Verwunderlich für Japan, da eigentlich sonst großer Wert auf Sauberkeit gelegt wird. Das zweite Zimmer war übrigens genauso staubig. Generell wird in den Zimmern wohl nie staubgewischt, der Teppich am Gang und in den Zimmern ist auch nicht sauber und schmuddelig, daher mieft es in den Zimmern generell.

Best stay of our 2wk trip
Pros:

Great modern design with a separate bath and toilet. Room size was also great especially for Japan in our particular Queen bed room. In the middle of two nearby convenience stores. Staff were very friendly and working with them for the luggage forwarding service was easy. Near a station and walkable to Yasaka shrine area.
