I highly recommend that you not stay at this property if you appreciate courteous staff and few amenities like a working tv and iron/ironing board and clean carpet. As a Marriott Lifetime Platinum member, I have frequent experience with Marriott properties, yet the service I encountered during this visit was significantly below standard. Not all staff just the Manager (of all people).
The primary issue occurred at the front desk when I requested a receipt. Due to the absence of front desk staff, a maintenance worker attempted to assist but was unable to operate the system. When he requested assistance from the "manager" on duty, she appeared visibly frustrated that she actually had to help a customer. Rather than providing professional service, she loudly argued with me in the lobby regarding third-party receipt procedures and was dismissive and sarcastic, while other guests were in the lobby as well. Uhhh,
Furthermore, the room was not properly maintained, as both the television and the iron were non-functional. I still prefer Marriott properties over other hotels but can not reccomend this property to anyone. There are other properties in the immeidate area so save yourself some grief and book another hotel if you find yourself in Rocky Mount.

Worst hotel reservation experience I’ve ever had.
I canceled my reservation within the allowed cancellation period and even received a cancellation confirmation number. Despite this, the hotel still charged me for the stay.
I contacted the hotel multiple times to request a refund, but the General Manager showed complete irresponsibility by not responding for over two weeks. Unfortunately, Marriott headquarters provided the same level of service — no response for another week.
In the end, the issue was resolved in just two days through my credit card company. Clearly, the hotel and even the brand’s customer service didn’t take the customer seriously.
Very disappointing experience.
I had set up a 1:00 PM early check-in via the Marriott app and arrived at the property at 1:45 PM. Upon arrival, the parking lot was nearly empty (only about 3 cars), yet the hotel felt completely abandoned. There was no one at the front desk. After waiting for several minutes, I actually had to call out loud just to find a staff member.
When a woman finally appeared, she was incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude. Despite the hotel clearly not being busy, she dismissively told me that no rooms were available and that I "needed to come back at 3:00 PM." As a Gold Elite member who specifically coordinated an early arrival, I expected at least basic professional courtesy.
The service here is nonexistent and the staff is unwelcoming. I ended up canceling my stay and going elsewhere. I have also canceled my future reservations at this location. Save yourself the frustration and do not book here.
The best I can say is that it was very clean- on the plus side. Otherwise, rooms are small, water pressure very light, bed was soft, towels were stiff. Breakfast was just shy of inedible w/ little variety.
We stayed at this hotel the end of December and again tonight February 12. Both times the same lady whose name was Nikita was the only person at the front desk. I had to write this review because once again I was so impressed with her professionalism, graciousness, and help with checking in. Both times she had a line of people waiting to talk to her, and she was the only employee around.Observing the line of people waiting to speak with her, I had to write a review for her because in my opinion (and I’m well traveled) she deserved a “ job well done” she wore multiple hats, acknowledging everyone that walked through the cold, open doors, taking care of the people directly in front of her and managing the phone all with graciousness, speed, and a welcoming smile.

Stayed here on our way home from FL. Location is convenient off of I95. Room was clean and check in was quick. Breakfast was included and was just what we needed to finish our trip home. There was a good selection of food. The staff was very friendly.

This is a warning to anyone local who intends to book a room at this hotel. I don't know what the hotel is like because I canceled the reservation during check-in. Unbeknownst to me, they charge a $300 CASH deposit for local residents. Who demands $300 cash in 2025?! I don't carry that kind of cash around, so I canceled.
It was good but the water pressure is ridiculously low for a hotel. Took forever to take a decent shower

I stayed at this hotel because I was visiting family. I am a Titanium Elite member and this hotel appeared to be the most modern and updated in Rocky Mount. The staff was wonderful. Personable, polite and accommodating.
The first room I was offered had a horrendous smell similar to mold. I requested another room. I was told by the front desk employee that the carpets in the hotel were recently cleaned. There was no odor in the hallway.
The second room I was given had a slight odor but because I was late for a family event I accepted it and left for the evening. When I returned it was late and although the smell remained we stayed for the night. My partner had an asthma attack in the middle of the night. We left in the morning and changed to another hotel.
Although I was impressed with the staff, no hotel should clean their carpet and then immediately offer the room. I’m not sure what the smell was but it was almost like turpentine. Deadly for asthmatics and my partner is still dealing with a sore, itchy throat days later.

We stayed here one night on our way down south. The room was really spacious! Much bigger than I expected. Everything was clean. Family of 5 with 2 adults and kids ages 10-17. I slept on the pull out couch with my 10 year old. It was ok for her but not very comfortable for me. Although, after staying at multiple hotels with pull out couches it seems in general they are not very comfortable. Overall, good hotel! We would definitely stay here again as a mid way point in our travels.
Well upon check in I was greeted by a great staff member. The building hallways and stairwells reeked of marijuana. A fellow customer was in the process of attempting to move floors again while I was checking in. The front desk swore no one had complained. One elevator was down and out of service so we opted for the stairs and that is when the marijuana smell hit us like a brick wall. I will say the smell generally stayed in the hallways and the stairwells and did not thankfully come into our room. The HVAC unit was extremely noisy and was rattling through the night and the paper. Thin walls had us listening to our neighboring room TVs until midnight.
Look no further than this Fairfield Inn! Their hospitality is above any you will get anywhere else!!

You need to get the second elevator fixed. You need better pillows. They are to thin. I sleep on better at home. Why are the pool hours only from 10:30 to 8? Why do you not have a 24 hour water and coffee bar available? I had stayed in 2 other Fairfield properties and received these perks as well as cookies never seen this there. That is the reason I picked Fairfield for this. The shower needs to be checked. The water came out of the faucet as well as the shower head. Staff was pleasant at check in.
