La Cabana del Lago was everything we expected. It was absolutely lovely to wake up to such a beautiful view of Lake Catemaco and the family just made our stay as comfortable and as lovely as anyone could ever expect! Mrs. Lina Bravo Murcia, her husband, her granddaughter Samantha, and her son Alberto were an absolute joy to spend time with. They were generous with their time and stories! We are so grateful! Also, they prepared dinner for us even though the restaurant was technically closed. It was nice to have a warm meal after a long drive from Orizaba! Checkout was super easy and we were able to say our final goodbyes and take pictures with the family!
The room was a bit small but the balcony made up for it. Also, the pillows are a bit hard, and the AC unit is a bit small for the bedroom. Having a fan for guests could really make the stay a lot more comfortable, particularly in 100-degree weather. Otherwise, this was absolutely delightful and we are more than grateful to the family for our lovely time!
It’s s not far from the city, but it’s s beautiful location and the family that ruins it is very accommodating and generous. It’s right on the lake and the view is beautiful
The rooms are small
The place is amazing, by the lake, not touristic village, amazing for families and couples, it's the best place to stay around Catemaco.
The price the hotel asked me to pay was substancially around 8X higher than the price mentionned in the reservation. We called booking and they were not able to resolve the issue. On top of that, the owners were not open to discuss the price. Which let me having no choice than to book this place anyways and pay that huge amount, having no other available place at a decent price around. This was overall very stressing experience for me and I did not find fair that I had to pay another amount than the price guaranteed in the booking. I did not like especially the non empathic way the owners dealt with the situation to actually find a compromise for the price.
The owers were not speaking to me the whole stay whereas they did chat all the time with other guests from Mexico, this also can be improved.

My 3 night stay at cabañas del lago was completly enchanting and I could not get enough of the views. Very few places have I wanted to not leave. Great place to relax and enjoy nature. My host and her husband were very attentive, kind and I was given a crash course in kayaking. I actually got a little spoiled with her delicious cooking and and my future hotels have not been able to live up to this majical place with its great value. Highly recomended, except make sure that you know this place in la victoria, less than a 10 min taxi ride from downtown catemaco which is a discrepency in the posting.
