Pros:

Staff and service were absolutely outstanding. We stayed 2 nights/3days. Staff arranged all taxis. Large room. Great amenities include private onsen/thermal spring which was relaxing. Loved every minute. Overall OUTSTANDING service and excellent stay.

The rooms were wonderful and bed was very comfortable. The bar area is very scenic and the kiwi cocktail that was on special was one of the best I’ve had. We really enjoyed the option to reserve the onsen privately as well. Would love to return!

Stunning property. We enjoyed the private onsen experience, the rooms were modern and beautiful appointed. We dined at Toki and had an unbelievable meal. Everything was exceptional.

Pros:

Excellent service. Our children got sick during the trip and the concierge found a doctor for us late evening. Concierge explained everything to the doctor before we got there so we were able to get treated even though our Japanese was limited.

Stunning hotel mixes Japanese traditional aesthetics with modern western appeal.
Immaculate room, fantastic staff, wonderful restaurant. Surprisingly close to the subway and Nijō Castle. The bathroom, shower and spa facilities were all top notch.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, in all areas including room cleanliness and organization, customer service (amazing), a quiet room, relaxed atmosphere, excellent breakfast (Japanese or American, served at the table, plus an extensive buffet, all items fresh and delicious. Location is amazing, 5m walk to a metro station and right across the street from Nijojo castle which was one of the best things we have seen in Japan.
