Central to the town which was important for our visit
All good
Very friendly and accommodating team
just found the bath taps difficult to manoever
The bar, the beer, the food!
Also the people of Presteigne, the Manager, the Staff, the shops, the walks, Stapleton Castle. There is so much to like in Presteigne.
Nothing
Good staff and lovely food and service
Nice area to explore definitely be back
Bed a little springy
A very good breakfast, but some visitors might wish to have a full English, but for the money, the continental was very good value. Room was far too hot for us, but the radiators were easily turned down as we live in a draughty old pile! Shower was extremely hot as well! Fascinating historical building with many interesting features such as a priest hole, 17th century paneled rooms and past owners connected to Charles 1st and Mary Queen of the Scots.
Be nice to have some eggs for breakfast
Meals very good, staff very helpful keep it as it is,
Don't change,
Really atmospheric and cosy.

The hotel is old which gave it its charm and one of the reasons we chose it.
Room was spacious and comfortable, very clean and the staff were lovely.
Food was very good and so was the beer.

Room was quiet and comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely walk in the woods just outside the town and enjoyed excellent concerts at the Presteigne Festival.
Breakfast was where this hotel let itself down. It is fine to offer a self-service continental breakfast only but the components need to be good quality - perhaps locally sourced bread/honey/jam/yoghurt and good coffee. What was on offer was highly processed/longlife - more redolent of a motorway service station than a country hotel. Less is more when the less is good. Also the toaster was the slowest in the world and the dining room was over crowded so one felt rather squeezed by people going up and down to serve themselves.
Breakfast was continental as advertised. It was fine, no issues with it and more than adequate.
We were going to a funeral in the afternoon and asked the host if we could delay our check out time...he immediately agreed which made our challenging day somewhat less challenging.
The only thing that was a little difficult was the parking. It was free, as advertised. It was very close to the hotel, as advertised . The only difficulty was that the access to the hotel was down several sets of steep steps. Whilst not a huge problem, it was a little unsettling when going down steeps with a case in each hand! We would still have stayed there but it would have been good to know.
Everything was fantastic about our stay. The room was lovely, bed comfortable and breakfast good. Friendly staff and a great place to stay when catching up with family. So glad to see this lovely pub restored to its former glory after seeing it run down and for sale on our last visit in 2019.
The hotel was clean and well presented with very polite staff. The outside area was very pretty and my girls enjoyed playing in the little playground. Food was good and overall the hotel was what we needed for our overnight stay.
My only complaint was the single bed I slept in which was extremely springy, creaky and uncomfortable. Our room was also too hot as the towel radiator didn’t go off so I had a terrible nights sleep. We stayed in the garden chalets, potentially the main hotel beds might be better quality.

Welcome could be slightly better
Wonderful break, with a plenty full of breakfast available. Yogurts, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese . Loads of toast of all sorts ,and hot coffee on tap . ( teas and juices there )a good choice of cereals too.
The bar was well stocked, cheerful and snug . The owner was very chatty and informed us of the local area .
