Pros:

Lovely pub and excellent staff. The room was immaculately clean and was great considering the very reasonable price. I found the staff to be really helpful before and during the stay. We enjoyed tasting the gin in the evening with a good pub atmosphere after a day at the races. Breakfast was also delicious with vegetarian options available. Thank you for a great stay!

Very pleasant, adequate for our needs. Lovely building and staff.
Pros:

A really lovely place set in a gorgeous village. Enough parking. The building has been well looked after and refurbished to a good standard. Our room was lovely, large enough.
Breakfast was very good although we found that the mushrooms tasted of vinegar, not sure why?? Otherwise, good quality food, well prepared.

Cons:

We only stayed two nights so we didn't need a wardrobe but a few hangers did not fit the whole feeling of the room. The shower room was lovely and clean. However, the water was not always hot and occasionally was very cool and then became hot whilst showering. Assume the old plumbing was an issue here.
We ate in the restaurant the one night. The menu was quite limited, my husband only found fish and chips an option he was prepared to eat. I was gluten free so that was limited too. Quite a small menu for dinner.

Comfortable Rooms and pleasant staff
Pros:

Pleasant staff, comfortable rooms. Good breakfast

Cons:

We ate in the restaurant for the three nights of our stay. It is obviously a very popular place to eat. However, we did find the cost of the evening meals to be high in relation to the size of the portions. The sword fish in particular was a bit disappointing, small portion of fish, lots of lettuce leaves, hardly any potatoes. The desserts we had for £12 each were not in our opinion good value. The battered fish and chips was tasty.

Excellent short break, would be happy to return.
Pros:

Spacious room and excellent tower fan provided during heatwave weather. Hotel itself was very cool considering the challenges of the heat. Staff were very polite and efficient at breakfast, also when we ate in the evening. Lots of thatched cottages in the village location and Marlborough is a lovely town with excellent shops and many places to eat, coffee shops etc.

Cons:

Nothing really - facilities were as described. Some of the food choices in the evening were a little "fancy" for our taste but for most people they would have been perfect so that is not really a criticism! Also there didn't seem to be a brochure in the room with hotel information (we didn't ask for one though so it may have been available).

Pros:

Lovely old pub with a modern renovation retaining some of the traditional decor in a quiet village just outside Marlborough. Super friendly & helpful staff. Excellent dinner but husband felt portions on the small side, good breakfast.

Cons:

Nothing in particular.
