Hotel Arbaso

This is not a good hotel.
This is an excellent hotel.
Perfectly located, with great staff and luxurious rooms (try to grab a duplex-suite facing the cathedral on 5th floor with a chimney), fast and delicious room-service from „Michelin“-listed „Restaurante narru“ downstairs.

Great location! Centrally located this hotel offers clean and quiet room, great bathroom with Dyson hairdryer and a complementary mini bar for your stay. We enjoyed our stay! Would recommend

In the middle of our week-long visit, the 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 and couldn’t be repaired. Around midnight, staff said they’d bring a fan but never returned, and by 12:30 a.m. we were told there couldn’t find any. We tried to sleep with the windows open in unbearable heat, listening to 𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, needless to say it was a sleepless night for both of us and really ruined the next day, leaving us totally exhausted.
The next morning we were promised a call from management, yet 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁. Upon our checkout we were told once again that a manager was definitely was going to reach out and offer some compensation for our troubles. We never heard from them.
Sadly, this hotel shows little regard for their guests and we 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

Excellent property! Clean rooms & friendly staff

The hotel is beautiful and the staff amazing but read the small print. There are building works in the adjoining building and the hammering starts at 8_30. We were given a partial refund but it still didn’t compensate.

Excellent hotel, the location was perfect, close to everything. We just have walked everywhere. Very helpful staff. The room was very clean, not very big, but you had everything you need. The only complaint is about water provided in the room, which was impossible to drink because of the very strong chemical taste. The minibar is a nice gesture, however.
We haven't tried the restaurant. We wanted to have a drink on our first evening at 10:30 pm, and were very rudely and unfriendly informed that all the empty tables in the restaurant are for dinner eaters only ( it was 10:30 pm!!!) and we can have a drink at the lobby if we want. So we just have done without the restaurant. I have later seen a lot of negative reviews about the restaurant, so maybe management should pay attention to it. It will be really sad, if the good hotel impressions will be put down through unfriendly restaurant staff.

Excellent location, walking distance to all attractions, beach, old city and Pincho bars. The staff were amazing, and helped us figure out what tours to take and they even made all the reservations for us on line. The restaurant at the hotel Narru was also excellent and so convenient. Great menu and wonderful food. I highly recommend this hotel, will definitely rebook Arbaso if I revisit San Sebastián again.

For the price, there were unfortunately minimal amenities, lots of noise and dust due to nearby construction, and a weird sewage smell.

Rooms, location, and sound proofing amazing. The service staff front of house and Narru were extremely friendly and efficient. Valet parking efficient and accommodating.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating, and the hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I also appreciated the excellent room service from the fantastic hotel restaurant. The location was perfect — close to many shops and restaurants, yet still quiet and peaceful inside the room despite nearby street traffic. I’d be happy to stay here again if I return to San Sebastián.

Boutique hotel experience that hit every note - from the bathtub and shower in our junior suite, to the view of the cathedral from our balcony, to the silky feeling of the sheets on the bed, to the luxe smell Eight & Bob lotion/hand wash/shampoo. Front desk staff was very friendly and always helped us with anything we asked them about. We enjoyed all of our breakfasts included with the room, and the one dinner we had at Narru left us thinking we should have enjoyed more food there. If you go, get the sirloin with the egg yolk that's on the small bites menu - it's a burger experience unlike anything I've ever had before (and I'm from a rancher family!)

The location was great for getting us into our room shortly after getting off the bus (it's a very fast and easy walk to the hotel from the bus station) and we enjoyed having the hotel be outside of old town by about a 7 minute walk so that we could get some extra steps in for the day in between all of our pintxos rounds.

We are so happy with our stay at Arbaso and if we are lucky to come back to San Sebastian we plan to stay here again. The Junior Suite was absolutely worth the expense.

We debated between Hotel Arbaso, Villa Favorita, and the Maria Cristina—and we’re so glad we chose Arbaso. It offered the best value without sacrificing luxury.

The location is perfect: close enough to walk to all the key sights and beaches, yet just tucked away enough to feel peaceful and not overrun by tourists. The on-site restaurant is Michelin-rated, which was a nice bonus.

We booked a junior suite and were extremely pleased. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, with comfy bedding and a large bathroom—double sinks are always a win for us. Though technically rated 4 stars, this hotel delivers 5-star service, comfort, and amenities.

Highly recommend for travelers who appreciate quality, calm, and thoughtful design without the fuss.

The Arbaso sets the standard for everything you want in a hotel! Exquisite attention to detail…the staff were friendly and professional; the room was spotless, comfortable and simple yet so elegant. The breakfast, while expensive, was prepared and presented like a fine dining experience! The restaurant Narru was the best food, wine and service we had in the city and in fact we ate there twice!! Don’t miss this! If you want to treat yourself, stay here for a few days…you won’t regret it.

This hotel was perfect for us. Excellent location in smart central area of town by the cathedral. Everything we wanted to see was in reasonable walking distance. The staff were brilliant. Very polite, friendly and helpful. Negotiating the one way system was a bit challenging. lots of smart shops around. Loved the understated decor of the hotel. Freebies in minibar a nice touch. Towels provided for the beach. Fantastic, clean sandy beach and clean sea water - not something we’re used to in England. Highly recommended hotel.
