It was mostly as I expected but I really enjoyed it.
Pros:

The staff were always kind in a genuine manner. If I had a question, I got an answer. The rooms were comfortable and clean. My biggest and most heart warming reaction was when the cleaning staff remade my bed but left the pillows I liked where I left them. So many hotels set the room back up to standard but just leaving the pillows I liked right where I left them just felt like my comfort was a real priority and I was so very happy after a long day of walking.

Cons:

My only problem was the breakfast. I felt like there were just enough options, makings for granola, salad, and a small assortment of “western” foods, to feel like there were no real options for breakfast. I would have added some slices of bread for toast, more varieties of fruits, or even simple cereal options. For the money I paid to get breakfast tickets, I would have liked more options than what I felt like was cheaper and better at the convenience stores next door. I believe a hotel should have better service. My biggest issue was the plates and utensils. They were more fashion than function. The forks were thin, narrow, and long which meant I couldn’t use them to eat most of what was on my plate. The plates were round and flat so my food that could roll away often did, and the plates were almost larger than the tray.

Great option for a short stay in Kobe
Pros:

The place is quite convenient, within 10 mins walk to the Kobe Sannomiya station. There are lots of food options nearby. Many bars in the evenings. The room itself is of decent size when compared to other options in Japan. Toiletries available on the ground floor with skincare available upon request at the front desk. Free ice cream and coffee every evening as well.

Cons:

There wasn't much to complain about. No eating of outside food allowed within the hotel's lobby premises.
