Nice location and Allison the host was wonderful. It is an older house though lots of character and the room was very nice.
The refrigerator needs to be replaced and the ice box was frosted over. Otherwise it was a very nice stay.
Great location and beautiful property! Comfortable bed! The owner was super accommodating to our need for a slightly early arrival:)
The Life House was a very quiet, charming and friendly spot. Very much so a boutique hotel feel. The only thing that wasn’t ideal was the room we stayed in on the 3rd floor. Being over 6 feet, the room had slanted ceilings and a very tight doorway. It was very tight and not spacious unlike some of the other rooms I saw. Would definitely stay again but would make sure I don’t stay in that room again.
Host Allison was wonderful
Intimate rooms in a beautiful property at convenient distance from the "downtown" area of Nantucket. The staff was really nice and made sure that we enjoyed all feature of the property. I highly recommend
The staff could not have been more helpful. We arrived in the morning before check in time and they stored our luggage and we left the next day after check out time and again they stored our luggage and lent us beach towels and let us clean up before we left for the airport. We appreciated the cookies in the afternoon and when we came back after dinner they have a beautiful firepit and had left provisions out to make 'Smores which we all enjoyed, sitting round the fire. The property has a great location near downtown Nantucket and also the beach, and the decor is really fun - wonderful tiger carpet on the stairs! Also a lovely sitting room for relaxing.
The property is old so, for example, the stairs are very steep, the rooms are small and the air con in our room was very loud. (It was easy to turn off and on though.). Breakfast was simple and self-service - it was all good quality: coffee, teas, bagels, granola bars - but if you want the full eggs + you won't get that here. It seemed very expensive to me coming from London - but actually having seen all the other prices on Nantucket (extremely expensive), I do understand why it is that price now.
The decor was beautiful and the location was perfect
Room was a little small
Very nice experience.
Very nice hotel, though the walls were thin on the top floor.
They didn’t even have toothpaste which we forgot so had to instacart at 9:30pm for 28$. When we tried to check in no one was around and we waited for over 10 minutes for someone to give us a key. The air conditioning cycled on and off all night and was as loud as a plane taking off when it would turn on. The bed was so soft and was slanted with dips in it which made sleeping very difficult. No room in the bathroom for any toiliteries. Had to crane neck to watch the television and the Apple TV was unusable because apps needed updates you couldn’t update the apps.
The room was terrible. Small, cramped, up two flights of narrow, unsafe stairs, ac barely worked, water pressure horrible. Will never go back.
We really enjoyed our stay! Alison was wonderful and gave fantastic recommendations. The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street close to downtown (walking distance). The rooms are small but well kept and comfortable.
*Beware that the rooms are on 3 floors of a converted home with very steep stairs. There is no elevator access, so if you have large luggage, you’ll want to prepare accordingly.
Our only feedback would be improving the breakfast and amenities in the room! For the price per night, you’re only receiving access to the kitchen where you can make coffee yourself. They put out donuts each morning, but no other options for food, espresso, etc. Additionally, it’d be nice to have a coffee maker and water bottles in the rooms.
Otherwise, the staff was great and ready to answer any of our questions!
This spot is in a great location! You’re in walking distance of downtown, located on a quiet street. Alison was incredible and made sure we had what we needed for our stay!
For how much you’re paying, it’s disappointing there wasn’t a breakfast (only coffee) in the mornings. The check in process is a bit awkward as there isn’t a physical desk when you walk in - the employee came out from behind the kitchen only when I began searching for someone to help us.
I rated it “just ok” because it Just felt like the property owners try to get the most bang from our buck. Bed mattress was broken on one side, offer coffee and tea but literally not even Splenda Ect. Smell coming in was VERY pungent. It literally was JUST OK, nothing special
The Life House is a beautiful place to stay while visiting Nantucket! Allison Hines and her staff are amazingly kind and very helpful with knowing where to eat and with things to do while you are on the island. It was so wonderful getting to know Allison’s sweet spirit and kind soul! The Life House is a short walk to the main part of town for shopping and sight seeing plus the house is beautiful with the most amazing decor! I usually don’t take pictures inside places we stay but took a picture of our room and bathroom because they were so adorable! We would highly recommend staying there!
Spent two nights over the Memorial Day weekend. This Inn is perfectly situated where it’s close enough to walk anywhere within downtown Nantucket, but also far enough that the noise is not an issue. Rooms are very generous as too are the bathrooms. Mine had a big rain shower head that was perfect. The bed was very comfortable! There a nice courtyard off the side of the property with chairs, tables, and a gas fire pit. Perfect for the two cool evenings we had to enjoy a beverage before heading downtown for dinner. The Inn was recently purchased by the Lark Properties company. Allison Hines is in charge and has done a wonderful job so far and has big plans for the Inn this summer. She is very friendly, very helpful, and very flexible. My plans changed twice prior to my stay, and she accommodated all my requests instantly. The entire staff here was excellent. Strongly recommend you give this property a try. I’ll be back!
