This hotel does a great job to accommodate their guests. It is in a great location and updated. Easy access to the beach and other properties as well as their restaurants. We plan to return again and again!
My wife and I recently stayed at the hotel. We had a great time there. The property sits right on the beach. It is also a very short walk to the town square where there is a very nice selection of restaurants, bars and various stores. Our room was both clean and nicely maintained. The staff was friendly and attentive.
We had a really enjoyable stay at Orient Beach Hotel. The property is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained, and the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed. The kitchenette is a great addition and made the room especially comfortable for a longer stay.
The location is also excellent. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Orient Bay Village, where there are many great options for breakfast, casual snacks, drinks, and really nice dinners. We visited in July during the low season and were still able to find plenty of good restaurants open. Being able to walk to dinner without having to drive was one of our favorite things about the location.
The service at the hotel was excellent throughout our stay. Everyone was attentive and responsive whenever we needed anything. We had a minor issue with a clogged sink, and it was addressed immediately.
I also want to specifically recognize Cécile at KKO Restaurant, where we had breakfast. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. I am uncomfortable around dogs, and Cécile always made a point of making sure I felt comfortable during breakfast and that the dogs stayed away from our table. It may seem like a small thing, but her thoughtfulness and attention made a real difference to my experience. She truly went above and beyond, and we really appreciated her.
There were, however, a few things that I think could be improved.
The biggest disappointment for me was the beach chair policy. Hotel guests are not allowed to use the front-row beach chairs unless they pay an additional fee, as those chairs are reserved for paying beach customers. I found this surprising for guests already staying at a beachfront hotel. In my experience at other beach hotels and resorts, hotel guests have access to the beach seating without having to pay extra to sit in the front row.
The other beach-related issue is that service ends around 5:00–5:30 p.m., which is completely understandable, but guests are also expected to leave the chairs at that time. The beach is still beautiful and there is plenty of daylight left. I completely understand ending food, beverage, and towel service when the staff leaves, but I don't understand why hotel guests can't simply remain in the chairs afterward. We have stayed at other beach resorts where service ends around the same time, but guests are still allowed to enjoy the chairs.
The other area for improvement was housekeeping. While the room was generally clean, the floors did not seem to be thoroughly cleaned every day. We would sometimes still find sand or hair from the previous day. At a beachfront hotel, where sand naturally gets tracked into the room, daily floor cleaning would make a noticeable difference.
Finally, this is important to know before booking: this is not a large resort experience. It is a smaller, very quiet and relaxed property with a more intimate and minimal feel. If you are looking for lots of activities, entertainment, or a traditional full-service resort atmosphere, this may not be the right fit. But if you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful beachfront hotel with spacious rooms, a fantastic walkable location, and genuinely attentive service, Orient Beach Hotel is a great choice.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The beautiful property, excellent location, and especially the warm and attentive service made our experience very positive. With a few adjustments to the beach policies and more consistent floor cleaning, the experience would be even better.
This hotel and beach area was perfect for us. Great hotel with terrific breakfast included. Maybe the nicest beach I've ever seen, much like Seven-Mile in Grand Cayman. Chairs are nicely spaced with good chair pads and chair service for food and drinks. It's also close to restaurants and shops that we really enjoyed.
The hotel, the staff, the breakfast and the attention to detail were better than anticipated. We appreciated how well the grounds were kept. The owners connection to the adjacent restaurant was convenient for breakfast. Overall it was a great experience. We will return
This was the perfect place for my wife and I to celebrate her 60th birthday. The location is right on the beach and there are several beach clubs all within a short walk . The Orient Bay Village was only 1/4 mile away and had excellent restaurants including some of the best French cuisine. We will definitely be back. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
I’ve been many, many time to St Martin (maybe 25), and stayed in several different hotels, always on the French side. This hotel I’d put in last place to stay at.
Pros: - lovely view from the room, clean room, and the front desk young man Kim.
Cons: - we stayed 6 days and only saw the manager once, on the last day, because she needed a favor from us. (One would think that in a boutique, 35 room hotel she would introduce herself).
Breakfast was at the KKO and the presentation was disgraceful, even insulting: stained broken coffee pots, and old broken down fridge-window that fell off each time it was opened, the bread was raw (baked in a hurry) most of the days and there was only one person doing all the work.
The shower was awful, no pressure whatsoever, and the hair dryer couldn’t be worse, a joke really.
A/C dripping and wetting the floor.
No I wouldn’t go back. Stay at La Playa or at Palm Court instead.
Our family stayed at the OBH last week and everyone was sorry to leave. The view can't be beat, the staff is warm and helpful and the hotel is perfect. It's walking distance to wonderful restaurants which we enjoyed most evenings. This is our second stay at OBH and we look forward to going back again.
Las playas y el servicio del personal es excepcional. Es un lugar muy lindo y tranquilo y a muy pocos metros hay una zona de restaurantes muy variada.
The hotel itself is in the perfect location in front of the beach and all the amenities of Orient Bay. The room was nice with an amazing view (choose Ocean view) and parking was easy (but it was low season). Cleaning was good, even if the fridge in the room was always leaking and the bathroom shower needed a bit of more maintenance. There were few other issues that may annoy other clients, but there weren’t major for us (but certainly not worth giving 5 stars): the beach club in front of the hotel they generally use was closed, but they only informed us after booking (this is something you should clearly inform clients before)- similar issue with breakfast, they claim it is included but it is really essential (see pictures) and even the à la carte menu (that you have to pay) is not enough. The window lock didn’t work (safety issue) and the outside pool is quite small too. However, the location is the strong point and waking up with the ocean view, so it all depends on your priorities.
The location was beautiful, convient, and many restaurants around. The room was stunning.
The bed was hard and could not get comfortable.
Clean and cozy and steps from Orient Beach
Bed was a little too hard for my bad back
Vista do quarto muito bonita, colchão super bom, bem espaçoso, mini cozinha equipada, praia excelente com temperatura da água ideal
Almost everything was excellent. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful, our first floor room was very accommodating and fresh, the morning breakfast was a good way to start the day, walking distance to many good restaurants, location right on the beach. Housekeeping was inconsistent with their towel service. Yes, my wife and I will return to OBH next year.
The room and the location
Beach chairs were less comfortable than other locations with cushions, restaurant breakfast was terrible, and simple welcome information such as how to locate taxis, where to buy water, extra towels would all be helpful.
Amazing views!
