Lovely decor. A nice relaxing stay despite the rain. Unfortunately our bike rental cancelled our bikes because of the weather but decided to bus here instead. Glad we did. Had a beautiful BBQ meal. Staff were very attentive and helpful.

Room was amazing. Staff helped arrange taxi services and super helpful. Highly recommend for anybody biking the Shimanami Kaido. Would have spent more time there if we could.

The staff were lovely. Loved that she told me about the sunrise and it was amazing. Location was superb and facilities were beautiful. Restaurant reservation was on point.

Biking on the Shimanami Kaido is an experience I will not forget and so is staying at Wakka. I wouldn’t call Wakka an Inn or a hotel or a lodge,or even a resort; it is an experience. I knew Wakka woul be the highlight of my trip; it is perhaps the best accommodation option in the middle of the bike route, right when you arrive at Omishima Island. I got off Tatara Bridge, exhausted and excited, while being treated with tea and AC at their front desk. The staff are extremely caring and helpful, while speaking perfect English. On top of that, it is really a biker’s heaven, with anything and everything you could ever possibly need. I remember walking around the courtyard, just feeling infinitely relaxed. There are shower rooms, a cafe, bike stands, laundry, a courtyard, a d and much more. My room is clean and quiet, with incredible views directly pointing at the bridge I just conquered, along with the bike I rented with Wakka. It is hard to imagine how I am in the middle of almost nowhere yet such luxury exists here. They also offer incredible dinners, breakfasts and a drink menu, while giving you the option to dine at nearby restaurants where the staff will help you book. You can also bike to the nearby konbinis if you want. I would wholeheartedly recommend their bike+luggage services; it is a little pricey yet it gets the job done. I got an extremely powerful E-Bike, which made any journey a breeze while they delivered my luggage from Onomichi to their hotel, then to the Imabari station. When I arrived at Imabari station earlier than I expected, I called them to change plans and ask for my luggage hours earlier than the time I had requested; they instantly agreed and delivered the luggage while apologizing for the delayed response. The room I booked is a bit pricey for solo travellers, but all of their cheaper options are booked out; I did take a look at them and they are equally stunning.
