A great get away for my husband and I.
Pros:

The hotel is centrally located to all of the shopping, restaurants and activities in and around the stock yards which was very nice to just walk where we wanted to go. The room service breakfast was excellent!

Cons:

They could improve on the quality of their toilet paper and facial tissues. Both were a little on the rough side.

Absolutely stunning hotel. Lobby was immaculate, and the front desk staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. Additionally the young men at the Valet were exceptional. They were polite, and professional.

Pros:

An incredible property that’s worthy of 5 stars not 4. Authentic cowboy stop out! Awesome restaurant, bar and live entertainment. The free personalised luggage tag was a nice touch too. Highly recommended!

All Hat, no Cattle: Disappointment at the Drover
Pros:

I had always wanted to stay at this property, so this summer we checked in for 2 nights. The bad service started at the beginning. While all others who checked in were shown to their rooms almost immediately, we were left to languish in the lobby for approximately 45 minutes, waiting for the room to be "inspected" as it had already been cleaned by the time we arrived. When we finally got to the room, it was really disappointing. The shower stank of mildew, meaning the whole room smelled bad the entire time. There was no handle inside of the shower; it appeared to have broken off. The room was small, and literally HALF of the desk was taken up by cash grabbing minibar items. When you don't have a lot of surfaces at the room, to lose half of one for $10 gummy bears and bottles of liquor is annoying (the mini fridge was filled, too).

We didn't have any luggage racks, so we called the front desk to ask for some. After 1.5 hours of waiting, and multiple other phone calls, they were finally delivered-- after we had unpacked.

The bad service continued. Our first morning, housekeeping rapped on our door at 8:45 am when we were still in bed. We asked them to please return later (we did not have a do not disturb sign out because the one in our room was ripped and could not be hung on the door). By 2 pm, housekeeping had not yet returned. We pleaded with the front desk and housekeeping to send them to clean our room. After multiple requests, the front desk told us they had "no record" of us asking-- even after we'd told the concierge. The room was finally cleaned around 3 pm, because we found the housekeepers and asked them in Spanish to do it for us, which they did.

The pool was another issue. While the pool itself was lovely and cool, a group of four adults were gradually getting drunk as the afternoon went on, even though there were children at the pool. They brought a speaker, where they admittedly began with the music on low, but over the course of a few hours, they started turning their music up and up, so loud that you could not even read. I asked a server if she could ask them to turn it down, please. This resulted in a hotel manager coming out, telling them someone was a "party pooper" and finally asking them to turn off their loud music. This comment then led to the drunk guests loudly stating "who ratted us out? I want to find out!" The Drover management did nothing to help the situation, but made it worse. It made us feel unsafe at the pool.

A different server at the pool, who gave us a menu and said he'd be back, never came back to us, though we tried to flag him down (perhaps he was focused on overserving the other party). So we finally just ordered at the pool bar instead.

Our last day, the power at the hotel went out. When it was restored, it only worked in half of our room. So yet another call had to be made to the front desk to send engineering to fix our room's power issues.

I think my favorite part is what happened when I left some prescription eyeglasses in the room after checking out. When I returned home and realized, I called the front desk to see if they found them. They said they'd contact housekeeping and call me back. Guess who never received that callback? They already had our money, so clearly I was just blown off. Not even a phone call to tell me they couldn't find them. As they showed us time and time again, we were clearly not worth their time. I ordered and received new eyeglasses and am still waiting on that callback...

The concierge gave us the price of about 1/6th of one night's cost as credits for some of these issues, and that's it. We spent over $1200 for a mildewy, cramped room full of minibar junk, and very poor service. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Can't wait to never stay here again!

Great hotel in good location with very helpful staff
Pros:

Location, helpful staff, lovely pool and grounds.

Cons:

The seating outside the immediate bar area and throughout the downstairs lounge is looking at furniture rather than designed to be comfortable to sit in and have a drink.
