Fix the cable and the elevator.
Pros:

Staff was wonderful and the facilities were clean. Only short walk into lake placid for restaurants and stores..

Cons:

The cable TV they have stinks. Error messages glory and they blame it on the wind and trees. Elevator takes forever it's faster and more efficient to use the stairs than wait for the elevator.

A great choice for a one or two night stay in Lake Placid.
Pros:

The location was great for exploring downtown. The breakfast was very good with healthy options. Parking was close by and free. Lake Placid pub is next door which is nice too. Hot water and free tea is available 24 hours.

Cons:

TV channels were very limited. There was only one chair in the room even though there was plenty of room for another comfortable chair. The piped in music at breakfast time was not relaxing. None of these issues would preclude me from staying here again.

Great spot to use as your base in Lake Placid.
Pros:

The location of the hotel was very good for exploring the Lake Placid area. The room was quite large and modern. We were given an upgrade to a suite so I am not sure what a standard room is like. Great heating. The bath had its own heater as well. Greater counter space for toiletries. Bed was comfortable. Televisions were very large. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Convenient parking. Price was reasonable. Easy to walk to town and Olympic museum. Water filler near ice machine.

Cons:

Lighting could be added to the side of the room opposite the bed to see into suitcases. I normally don't pay to much mind to the artwork in hotel rooms but did notice the complete lack of decor in this room. Not a problem it just made the room a little sterile. We expected the breakfast to be the normal "breakfast included" fare and it was but it seems like it could have been brought up just a notch. Coffee was good. The pillows were the smaller squarish ones often seen now on king beds. They are awkward to sleep on being so short, but we have started seeing them in most hotels.
