Quiet weekend in Bayeux
Pros:

Perfect location with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff was very helpful handling check-in and departure. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet.

Cons:

The room was a standard size for many European boutique hotels, but this was just fine for someone traveling solo.

Great stay at Reine Mathilde, highly recommended!
Pros:

It was convenient to everything, including restaurants and where our tour picked up.
The staff were wonderful.

Cons:

It was on a busy street so it was a little noisy.

Very pleasant hotel in the historic centre of Bayeux
Pros:

We stayed one night in an attic room with air con which was comfortable and quiet. The bed was two singles put together but comfortable with cool linen. The on-suite shower room was very compact but serviceable. The reception was very friendly and efficient for two rather hot and weary travelers. We were shown to our rooms and able to settle in quickly. The location is very close to the cathedral and the heart of Bayeux. We could park our motorbike in a dedicated free parking area opposite the hotel. The hotel restaurant is popular, breakfast is available and there's a river walk nearby.

Cons:

It was a bit of a climb up to the second floor but then we were only doing it a couple of times. Headroom was a concern as the room has a sloping ceiling on the one side but I managed fine.

Pros:

Location was convenient and beautiful views. Nice breakfast.

Cons:

Liked it all. No elevator and some of our party were at different locations which was fine but we weren’t aware of that. Would stay here again!!

Worst hotel room and staff responsiveness
Pros:

Location was great and near to a walkable distance from the train station. Rooms were clean both the large and standard room.

Cons:

The toilet in the standard room emitted a foul smell and aircon was really noisy. We fed back to the hotel and requested to have a additional bedding set up in the suite room (we booked 2 rooms of different sizes) but was refused, although there is a sign at the back of the door of the suite room specifying the charge of the additional bedding. Staff’s response was terrible too, as there was not even a suggestion to have my daughter changed to another room. In the end my daughter put up wit us on the same bed in the suite room for 1 night. Book this hotel if you like to end up with above issues.

Overall a very nice experience, with a few shortcomings.
Pros:

Room 25 (Annex). Very comfortable bed. One of the best I’ve slept on.
Quiet room, even with the windows open, since it was facing the rear.
Excellent breakfast.

Cons:

Kept banging our heads on the sloped ceilings and tripping on the step between the bedroom and sitting room. Somewhat hazardous!
Terrible towel quality.
Tiny little body wash/shampoo bottles. Did not get replaced when room was serviced and they were used up.
No towel rack other than the heating rods.
Not enough bathroom counter space.
Bottleneck in the breakfast buffet area because the area is too small to accommodate the number of guests.
Chicken kabobs at dinner were not freshly cooked to order. Probably left over from lunch.

Pros:

The town is wonderful as is this hotel in the town. The food was good and the staff very accommodating. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Very safe area and a good pick up point for the tours.
