Plaza inn Lordsburg

We were driving through here when a big dust storm came through. I quickly looked on hotels.com for a cheap option to stay the night. My husband and I are taller and bigger people so I made sure the room had queen beds. We get to the hotel and the first red flag was their broken entry door. The staff was really nice but everything else was pretty upsetting. The first room we got, first of all were double beds. They had signs of bed bugs and one of the beds had a puddle of yellowish slimy goo. The excuse was “we haven’t had anyone stay in that room for a while.” 🙄 so I told her that I asked for a room with queen beds, she told me “oh all we have are double beds.” So you are falsely advertising bigger beds. The air conditioning sucked, we were sweating all night. The sink didn’t drain properly and the toilet didn’t flush properly. I found a tick on my pants in the morning. It was a really horrible night. I regret spending the rest of the night there.

Also, we left around 6:20, no free breakfast was available at the time if that’s something important to you.

The motel was shut down by the state of New Mexico in September. The credit card charges through Expedia for a motel that doesn’t exist is considered fraud. A full refund of monies is required in order to stop fraud charges against the property owner and Expedia. Local residents that I spoke to have confirmed they believe the property is owned by Expedia. This will need to be confirmed. Please contact me.

Dirty and smells never go there again

No good place to stay

I called ahead ask the lady to go ahead and turn the air conditioner on in my room told her I would be there shortly she did as I requested I arrived everything was perfect and the staff could not have been more pleasant I highly recommend

Staff is friendly. Place is dirty. Half the town is abandoned, but I kind of dig that. Even though the carpet needs cleaning, I would return. I like the vibe here.

Staff was very accommodating. Super friendly and very helpful. Hallway smelled bad. However room did not smell.
Carpet in the room was very dirty and sticky. Must wear shower shoes for sure. Lots of maintenance issues but not unsafe.

Front desk guy was friendly helpful. The hotel itself needs some freshening up. The building is old and it shows. I had room 202. Heating and cooling unit was too noisy.
At 1AM someone opened my door and said " oh I wonder who's in room 202" and quickly closed my door. There was no pre knock. Obviously they had a key to my room. Pretty messed up if you think about it.

Friendly night clerk. Coffee provided in lobby in morning. No working TV. Broken window in lobby.

Would never stay at that hotel again.
The shower curtain didn’t close. The attachment to the shower curtain rod was put on crooked so the curtain is open on both ends. So because of that while we showered, water was all over the floor and no rug.
No fire alarm!

Two lamps didn’t work. I was afraid to go to sleep. I kept smelling cigarette smoke. Kinda creepy.
Didn’t see any bugs.

Although the appearance seemed a bit worn, we were very comfortable. There wasn't breakfast, however there was still a microwave and toaster oven available. The beds were comfortable, the towels were soft, water pressure & temperature was great, and even though the AC/Heater were dated, it worked like a champ. Definitely a great stop along the road for a "no-frills" stop without sacrificing comfort.

It was very easy for chicken very nice stuff. The room was very clean the prices very good affordable.

Terrible place ,I feel upset when I see that place . The doors are broken and feel like unsafe . When I go into the lobby , the smell was like mould , the carpets were dirty and there was a computer that surface was full of the dust . If I cancel booking , no refund . So I take the key card and I decide to check the room . In Expedia the show breakfast included then asked the breakfast , The men said no breakfast , we are now renovation time . I didn’t expect that much good but it was so Disappointing.

Wet carpet smell thruout, (not a real deterrent).
But, property details are incorrect, there is NO included breakfast or even coffee.
Lobby has a sign pointing to a non existent vending machine.
The room does have a tv, but no cable or antenna, a miracast from our device proved sufficient

A rocking toilet was a challenge to sit on, as it was not secured on one side.
Also an interesting feature was a non functioning smoke detector that was left open with no battery in it.

Deadbolt for door didnt work, but deadlatch did.

The shower handhold was missing/broken.

Beetles everywhere

Stained sheets. Cigarette burn holes in blankets.
Beetle bugs in room. Dead bugs in ice bucket.
Beetle bugs large piles of them outside the hotel door.
Smelled like cigarettes even though it said non smoking.

I was presently surprised. Even though the hotel was dated with old blankets it wasn't a roach hotel everything was clean. I give it a seven because the front desk person smokes a lot but the rooms don't smell like cigarettes.
