Perfekcyjny przystanek przed Safari

Pros:

Very big and nice rooms. Really good pool for kids - with both shallow and deep water for adults.

Staff is very friendly, they are also very flexible with breakfast on the day of safari visit.

Cons:

They dont have baby cots available, but we imrpovised by moving the mattress on the floor.

Huge room, clean, lovely friendly staff and great food. Pool is fantastic and the grounds were beautiful.

Cons:

Room configuration wasn’t quite right for a family of 4, a single and an extra large double. And not a negative but just be aware it’s out of town so harder to get other food options.

A few improvements would make it perfect!
Pros:

The location was perfect, the property is very well maintained and beautiful. Staff is very nice and helpful.

Cons:

The restaurant is a bit of a let down despite the amazing location and views from the deck! The breakfast is not exceptional, very basic. If dinner is a buffet style, worth the money, the A la Carte was very disappointing.

Lovely Safari lodge with great pool
Pros:

The staff were exceptional.
The rooms a bit basic but you certainly got a Safari feel here at Doola River.
We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed meals in the open air restaurant, spent lots of time in the pool and enjoyed the gardens with their beautiful plants. The Uda Walawe National Parkn is only a short drive away.

The gardens, playground and pool are very well maintained. The Hotel is great for kids. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable.

Cons:

The food in the restaurant was not to our taste. À la carte being better than the buffet, but has to be ordered at least an hour in advance.

Great proximity to Udawalawe
Pros:

The setting is lovely, right by the river with beautiful natural surroundings that make it feel peaceful and secluded. Waking up to the sound of the water and greenery all around was one of the highlights of our trip. So many fascinating animals too!

The property itself is very well maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed to blend with the environment. The rooms were comfortable and cosy, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It’s the perfect place to unwind and switch off from busy daily life.

What really stood out was the atmosphere and hospitality. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived.

The food was decent and enjoyable, though not quite at the same level as the rest of the experience. Still, it didn’t take away from what was otherwise an amazing stay.

Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend Doola River Edge to anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway.
