Pros:

I had a wonderful stay in Vareena Palace. The room was big and comfortable, air conditioning and wi-fi working perfectly. Very convenient balcony. Very clean, good quality linen and towels. The breakfast buffet was so nice, with a variety of western and Thai food. But my heart was stolen by the staff - always smiling and helpful. Last but not least, the roof pool - great for relaxing, with stunning views over the city.
Vareena Palace is located a bit far away from Pattaya's night life and beaches, but for me, it wasn't a problem. I could walk for about 20 minutes to reach Wong Amat Beach, which I consider much nicer than main Pattaya beach.

Cockroach infested rooms
Pros:

The hotel rooftop pool has a great view, especially during sunset. The gym room also shares that view. The hotel also has a parking garage which was convenient. The balcony is spacious enough for people to sit and relax, without any aircondition vent blowing hot air.

Cons:

The hotel is infested with cockroaches. Everyday there are cockroaches crawling around in the hotel room and bathroom, they sit in the towels, toilet paper, crawl into shoes, crawl on the desk, shelves, under the bed, nightstand, almost everywhere. Managed to kill around 4-5 roaches every day.
The hotel is not really clean. The floor boards on the rooftop are old and structurally unsound, at one point during the stay it collapsed during walking, causing an injury. Some of the staff in the reception are unfriendly and rude at times, talking negatively about hotel guests in Thai language (overheard by Thai speaker). Some other staff seem to be friendly, like the maintenance man. The elevator does not go down to the parking garage, so between the lobby and garage the stairs must be used. The refrigerator in the room was not working properly. Despite the great rooftop view and a decent gym, the stay was quite uncomfortable, mainly because of cockroaches in the room.

they have a lot of improvement to make on their breakfast, not enough variety and the food is mediocre. cockroaches in the bathroom. the room did not have a seaview as promised, none of the room have. you only find seaview upstairs at the pool area even that is too far.

I stayed here multiple times on and off during my stay in Thailand. Totalling about 3 weeks. The best part of this hotel for me is the staff. They were always very friendly and accommodating(especially the young girl that works during the day for check ins) it’s clean, the housekeeping staff are awesome. 7-11, a hairdresser, laundry facility, and pharmacy are all within a 1 minute walk. It’s away from the beach but only an 8-10 minute grab bike away. I prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle when visiting places so the quiet nature of this hotel was perfect for me. I would stay here again if I come back to pattaya! Thank you!
