Pros:

Was clean, bright, tasteful inside. Location to Stanford is great.

Cons:

Lack of air conditioning was a problem in the heatwave. With windows necessarily open, nightlife on Ramona St didn’t help sleep.

Great location, but a tired property thst needs an upgrade
Pros:

Great location in central Palo Alto

Cons:

Property is old and dated. Worn furnishings, lack of a proper ensuite (basin is in main room), bathroom door that was hard to shut, lack of double glazing which let street noise in at night, and a bed mattress which rolled to the outside make this property expensive for what it is

Pros:

The location was great. I like the option of staying in a room with a shared bathroom. This made the overall cost less expensive. The bathrooms were impeccably clean and welll cared for; I hardly knew anyone else was even on the floor.

Cons:

If you have a room facing the street it's a little bit busy but once the windows were closed we couldn't really hear anything

ottimo
Pros:

Good value hotel in great location.
Pros:

Great location in Palo Alto near caltrain station and many shops and restaurants. Very lively neighborhood.

Cons:

The hotel was pretty dated. Room size was adequate but we failed to notice that there was no airconditioning. There was a ceiling fan but during a hot spell we needed to keep the windows open to cool the room which resulted in noisy nights.

It was great to be back!
Pros:

I chose this hotel for the location and value. I stayed here before and these were big factors in my decision to return. The room was spacious and the hotel was really clean. Loved the antique items spread throughout the hotel (mainly lobby), the phone booths, writing desk, etc. The front desk staff was courteous and very helpful.

A quaint stay.
Pros:

The places is charming, and the staff is very nice. The cleaning crew works very hard. The Bistro they have for breakfast is quite nice, and quick. It is in a great location for Palo Alto (boy that town has changed over the past 20 years). Stanford families, you should choose this place as it is quite close to the campus. Lots of great restaurants near by.

A wonderful stay with excellent service, a great location, and exceptional value for money.
Pros:

Exceptional location, an amazing breakfast, and outstanding hospitality. The hotel offers great value for money, and the staff are incredibly accommodating.

Cons:

The only downside was that the hotel didn't have air conditioning. Most of the time it was fine, but on a few nights I did miss having it.

Pros:

I liked the location. It was very good and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The "european style" shared bathrooms which is really not a european style rather an american capitalist excuse to rip off people. I wonder if the person who came up with this ever went to europe in his/her life. Too expensive for those conditions.

Fantastic old-world charm walking distance to everything!
Pros:

We loved this hotel! It has a delightful old world charm, with comfortable and very clean rooms. It felt like we were stepping into the past as we entered the lobby, with very high ceilings, a huge fireplace, and comfortable seating for gathering. The rooms aren’t huge but they were nicely appointed, charming, and very clean. There is no AC in the rooms but the ceiling fan worked well and there was a fan/AC unit in the closet that we didn’t need to use.

The location is fabulous - walking g distance to everything in downtown Palo Alto. There are restaurants and cafes everywhere, as well as a movie theater, CVS, and clothing stores. And it’s a short walk to Stanford University.

I highly recommend this hotel, unless ultra-modern is your thing and then this place is not for you.

Cons:

I didn't realize it was communal bathrooms but the bathroom on my floor was beyond disgusting and I had to walk down an entire floor to use it and it there was a line. Definitely not worth it and next time i'll stay in a best western over this place.

Beware of the “Dumpster Rooms”
Pros:

This hotel has no hospitality. I received a room that was right above the dumpsters and both nights my sleep was disrupted by people collecting glass bottles - it’s horribly loud and jarring at 2a!. When I kindly asked if there might be a complimentary rate adjustment for the inconvenience, I was essentially told “too bad”. Apparently, they don’t want repeat business; I certainly won’t stay or recommend this to anyone!!
