Arrived to hotel on Tuesday to check in only to be told I had no reservation. They also said they were booked. Interestingly, I got on Expedia and booked myself a room because there is no where else to stay in independence. When I told them this, they said it’s because they didn’t refresh so they didn’t know they had other rooms.
After they got me in a room, the room was covered in cat and dog hair, all over beds, chairs floors etc. I called the front desk, and Stephanie ( the only good thing about this hotel) was nice enough to move us to a room. The next day we were told we might have to check out of that room because that wasn’t our room for the week (what?). We stayed in that room Tuesday and Wednesday and on Thursday I was once again told to move out of that room to another. I was the keynote at a conference and has had to move my stuff three times. I was told by Ginger the “manager” that this error occurred for various reasons including Ginger saying I was marked as a no show the day before and this caused me to have to move rooms; The system was new (they said the same thing last year when I had a similar experience)., and ; I booked through a third party (which we did not I was with a group). Then, Ginger said they only booked my reservation thru Thursday. She argued with me as I told her I was with a conference and scheduled until Friday. She got really ugly with me and said, “they didn’t even care and didn’t book you a room at all last year.” Then, she started insulting the Admin for our group from last year (because, yes there were issues then too) which was strange because that had nothing to do with this year. When our new Admin came in and showed her the confirmation, the same girl *ginger who was talking rudely to me, started to cry! Yes, when she was shown proof of my reservation she cried because she knew she wasn’t right and had been mean to me for now reason. We checked in Tuesday and left Friday and we moved rooms three times. Horribly disorganized, not professional, rude to guests. I was also told at checkout I couldn’t get a receipt because they don’t do those. When I said every other hotel gives receipt she said “except for us.” I don’t know what I paid, and now have no receipt for reimbursement. Nightmare from check in to check out.
Immaculate hotel with amazing views of the Willamette River and osprey nesting just blocks from historic downtown shops, eateries and bars. The complimentary breakfast is uninspired and though they claim to provide daily housekeeping I saw none. Still I'm giving 5 stars because the facilities and location are top notch.
Clean, comfortable beds, exceptional breakfast. Everything we needed. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
A great mixture of offerings.
Very restricted, when hotel is at capacity.
We didn't get to enjoy it, it stops at 10 a.m. - checkout at 11, etc... we are later risers.
Information in the room that explains everything, including how the heck to make the TV work/remote work. Either in writing or as a QR code. As well as wi-fi sign in info. You lost a review star due to time wasted trying to make the TV work. Also a hot tub system that includes being able to use it when your appointment comes up instead of being told that the people who are in the hot tub (too long) will have to be kicked out on your behalf. Not cool. The desk person was GREAT, it's a system failure of the hotel.
overall a good experience
cold watery powdered eggs for breakfast!!! Please don't do that again!
It was excellent
We went to have dinner at the restaurant, the bar tender that greated us told us she would have to check with the chef if they could accommodate our party of 9. There were only 2 other tables in the dining room. Came off as rude.
Great breakfast and staff was very friendly and accommodating
Long ways from corvallis
It was beautiful, and very peaceful. I didn’t want to leave
Biscuits and gravy would be a good addition to the continental breakfast
Spotless, comfortable and an awesome balcony view of the Willamette River.
There wasn’t anything to dislike.
Reflected in my ratings! Everything was great.
There was often not a staff member at the front desk. I felt like they were working really hard and they had great customer service, but they had things that would take them from the front desk. We had to wait 10 minutes at an empty front desk when checking in. And there was no one there when we left and were checking out. We took all our stuff to our car, and then I popped in to check out when driving by the front door on our way out.
Love location
Staff did a good job
No Light/medium roast coffee
Getting a non-feather/down pillow was a challenge
