Nothing really…
Rooms are too small old looking, needs to be redecorated. In the first room we have got there were a horrible smell coming from somewhere down. Like someone died in that room, a horrible smell! I literally never complain but I couldn’t bear that smell, it didn’t come from outside as the windows were closed it came from the carpet between the bed and the bedside unit and also under the bed. I went down to the reception to get some help with it. Which I still regret as they did make me a bit more uncomfortable than I was before. One of the receptionist went up to the room to check I wanted to go with her to show where the smell coming from but she said no, then she came downstairs and said there is no smell in the room. It was very uncomfortable like I was lying or something about the smell.. which I can’t see why would I? Never mind eventually we’ve got another room that was smelling lovely and was very clean…
There was a bar downstairs which was always empty during the day after breakfast. No one was in there all day. No food only drinks you could get, so we had to order a takeaway. As the room was very small, we asked the receptionist if we could use one of the table in the bar to eat our food? She looked at us and said, no, not in the communal area, sorry… (I mean what would have happened, right? No body would’ve seen it apart from her…) Never mind again we went up to the tiny room and had the most uncomfortable dinner ever… Thank you very much!
Location and free parking,
Cooked breakfast good
Road was a bit noisy
Handwash basin in the bedroom not in bathroom
Very central. Comfortable bed. Great staff.
The room was exceptionally hot and facing a busy intersection. The traffic noise was high and opening the windows made it worse.
Location and that it seemed like no one else was staying there. Breakfast it was empty and during the stay we didn't hear anyone
Shower took over 10minutes to go from cold to lukewarm but the sink had hot water, we only had one set of towels and the bed was way too soft we both had bad backs. Staff already knew about the shower issue when we said our room number so I'm puzzled why they gave us that room. We got a £20 refund as my partner didn't want breakfast
Breakfast ,and Aphrodite
Shower room rather small
The staff were very helpful & friendly.
The location was great for us, we were going to watch the saints rugby match.
The hotel was in need of a refresh. It is an old building but would benefit from some upgrading. There was no restaurant, there are not many restaurants around this area of Northampton except pub restaurants or chain eateries. We stayed 2 nights and would have liked a restaurant in the hotel. There is a bar which we had a drink in but we were the only people using it. The breakfast was okay, the coffee wasn’t fresh it was an instant variety. The cooked breakfast was very tasty.
Lovely staff, spacious rooms and a good value hotel. There was a party happening but the signs were clear and it was quite really clearly after the end.
We were upgraded to a Superior bedroom which was lovely, spacious , quirky with a window seat. There were lots of lights for different ambience. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate , biscuits and bottled water supplied. The bathroom had a bath as well as a shower, which is always a bonus for me. Plenty of fluffy white towels, bathrobes and slippers. We had a terrific full English breakfast which was plentiful and hot. There were three types of fruit juices and cereal and fruit too. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming and obliging, especially Charlotte. The bar area was stylish and modern, but the overall hotel was full of old fashioned character, such as a fireplace in the corridor and decorative mouldings, much nicer than the bog-standard basics with white walls, seems much more inviting.
Close location to an Indian restaurant and pubs and a five minute walk in to town and then the shopping centre.
Nothing.
Easy to find and access and a car park!!
The whole building appeared clean and well looked after
Though there was a broken floor tile in my bathroom, repaired so not dangerous
No lift and stairs narrow with two bags
The staff were super helpful. Its pretty near the city centre. The room was clean.
The radiator wasnt working, but they gave a space heater in exchange. Which we appreciated it very much :)
It is a nice, old building with carachter.
It was central heating just from 4 p.m. through one small radiator which was not enough for the room size but it was an electric heater too in the room so it was ok, but strange.
The lady that booked us in when we 1st arrived was lovely and helpful
The lady at the bar in the evening who charged my card for 2 pints and gave me 2 half pints of beer and the other half pints was throf. While talking on a personal call while serving me at the bar was very rude and unprofessional and the fact there big lorry beer delivery waking us up at 7.05am throwing beer barrels on and off there lorry right outside our window without any consideration or being told to consider the people that are paying and staying at the property. I'd never stay there again and wouldn't recommend anyone else to as its bad
All the staff were very polite and helpful 👍 It was a 👌 perfect location for us to visit family and friends 🧡
My wife did not like how the heating is turned virtually off during the day as she found it quite chilly.
Lovely staff and the room was clean and tidy.
