Pleasant urban chain hotel in central location with great staff.
Pros:

Pleasant urban large-chain hotel with good rooms for short stays. Large bar area. Excellent helpful staff including in evening/bar.

Cons:

No lift and not very smooth to get to upstairs rooms. Ok for a big chain hotel but I expected a bit more distinctiveness for an historic pub-inn. No in-room safe. Standard fare for breakfast but a bit slow when taken early and with strange coffee arrangements.

We thought it was a pub but it's now very much a hotel.
