The bed wasn't super comfortable, but it was okay. The room was pretty clean. You have a fridge and a microwave. No complaints about that. The bathroom was really cool, clean and no mold.
Also, the lads at the reception were super friendly and helpful. That's about it for the pros.
Let’s move on to the cons.
The air conditioning didn’t work at all. In the entire hotel. There was a balcony, but we were forbidden from opening the door because the wooden flooring outside was supposedly unsafe. As a result, the room was unbearably hot and we spent the entire night boiling. We barely slept that night.
Still, we hoped breakfast the next morning would improve our impression of the hotel and restore at least some faith in the experience. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
Breakfast is advertised as being served from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. We arrived at 8:30, only to find that there was virtually nothing left except coffee (filter, but decent) and cereal — despite a continental breakfast being promised and paid for.
We tried toast and butter, but it wasn’t butter, but something from vegetable oils, so we gave up.
When I went to reception to ask whether the food would be replenished, I was told they were “not obliged to cook for us” because breakfast was self-service. I certainly wasn’t expecting to be spoon-fed, but in order to prepare something yourself, there actually has to be food available.
We were then informed that everything had already been eaten by 8:00 a.m. Apparently, no one thought to mention that getting breakfast would require competing with other guests or queuing from the middle of the night.
We went next door, to Greggs, for a coffee and breakfast.
Honestly, does this sound like an experience worth £120 per night?
Hear me out right now: never ever stay here in the summer and don't buy into their "breakfast included" deal. If we had known what we were going to go through, we would never have chosen this hotel in our lives.
Very clean room and friendly staff
The location is excellent. The towels were soft and fluffy. The bathroom was modern and the room was big. The staff try to be helpful in difficult circumstances
The breakfast was very dull and the corridors can be very long in this unusual building which was probably an office at one time. The lift isn't always working and the floor can be a bit hazardous at times. It can be lively at night/ early morning due to the central location
Staff were fantastic, cleanliness fantastic. Great experience. A hotel with good ethics. I will return. Thank you.
Clean large room
It’s a hostel housing homeless, weed smoking
The room was lovely, large for a single person with excellent facilities
The breakfast, it was awful. A bap, what’s that all about? It was even smaller than a normal bap, I had to get breakfast afterwards
Just the convenient location
Facilities in room are not good, breakfast is so poor, hotel doesn''t provide correct invoice. There area is also a rough area with bad guy making noise
The reception staff were lovely and my room was huge with a table and chairs..Refrigerator and microwave. Hospitality tray. Plentiful hot water and a modern bathroom. The air conditioning was very efficient
The way some of the management were towards certain guests. There's definitely a hint of tomato plants in the communal areas. The building was most likely an office block in a previous incarnation. Some parts of the building weren't very nice. The no pyjamas rule at breakfast was something that made me wonder. The guests were a motley crew. For one night it was fine but not longterm instead of a proper home for families.
