Hurricane Helene caused damages to hotel and nobody is answering the phone there I am being told i can't get my refund??

Hotel is outdated, picture makes it look like rooms are updated but only minor cosmetic things done. Strong musty smell in the room

Went for my birthday trip .! Ocean front is amazing being able to walk right into beach . But the rooms need work .! Very cheap mattress that u hear box springs every time u turn over and room 205 shower wasn’t even working right .!

Excellent place to stay! I will be staying here on my future Florida visits. I highly recommend GSW!

Needs small renovation like the carpets there is a smell I think it’s from the old carpets and painting. But other than that clean and a good stay.

This place has it all!! Cabanas on the beach, a large crystal blue pool, a large hot tub! What else do you need. Shopping and restaurants are all walkable!

Not the fanciest place, but clean. All appliances were in good working order. Great WIFI. Outside table area by the beach is great. Short walk to the shoreline. Hot tub is great. Enjoyed sailing the catamaran. Overall, a very relaxing place.

This was an extremely clean property. The staff was outstanding. The view of the pool and short walk to the beach was perfect. They had cabanas, grills, hot tub, all included. EVERYTHING I NEEDED was right there.

Our stay here was wonderful! We celebrated with my daughter‘s 18th birthday here with four of her friends. We had our cake on the beach, and they supplied a table and chairs. The Manager Mandy and Staff were so nice and accommodating, they helped us with everything that we needed to make our birthday celebration wonderful. The place is very clean, although it needs a few updates the staff, Location and cleanliness of the room made up for that. We had a wonderful time!

Our room was clean and nice. The hallways had an odd smell but not overpowering. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We would stay here again for sure.

We loved that it was right on the beach and it had cabanas for use by the ocean. The staff was very friendly and it was in a great location. They had very few parking spots close to the hotel but had plenty of parking a block away.

Comfy beds, plenty of amenities, direct beach access, and great staff. Only difficulty I had was figuring out where to park, but the lady behind the desk pointed me in the right direction

We had the best time. The Grand Shores West is the best beach front hotel within miles!! Sun, sunsets, sand, pool and hot tub - plus sand bar every day = THE BEST. Thank you GSW!

Let’s start with ROACHES. Not A roach, roaches. The parking situation is either fighting for a spot on property or across the road in a pothole filled gravel area or 1/4 of a mile down the other direction. And they do not offer any type of shuttle service.
Place is dated and they did try to update with paint and new bathroom sink and toilet. That is about it. Patio door took a bodybuilder’s strength to open and close. The walls are PAPER thin and you can hear people in every room around and above you. Every step, yell, baby cry and kids that run up and down the hallway.
No offering of a snack bar or food of any kind. Only lobby coffee. If you want anything you have to go across the street to other locations. Not even a snack vending machine.
The property has a nice pool, wonderful beach location and access to water sport items & beach chairs. The only thing that didn’t make us demand a refund and leave.
Staff was friendly. I wouldn’t stay here again but, if you are on a budget and unfazed by the above, the price is reasonable.

Do not stay here, cockroaches in hotel, water in bathtub was coming out brown, no water pressure in bathroom sink, leaks in bathroom, bathroom was filthy. The pool was filthy. We tried to get hotel staff to at least switch our room and he was not helpful.

Great location. Quiet and clean beach. Older resort. 2 “bedroom” unit we stayed in needs updating and deep clean.

I read reviews - the good and bad. But one thing was consistently good in every review- the staff of this location. I took my daughter and her friend for a few days. We were there just a day after a hurricane/tropical storm came through and I was worried there would be a lot of damage. There were issues but every employee was diligently working to make things right. Our first night I was worried because the room we reserved was not where we were placed but the next morning we moved to the correct room and it was fine.
I had the space to sleep while the girls stayed up late giggling.
If you want a comfortable place where the staff truly wants you to be happy, stop here for a quick trip. They are updating and renovating the property which is great. The only reason it’s not the highest rating is that I believe the sofa beds need some attention. Most sofa beds are pretty tough to sleep on… these were a little brutal and worn.

If you need your room to be clenched you have to pay $48.

Our room was spacious; however, the good ends there. The room was not clean, was in need of repair in the bathroom and it reeked of mildew/mold smell. We contacted the front desk to ask for a different room due to being allergic to mold and was advised there were no other rooms available. They did bring in a little machine that cleaned the air while we had to be out of the room but the smell was back within an hour of the machine being gone. The staff was amazing, the location is perfect and the beach chairs are a great bonus, but I will not be staying here again.
