A chic, beautiful, and very comfortable hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more special. The sake machine is a fun touch and a unique highlight of the stay!
Nothing to complain about
Everything! The staff were wonderfully attentive. The room was always clean and cozy, with our pajamas laid out each day:) It was a quiet, calm oasis after a full, adventurous day through the Kyoto markets, temples, lead tourist attractions and more.
Loved the ambiance and vibe of the the whole hotel the lobby was beautiful had an open roof concept. The rooms were spacious and the tatami bath was so relaxing after a day out. Location was great quiet but surrounding local restaurants and shopping too. The free snacks and drinks were the absolute best. Had different sales to try free flowing and soft drinks and tea you could take up to your room too!!
The cleaning crew could have paid a little more attention to the sheets and the floors.
I hate to leave such a negative review because the staff was so kind, and the location is fabulous. Loved that we were able to do laundry in the room as this was our mid point in a multiple week Japan stay
Our room was much smaller than appears in the photos and we didn't even have room to open our suitcases without blocking the doorway.
The biggest issue though was just how dirty the room was. The walls were covered in brown smudges and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept between guests. There was hair all over the room that clearly did not belong to my partner or myself.
Everything was amazing. The room actually provides everything you may need for a long stay, even a small kitchenet with cutlery, microwave, fridge.
The smoking room was horrible, small and like a black boxed-cage. Overall, the corridors too much black color, but the central Zen garden smoothens things out.

That the staff didn’t automatically empty the small trash cans every day; not enough towels or toilet paper. Staff quickly did these things when asked though.

The wooden tub was on of the highlights of our trip. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The lobby and common areas felt like a spa. They offered complimentary green tea and soda in the afternoons and even sake at night. The location was central to many of Kyoto's offerings including a short walk to Nishiki Market.
Only the location is ok. Rest of the experience is highly bad!!!
My room was like a box!!!! The so called window were not seeing the outside and couldn’t be opened. Everything was extremely frustarating in this hotel! Really! It was like a nightmare. There were mosquitos in the room and they brought me mosquito killer but since there was no window to open I would be sleeping with that mosquito killers chemicals.
There were no glass for drinking water. There was kettle but they said they can provide coffee in the rooms. Only outside.
And after that experience I might even consider not booking via booking.com again. Because during the problematic stay I couldnt take any help or guidance from booking.com and they were also non reachable. I need a “company” invoice from that hotel for my 1 night stay and I need booking.com’s help at least for that! I hope you reach out to me!
Lovely room, very clean and spacious. Had all sorts of amenities like an open bar for a few hours a day, washing machine in the room with detergent and toiletries. Beautiful hotel.
Staff were a little short on check out but I was doing a luggage transfer.
