El hotel es muy bonito y tranquilo, ideal para relajarse. Los bungalows, con su diseño cuidadosamente pensado, son muy cómodos y acogedores. El desayuno es sencillo pero delicioso, con todo lo necesario para empezar bien el día.

El único punto negativo es que los bungalows están bastante cerca entre sí y las paredes no aíslan bien el sonido, por lo que cualquier ruido puede llegar a ser molesto para los vecinos.

Unfortunately, we were seduced by the beautiful pictures on the net, which must be a „little older “.
Our bungalow did not correspond to the description - so the windows had no panes, but only nets. With it you can live well in the jungle, after all you can follow the outside noises perfectly. But the nets were badly damaged. The mattresses were through and under the sheets you should also better not look.
When a heavy rain fell, the power initially went out for a long time - even if you are surprised that there is no generator or the garden apparently not well kept in a hotel of this category, also okay. However, we had to find that a huge tree in the parking lot had fallen on several cars and motorcycle rental cars. Our car was also affected-total damage. Not to imagine if we had arrived at the hotel a few minutes later. No one can do anything for that, but for the subsequent handling. We were virtually expelled from the hotel. Communication with police, car rental etc. were not possible.
However, the promise to reimburse our accommodation costs - we had just moved into the room - was not respected in retrospect: Expedia as our travel portal referred to the rejection by the hotel. The Shawandha Lodge, in turn, referred to the cancellation policy. Multiple emails and phone calls with employees of the facility could not solve the issue.

Shawandha Ecolodge had incredibly kind and helpful staff. The bungalow was charming and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was tasty and plentiful. The only thing that made my stay less than ideal was the construction 2 bungalows away from me. I understand there’s no truly great time to do construction, but having saws and hammering begin at 8 am and not stop until after 5 pm made it impossible to sleep in or get rest during the daytime, and for me that was kind of a big deal. I was forced to leave the property in order to have quiet. Otherwise this was a fabulous place to stay.

Cabins arranged in well landscaped area which gave privacy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, well stocked with modern decor and beds were very comfortable.

great stay, only exception WIFI! Not the best!

Lugar muy bonito y tranquilo, todo muy limpio, el servicio fue lo esperado. El colchón podría mejorar, no fue terrible pero podría mejorar.

Ocupamos aire acondicionado y renovar instalaciones.

The property grounds are beautiful. Location is great. We stayed in one of the new cabins with two beds, perhaps specifically catered for a family (we had two young kids ages 9 and 12). It has a beautiful outdoor bathroom attached to the cabin (shower, toilet, sinks are all open with a half wall and greenery to provide some cover. The odd thing is the door only locks from the outside and there's no way to lock it when you're inside the cabin...so as a young family, it didn't feel as safe knowing the bathroom door remains unlocked at night.

Breakfast was fine. Might be useful to use small fans or citronella candles to keep the huge groups of flies trying to eat the food (despite the serving dishes being covered). The pool is also lovely and it's helpful that the beach is just a brief 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

The staff was helpful and friendly, however, we found many of them seemed to lack a warm welcoming vibe - the only one who truly exuded that kind of hospitality was Ilse. She made great recommendations and seemed to truly care that guests enjoy their visit.

While it can be viewed as family-friendly, I would recommend it for couples or families with older children (maybe older teens).

Falta un poco de mantenimiento a las áreas de estar. A pesar de no tener aire acondicionado es cómodo para dormir. El servicio en el desayuno buffet no fue el mejor.

Staff are amazing and so is the property! Will be back soon!

El hotel muy bien, aunque no estaba la casa que pensábamos hablamos rentado, ya que la foto que sale es la de la piscina, pero estaban en remodelación. La comida muy bien, y el servicio inmejorable, muy amables y nos ayudaron en todo, tanto el Perosnal del lobby como del restaurante,

A great little place next to the beach and easy access to restaurants and beach life! yet still peaceful

Stayed in Teepee. Walking down gravel path with roller luggage was awkward. (No bellman or help) Being by pool was nice. Some of the little things could have been better. They sold a bottle of wine in the room but there was no corkscrew. Keys were awkward. Breakfast was good.

There’s zero privacy in these rooms, and we can hear absolutely everything.
The people beside us their phone alarm went off at 3am and they started talking and we could hear everything
All the bugs, birds, monkeys throughout the night, including anytime a car or motorcycle drove by.

For the money that this is a night it’s crazy.

And our bedding smells like it hasn’t been washed. There’s a mildew smell in the sheets and comforter.

The Lodge was nice, the internet did not work for the entire week I was staying there. One the front desk lady was rude she had an attitude. The breakfast menu was very limited.
