Pros:

Das Hotel ist sehr modern gestaltet und macht wirklich was her. Die Lage direkt am Nationalpark könnte nicht besser sein. Das Personal ist stets zur Stelle, um einem die Wünsche zu erfüllen. An einigen Stellen sind Reparaturen notwendig oder Nachbesserungen, aber das Hotel hat auf jeden Fall Potential. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist sehr gut und mit allem, was man braucht. Die Sauberkeit zumindest im Haupthaus kann ich nicht beanstanden. Bei Beanstandungen wird schnell und sachgerecht reagiert. Unser Fahrer bekam ein kostenloses Zimmer gestellt.

Cons:

Die Sauberkeit in den Cottages direkt am See musste von unserer Seite moniert werden. Das Personal fand aber sehr schnell eine unkomplizierte Lösung ohne Aufpreis und brachte uns im Haupthaus unter.

Onderbenut potentieel op een afgelegen maar mooie lokatie
Pros:

De zeer rustige lokatie en het erg mooi en goed onderhouden zwembad met uitzicht op de tuin en een meer. Ideaal voor een dagje lui aan het zwembad liggen. Voor wat betreft het eten was ons gezin erg positief over het uitgebreide ontbijt. Vooral de jongen en het meisje aan de receptie waren erg vriendelijk.

Cons:

Desondanks het gebouw en de lokatie een enorm potentieel hebben bleven we enorm op onze honger zitten op meerdere vlakken. Er waren in meerdere kamers overvloedig veel mieren aanwezig. We kregen wel een andere kamer maar ook daar was er hetzelfde probleem. Er was erg veel personeel voor het aantal gasten. Dit personeel zou beter gebruikt kunnen worden om de kamers stelselmatig wat op te frissen en de hygiene op te krikken. Als dit kan met de tuin en het zwembad, dan zou dit ook binnen in het gebouw moeten kunnen. Meerdere opties van het eten waren niet beschikbaar en bepaalde drankjes waren vervallen. Ook spreekt het veelvuldige personeel slechts zeer gebrekkig engels. Men raadt een fietstocht aan maar er zijn slechts 4 fietsen en die verkeren in embarmelijke staat.. er wordt wel 400 rs per uur gevraagd voor deze fietsen. Mits beperkte aanpassingen zou dit een topverblijf kunnen worden… maar overall was dit helaas een tegenvaller.. of onze verwachtingen lagen te hoog. Ik hoop dat er rekening wordt gehouden met de opmerkingen zodat jullie enkel 100% tevreden gasten zullen hebben in de toekomst

Sehr schöne lagr
Pros:

Nettes Personal. Die Lage ist einfach phantastisch, ebenso sehr Pool. Etwas seltsam ist der Wachmann mit Gewehr und das Essen. Das Essen ist ok und damit das was uns in vier Wochen Sri Lanka am wenigsten geschmeckt hatte. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut. Leider kein WLAN in den Zimmern.

Essen schmeckt im Vergleich zu sonstigen Restaurants in Sri Lanka nicht besonders gut.
Eher langweilig, oft zäh, aufgewärmt.

Pros:

The location was great, and we enjoyed the quiet, peaceful environment.

Cons:

The washrooms were not clean, and the staff were not helpful with carrying our luggage. The milk powder sachets provided in the room had expired, and there was no way to contact the front desk from the room. As a result, I had to go myself to request fresh milk powder and other necessary items. The buffet was quite expensive considering the limited variety of food offered.

Pros:

Spacious rooms and very comfortable.
Great location with a beautiful view and pool.
It's a good spot to do a safari in Wasgamuwa National Park.
The staff were helpful.

Cons:

In the villa the windows did not close properly which allowed a lot of bugs in.

A beautiful location with easy access to Wasgamuwa park.
Pros:

Perfect location near Wasgamuwa park and beautiful setting by the lake.
Friendly and very helpful staff.
Easy to organise safari drives from the hotel. Great driver. Saw lots of elephants and many birds as well as monitor lizards and mongoose.
Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Cons:

WiFi didn’t work in the rooms so had to sit in reception to access it.

Cons:

Dinner was not really a good choice. Water supply in the room (shower, toilet, sink) did not work at night but only after we asked for a repair the next morning. Rooms are very basic and therefore the price doesn’t seem to be justified. We booked a “villa room” which does not mean that you get the entire building but only one out of the four rooms - misunderstandable listing on booking.com

We had a truly memorable stay at Lavendish Wild Safari, beautifully located right by a picturesque lake filled with blooming lotus flowers. The setting is simply stunning, and the infinity-style pool overlooking the lake makes it even more special—perfect for relaxing while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

The hotel is surrounded by lush trees and nature, making it a paradise for wildlife and bird lovers. We were able to enjoy incredible animal and bird observations right on site. Hornbills, for example, even have a roosting tree near the hotel, which was amazing to witness.

One of the absolute highlights was the safari experience. From here, you can access one of the best safaris we had during our entire trip—easily comparable to, or even better than, famous parks like Yala National Park, Udawalawe National Park, and Minneriya National Park. What makes this experience truly unique is the lack of mass tourism. During our safari, there was only one other jeep besides us, which meant no crowds and no chaotic chasing of wildlife.

Despite the tranquility, we saw an incredible variety of animals: elephants, countless bird species, and even a bear—which is quite rare! It felt like a true hidden gem compared to the more crowded national parks.

We would also highly recommend our driver, Nihal, who was extremely friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, this place is a fantastic base for an unforgettable and authentic safari experience—an absolute insider tip!

Мы выбрали этот отель как кратковременную остановку на пути в национальный парк Яла. Возможно в следующий раз мы бы остановились на пару дней, так как вокруг отеля мы обнаружили места, где потрясающее разнообразие птиц и животных. Что касается отеля и нашего проживания там: чувствуется, что отель сейчас переживает не самые лучшие времена, хотя обслуживающий персонал очень старается поддерживать высокий уровень обслуживания. Начиная от приема и заканчивая проводами гостей. Мы чувствовали себя королевскими особами, потому что кроме нас других постояльцев мы не видели ) Мы жили в номере с выходом к бассейну. Номер достаточно просторный, чистый, с кондиционером. Ортопедические матрасы на кроватях были удобными, но подушки были большими, моя шея немного затекла. Ванная комната была чистой, с хорошим напором горячей воды, лежали всякие полезные мелочи для гостей: мыло, шампунь, шапочки для купания и даже одноразовая бритва с гелем для бритья. Бассейн был чистый, и даже присутствие там нескольких маленьких милых лягушек не мешало моему мужу наслаждаться купанием. Мы ужинали и завтраками в отеле. Еда была свежей, вполне съедобной. Завтрак скромный, но нам хватило.

Cons:

Своему мужу я сказала, что отель похож на усталого слона. Величественное большое здание, огромная территория, но на всем лежит отпечаток легкой усталости и запустения. Возможно владельцам для возрождения былого величия стоит рассмотреть вопрос изменения бизнес-стратегии. Сейчас во всем мире очень многие люди интересуются наблюдением за птицами, почему бы не привлечь таких туристов, организуя экскурсии с этой направленностью. Можно так же внести изменения в оформлении парка, посадить несколько фруктовых и красиво цветущих деревьев, для привлечения птиц, чтобы постояльцы могли наблюдать за ними даже не выходя за территорию отеля. Можно так же поставить пару кормушек, которые местные птицы будут посещать, и гости вашего отеля смогут наслаждаться наблюдением за птицами и животными. Во время нашего путешествия по Коста-Рика в каждом отеле, где мы останавливались такие кормушки были и это очень привлекает туристов, любящих природу.
