Trendy hotel with a great location!
Pros:

Wonderful location on S Congress close to restaurants and entertainment, and a short walk away from the Capitol.

Cons:

On the pricey side if you’re just looking for a play to stay after you’re done playing in Austin.

Pros:

The hotel feels like staying in a tree house. Great location for walking distance from shops and restaurants. Great pool, wish it had more seating.

Cons:

Door to the bathroom in our room was a pocket door and difficult to pull out and very loud. Small thing but besides that everything was great!

Perfect Oasis in the heart of Austin, TX
Pros:

I always love staying at Hotel Magdalena as a staycation, since I live in Austin. Its like an oasis right off South Congress, so you are able to relax in the comfortable rooms, enjoy their beautiful pool surrounded by trees & then just few steps away are amazing shops & restaurants, including Summer House on their property. The food & drinks are definitely elevated compared to other hotels. I can't wait to go back!

Great location and amenities with comfy and clean rooms.
Pros:

The location near congress ave was perfect. Easy to walk to Many stores, restaurants, and live music venues.

Cons:

The elevator button was not working. This made it more inconvenient for packing luggage up and down.

Dark Unsafe Room
Pros:

This was one if the worst places I ever stayed. My room was booked far away from everyone else in my blocked booking. I arrived early and everybody kept getting a room ahead of me. The reason given seemd bogus. My room had no air-conditioning, I had to walk alone in the dark while finding my room and getting to and fro since the lighting was broken (a known issue). They did finally move my room but only because the air-conditioning didn't work

Pros:

I will never be visiting this location again. Rude FD staff for absolutely zero reason, fire alarms going off, and loud construction first thing in the AM.. not worth it. I hate sounding so negative but I'd want to know these things before booking a room in Austin, especially since there are so many other options.

Also, the room setup is just odd. Your door is behind you while you sleep, which maybe that's a me thing, but I like to see my whole room when I'm going to sleep somewhere I'm unfamiliar with.

Noisy as hell
Cons:

It’s SUPER NOISY. Avoid at all costs staying here. They built the hotel right next to a distribution center of some sorts that have really loud trucks every early morning loading stuff and making crazy noise. The windows are not sound proof and won’t block it either.

Excellent stay
Pros:

The vibe, the staff all excellent. The room had a private, screened balcony with a working ceiling fan. It was excellent. Lots of tree coverage so it feels secluded.
Only complaint: was the bed was as hard as a rock.

Great Location, Starter Level Boutique Hotel Experience
Pros:

Overall, this was a decent value and I love Bunkhouse as a brand. I mainly stayed for the pool, which I enjoyed, and the soaps were great.

That said, the room design was not my favorite. The bathroom door was right next to the bed, the sink was in the bedroom instead of the bathroom, and the shower pressure was surprisingly weak while the sink pressure was overly strong. The elevator was also very slow and poorly ventilated, and the stair layout made getting to reception inconvenient.

Cute concept, but it felt a little forced and not as functional as I hoped. I’ll probably stay at another Bunkhouse property next time.
