I went 30 miles with my taxi do you find it a dirty, incompetent hotel staff. The woman was sitting at a desk and informed me first of all that I would have to pay cash. I went to the ATM machine across from her desk but it was not functional. Then I asked for the hotel to reimburse my driver because I had paid for the specific room that the hotel on your website, Hotels.com, said would include a free airport shuttle. She denied it said that. So I didn’t look it up and it explained and showed her the facts. She kept disputing it in spite of reality And I begin to get frustrated. She got her boss. “Jay” on the phone. I told him I was in Dominican Republic to lecture on business and I would be sure to use this mini case to start off. Also that I would use the same in my future MBA lectures at the University and other business conferences. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels in dozens of countries and by car this is the worst ever. He finally agreed to refund my money and I paid the $50 to have my taxi take me back to the airport to a decent, clean, honest, hotel. I’ve had better hotel experiences in Mali, Cambodia, Honduras, and Nepal after civil wars, earthquakes, hurricanes and flooding, than this excuse for even just decent customer service. I will never stay in such a place again and I worry about Hotels.com offering such facilities on their website. And yes I’m going to write up his experience for a future article as well as offer several lectures about it to warn others
.
I will review the pros and cons of the Greek hotel.
Pro: the breakfast was delicious, the staff was friendly and attentive, the view is wonderful( beach is one step out of the hotel), and the bed is big and comfortable.
Cons: the room was not cleaned well( everytime I stepped on the floor without my flip flop my feet would get really dirty, The ac does not cool the bedroom either all (and it gets really hot inside the room, no appliances in the room (like a mini fridge), food is really expensive(double that of other restaurants offer) the floors of my room were always wet because it was raining very night, did not look like in the pictures and ads either all, loud music until late (even when there was literally no one there but the staff), and finally the showers which were not clean and filtered water, I felt like I was taking a shower in the ocean, my hair and skin felt salty after each shower.
Anyway if you want a frat like hotel the Greek is great for you, cause you won’t be able to sleep early because of the insanely loud music and because the showers are really salty just like beach water.
Nice place in the heart of Bavaro, like the downtown of Punta Cana. Staff is very nice and commited to customer service. I did not get the room I booked but the one I've got was excellent, I liked the balcony facing the street. The included breakfast was delicious and fresh, give a try to the Dominican option. The beach is just a few steps from your room and the parking lot is a plus. thanks
All employees are awesome!!!
Great value and location. Very nice staff.
The place or the room didn’t looked like they pictures service in the restaurant apart from one waitress were suck
Location is excellent, just in front of the beach.
Great place for party goers, but not such for family groups or people looking for a quiet time by the beach.
It was hard for the gps to find the location.
The place wasn't as I imagined it, but it is very affordable and the beach is soooo amazing, I had dominican Breakfast and it was really good. The ladies at the front desk (Maria and Edimar) were the best, always willing to help with a smile and great attitude, you ladies make my stay the best... thanks
Ordering my food at the restaurant took too long
the place was cleaned
Restaurant inside
Terrible hotels and people ... don't stay with you family.
I reached their and they told me that all the rooms has been sold and i have to pay 200 USD for premium room
what you pay for is what you get! I stayed for the night because my original hotel was too expensive to stay an extra day. I recommend staying at your resort (if you can) as long as you can then go to this place.
The owner was very nice & accommodating seeing as I went later on in the night. The place is a club! That stays open til’ 12:00-1240ish! I stayed on the actual floor of the club. I was nervous someone was going to mistake my room for a bathroom, so I put the dresser behind the door for my own sanity.
A/c worked perfectly! No Netflix or TV to watch but who can even hear with the music in the background!
Would I stay again, probably just for a few hours like I did to make it for my flight the next morning.
Amazing!!!
New owners treated me like family. Righteous, professional souls.
I think is good that the bathrooms in the rooms are in better condition, so guests can feel more comfortable
Well, I am writing this not because I stayed, but no service was given to me. I arrived there parking my car in a miserable dirt lot accross and tried to check in, but unfortunately they could not help me. I don't even know what it was about, since they kept telling to wait. But I have a feeling that they didn't have any room available. The guy who speaks English did mention that they ran out of rooms, but mine were ready except they couldn't check me in. Finally, I had to tell them that if they don't have anything to give me, please let me know so it is not too late for me, and they did tell me ok they're going to cancel me. Overall, that was a bad experience.
Still trying to get up & running fully, lots of work to be done. A soft opening would suit best until then, a few rooms that are fully ready & staff properly trained/equipped to host the amount of guests. They were nice but nice only goes so far when expecting a “hotel/beach club” experience.
We stayed in a room for 10 nights. Does not look like the pictures. We arrived to a friendly staff with two people knowing english. Loads of music every night even though there is nobody downstairs. When the music would stop the workers would be loud and you could still hear them, they do not give you shampoo or normal body wash we had to ask and they gave it to us only once. Then you’re forced to buy 8 dollar shampoo that you cant even take back on the flight home. Mosquitos everywhere especially the nights that it rained. Smelt like weed some of the nights. I understand that its a club resort but when there is no one in the resort actually dancing there is no need to blast music for five hours straight. Staff stays up until 4-5am every night good for them but you literally cannot sleep because they are so loud. Ordered the greek souvlaki which was definitely not worth 44$. We paid 44$ for two sticks of souvlaki with barely any meat on it, a mediocre salad, for some reason 20 loafs of bread, rice and potatoes which were sub par. I suggest you go to the restaurants near by within 400ft and you’ll find a better deal with better food. The beach made it kind of worth it.
Jay was the only person on staff to actually go out of his way and make our stay enjoyable. Helped us with finding a covid test and always asked us if we needed anything.
