The location of the property was great. The old school feel and to stay at a place that was part of history. Super cool. The bar and library area were awesome too. Parking is convenient.
They ended up moving us from our original room to a different one due to the construction of 101. The room they put us in was very dirty. Bug carcasses, cobwebs, dust bunnies, and hair in the drains. The bed was also too-too soft and uncomfortable. The construction outside was also so loud that it was hard to fall asleep. Thankfully they gave us earplugs.
Beautiful space, super lovely staff.
There is all night construction directly outside of the hotel. It is not possible to sleep there. No refund or response from the property.
Attractive property, friendly staff, comfortable bed.
No coffee available (we had Early departure ) there’s a cafe on site, but closes early opens late. No ice machine, single faucet in shower directly beneath oversized, overhead shower head, forcing one to get wet with cold water just to turn it on…
Close to the few restaurants in town. It's a nice historic building. Free coffee at the cafe was nice. Kudos to the young girl who was manning the cafe and dealing with guests. She did a great job.
Late night construction right outside the hotel made it hard to sleep. At check in there was no mention of this. It did not feel like the hotel was booked and yet they gave us the room facing the construction. Room amenities are minimal at best. The room itself had good space.... It was just empty space. For over $300 a night I was expecting more.
The decor was stunning and the outside areas beautiful.
It felt dead and was run not by the actual management but a bunch of kids (who really did their best). They had to call the management any time there was something. Generally it felt like we were visiting a place that felt as if it was closed. We had to check in ourselves— not a human in sight, the pool was closed. Only communication was through text with the management (to the extent they actually responded). Maybe it’s run by an AI agent?
The library room, bar and bar tender were super. The adjoining cafe was nice. The historical nature of the building.
Overall, the room was disappointing:
- the fan in the bathroom was loud and continually ran thru the night with no apparent way to turn it off
- road noise was heard throughout the night
- only one chair in the room; it would have been nice to have had a chair for each guest (in our case, two)
- the room felt cold (not in terms of temperature) and echoey - in part because:
- the floor was just wood; there was no carpet or rug to make it warmer and softer to walk on
- the walls were barren
- no freezer in the fridge
- furnishings didn't do justice to the grandeur of the hotel and room
- the shower stream was uneven and didn't fully heat up
Good aspects of the room:
- comfortable bed
- side table lamps had the ability to wirelessly charge a phone
- split blind that allowed light to come thru the upper half of the window while keeping the lower half shaded
Lage ist gut, direkt am Highway 101. Gutes Restaurant (Pizzeria) gleich nebenan. Hotel sehr schön renoviert. Bett war sehr bequem, schönes Badezimmer.
Sehr alte und marode Fenster. Lautstärke der Strasse sehr gut hörbar. Keinen Fernseher, keinen Kaffeekocher und keinen Ganzkörperspiegel im Zimmer.
The charm of an old hotel that has been well renovated with all the niceties of a modern hotel. Tha original mirrored bar and lobby with a fireside library.
Tha showers took a while to heat up and the sinks drained a little slow but that is expected from a charming old boutique establishment and was fully explained in the pamphlet.
Renovated historic building with great furnishings, bar-restaurant-coffee shop on premises with pizza place next door.
There's a reason they give you ear plugs on check-in, the truck traffic is continuous thru the night.
This is a beautiful older hotel with fantastic customer service.
Very cute charming boutique hotel, warning; no TVs on site.
Wine country pricing without the real experience, probably wouldn’t do it again.
Extremely photogenic property, little to nothing happening in town. Nice bartender. Great breakfast sandwich
EXTREMELY LOUD AS IT FACES THE 101…be prepared
if you want a gorgeous, vintage stay in the midst of the redwoods, this is the place.
All good
Never stayed in Hopland because we used to live in Willits up the road. It is a good place and wanted to stay for Thanksgiving weekend this year but that place isn't worth the $210 a night they want now. No way I am paying more than San Francisco prices to stay in a town that closes everything at 6pm.
