I don’t normally stay in a Holiday Inn and now I know why
Pros:

I didn’t care for the coffee machine, it was a medium roast, which is very weak

Cons:

I didn’t particularly care for the breakfast as the staff was setting it up and putting it out it was cold

Stay there often an generally like it a lot but this Tim was somewhat disappointed.
Pros:

Convenient for our travel needs. Good for pet.

Cons:

Rm321 bath sink drained back up and window didn’t have a blackout curtain so room was lit by parking lot lights at night.

An unbearable carpet odor and no room change made for a very uncomfortable stay.
Cons:

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing.

As soon as we checked into our room, there was a strong foul odor coming from the carpet. We reported it to the front desk 3–4 times during our stay. The first time, they sent someone to spray a fragrance on the carpet. It smelled better for about 30 minutes to an hour, but the terrible odor quickly returned.

We requested to be moved to another room because the smell was unbearable, especially at night, but our request was never accommodated. The second time we complained, housekeeping simply placed a cucumber-scented air freshener in the room instead of addressing the actual problem. It did nothing to eliminate the source of the odor.

Sleeping in the room that night was extremely uncomfortable because of the persistent smell.

What made it even more frustrating was that one of my friends stayed in a different room at the same hotel and had no odor issues at all, so this was clearly a problem specific to our room.

I understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen, but the lack of an effective solution or a room change after multiple complaints was very disappointing. I hope the hotel resolves this issue before assigning this room to future guests.

Because the issue was never resolved, we had an extremely uncomfortable night and were unable to enjoy the stay we paid for. We believe the room was not fit for guests in its condition and feel that a full refund would be a fair resolution given the circumstances.
